Tafoya -- Piedad Compos Tafoya, born April 5th, 1905, passed away in her sleep, July 22, 1999. A lifetime resident of New Mexico, she has left a legacy of 8 children: Louise Gonzales, Tony Tafoya, Don Tafoya, Ema Armijo, MaryAna Fernandez, Alfonso Tafoya, Larry Tafoya and Raymond Tafoya. With those 8 children she left 56 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren. She will be loved and missed very deeply. May God keep her always. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 25, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. at Palm Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave, SE. Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 25, 1999 at Palm Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Services will be held at San Clemente Church in Los Lunas at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 1999. Baca -- Jerry Anthony Baca, 42, a resident of Albuquerque, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 15, 1999. He was preceded in death by his father, Fermin Baca. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Sedillo Baca of Albuquerque; his loving mother, Carmen Baca; one son, Gino Baca; one daughter, Monica Brazfield and husband, Leroy. Also surviving are his step-children, Dolores, Monique, David and Sherrie; two sisters, Carmen Maestas, Diana Chavez; five brothers, Ralph Baca and Sandra Montel, Larry Baca and wife, Jeannie, Danny Baca and wife, Renye, Ronnie Baca, and Johnny Baca; Wilfred Maestas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW. Services are under the direction and care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW.

Padilla -- Carlos (Charlie Rey) Padilla, 36, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly. Carlos and his wife, Arlene have three children, Kristie Rae, Nichole and Carlos Rey. He was a true family man who loved his family and loved being surrounded by them. He was an electrician, builder, a coach for his childrens' sports, and a kid at heart. He will be greatly missed by all his playmates. He has six sisters, Debbie Chavez and husband, Larry, Dinah Harvey and husband, Jerrell, Donna Gutierrez and husband, Rodney, Darlene (Nena) Ortega and husband, Jorge, Ramona Moseley and husband, Danny, and Georgia Frankel and husband, Franko; one brother, Ezzard Morales and Daphne; and several nieces and nephews who will miss being chased and tormented by their Uncle Charlie Rey. His Nana Tive Padilla will miss her hito. His loving in-laws, Jose and Lori Madrid, Theresa Madrid, Kathy and Orlando Montoya, Joey and Gina Madrid will miss him at their Sunday Masses together at St. Charles Church. Carlos would want his dogs and cats mentioned because they will miss him also. Carlos is best remembered as strong, confident, smiling, proud, playing with the kids and forever loving life. Funeral services for Mr. Padilla will be held on Thursday at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated by Father Robert A. Chabot at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary for Mr. Padilla will be recited on Wednesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the St. Charles Church by Deacon Lorenzo Castillo. Fikani -- Dorothy M. Fikani, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Friday, July 16, 1999. She is survived by her son, Michael M. Fikani of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Maxine Fouch of Albuquerque and Kathryn Benham of El Paso, TX; brother-in-law, Dudley Perrett of Clayton; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fikani was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Fikani. She was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Fikani worked at the Alvarado Hotel. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #401. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, July 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with Rev. Lemuel M. Boyles officiating. Pallbearers will be Donald Fouch, Bill Fouch, Forrest Fouch, Clint Reed, Larry Sievers and Mike Gleason. Waddles -- Jesse Owen Waddles, Jr., age 49, and a native resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 1999. Mr. Waddles was born June 30, 1950. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Waddles; four children, Kevin and Sheldon Waddles, both of Albuquerque, Tina and Keva Waddles, both of Memphis, TN; his mother, Mrs. Novella Waddles of Denver, CO; his father, Mr. Jessie Waddles, Sr. and wife, Sarah of Albuquerque; three sisters, Gloria Hunn-Perry and husband, Larry, Diana Waddles and Cheryl Waddles, all of Denver, CO; two brothers, James Waddles and wife, LaJana of Colorado Springs, CO and Donald Ray Waddles of Denver, CO; his grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Oliver of Albuquerque; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Tina B. French; eight grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. Visitations will be held Tuesday, July 20, 1999, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in the chapel of Sandia Funeral Care with a special presentation between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 1999, 1:00 p.m., at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 2401 University Blvd. NE, with Stephen Billingslea officiating. Harvey -- Jean O. Harvey, 73, a longtime resident of Estancia, passed away July 17, 1999 in Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Harvey was born October 25, 1925 to Merrill A. and Helen E. (Hosker) Otis, in Longmont, CO. In April of 1964 she married J.C. Harvey in Fort Sumner, NM. He preceded her in death in December 13, 1993. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Estancia, NM. She was also a member of the Paint Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, the Mavericks, and the Estancia Bridge Club. Jean O. Harvey will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Mrs. Harvey is survived by two daughters and son-in law, Sue and Bruce Dile of Estancia, NM and Mary Harvey, also of Estancia, NM; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and April Harvey of Las Vegas, NM; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 21, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estancia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andy Otis, Mike Otis, Jeff Harvey, Chad Harvey, Gene Harvey and Larry Burnett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pete Golden, Mike Harvey, Bill Cotton, and Packy Vaughn. Funeral services were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Moriarty in Moriarty, NM.

Myers -- Nancy C. Myers, 64, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, died Friday, July 16, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Larry Myers; children, Larry R. Walters of Albuquerque and Carolyn A. Janeway and husband, Brian of Albuquerque; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Townsend of Ft. Wayne, IN and Helda Geradot of New Haven, IN; brothers, Harry Anderson of Anthwerp, Ohio, Morice Anderson of New Haven, IN and Richard Anderson of Ft. Wayne, IN. Vance -- Arthur"Leon" Vance, 69, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, died Thursday, July 15, 1999. He is survived by his wife, DeeOra Vance of the family home; daughters, Lonnie Harris and husband, Stephen, Karen D. Vance, and Patti Plake and husband, Larry, all of Albuquerque; sons, Marlin Kincaid, Thomas Leon Vance, and William John Vance and wife, Cecilia, all of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nannie Howey of LaJara, CO, and Norma Walstrom and husband, Clarence of Alamosa, CO. Mr. Vance moved from Colorado to Albuquerque in 1962. He was employed by ABF/Navajo Trucking Co. until his retirement in 1986. Services will be Monday, 1:00 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-Manzano Ward, 12701 Indian School Rd. NE, with Bishop Wheelwright conducting.
