Salazar -- Mr. Jake (Jacobo) A. Salazar died Saturday, July 21, 2001 in Albuquerque at the age of 83. Mr. Salazar was born in Santa Rosa, NM. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired employee of First Security Bank. Mr. Salazar is preceded in death by his parents, Eliseo and Felipita Salazar; three brothers; and two sisters. He was married to his wife for 63 years. He is survived by his wife, Susie M. Salazar; son, Joe A. Salazar and wife, Nellie; and grandson, John B. Salazar. Funeral Services for Mr. Salazar will be held on Wednesday at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John B. Salazar, David M. Sanchez, Robert F. Chavez, Ken Romero, Joseph E. Chavez and Julian Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Bartlett and Andrew Romero. Visitation for Mr. Salazar will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Mortuary Chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
