Montano -- Mr. Rumaldo S. Montano, a loving father and friend to his children, died Saturday, July 21, 2001 in Albuquerque at the age of 87. Mr. Montano is preceded in death by his wife, Cipriana G. Montano and son, Ernest J. Montano. He is survived by his sons, Rumaldo Montano Jr., Leroy "Red" Montano and wife, Tracey; daughters, Rosie Miera, Annabelle Montoya and husband, Ivan, Cecilia Montano, and Mary Montano-Newell and husband, Fred; brother, Joe Montano; sisters, Helen Johnson, Dora Baca, Connie Montano, and Mary Alice Drago; sister-in-law, Rita Romero; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Montano will be held on Wednesday at St. Edwin Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leroy "Red" Montano, Rumaldo Montano Jr., Fred Newell, Chris Lund, Joey Basey and Robert Miera. A Rosary for Mr. Montano will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Edwin Church. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
