CANDELARIA -- Juan de Dios Candelaria Sr., 81, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 25, 2009 with his family at his side. Mr. Candelaria is survived by his children Rebecca Candelaria Cooper and husband, Rick, Priscilla Romero, Theresa Chavez, Cathy Candelaria and husband, Tomas Gutierrez, Juan de Dios Candelaria Jr., Al Candelaria and wife, Adrienne; his companion, Cecilia Vigil; his sisters, Florela Gonzales, Ramona Martinez, Ignacia Candelaria, Mary Carlos and husband, Ruben, and Rosie Urban; his brother, Tito Candelaria and wife, Lilly; his brother in law, Nestor Herrera; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Candelaria was preceded in death by his wife, Julia ; his parents, Tito and Lita ; brothers, Richard and Justo; and his sister, Pasty Herrera. Mr. Candelaria was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Church from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Father Gonzalo Moreno, presider. LOPEZ -- Albert "Big Al" Lopez, 30, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009. He was born August 28, 1978 in Silver City, NM. He enjoyed spending time with his children and BBQ'ing. He was a member of Rollerz Only Car Club. He enjoyed football- "Big Al's" favorite team is the Miami Dolphins. He also enjoyed fishing, going to the lake, working on cars and reading Low Rider magazines. He is survived by his loving wife Michelle Lopez; his children Taneshea Apodaca, Adrian Lopez and Azia Lopez; mother Cleo Gonzales; step father Lorenzo Gonzales Sr.; brothers Michael Arellano, Lorenzo Gonzales Jr.; sister Ofie Early; grandmothers Ofelia Arellano and Eloisa Chavez. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law Sammy Sr. and Barbara Apodaca; and padrinos Sammy Jr. and Kim Apodaca. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. BRINK -- Charles "Don" Brink, 57, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. He is survived by sons, Danny and Lonnie Brink, their wives, Christina and Toni, and their mother Cathy Brink; grandchildren Isaac, Rachel, Aubrie and Kylie; brother, Dane; sisters, Kimberley and Kristi, and numerous nieces and nephews. Don grew up in Farmington, NM until he joined the US Navy in 1971. After his Honorable Discharge, he moved to Albuquerque and married Cathy in 1976. Don worked numerous positions in the Albuquerque area, most notably with the US Postal Service. Don was soft spoken and was always a friendly person to talk to. He relished the challenge of a crossword puzzle and getting lost in a good book. Above all, Don was a die hard fan of the New York Football Giants and was overjoyed with their most recent Super Bowl victory. He was loved by family and friends and will always be in our hearts. Pallbearers will be Ruben Gurule, Al Wisneski, Steve Ortega, David Gurule, Tyler Briggs, and Dominic Gonzales. BUSTOS -- Janice Bustos, 40, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 after a long illness. She is survived by her children, Nicole C De Baca and husband Chris, Brittney Bustos, Marissa Bustos, and Chantel Roybal; grandchildren, Santiago and Iziquial; her mother, Kathy Roybal; her siblings, Deborah Gorenz, Benjamin C. Roybal and wife Connie, Jeff M. Roybal and fiancee Rachael Doheny, Carla M. Parmoon and husband Jay, and Diane Roybal; aunts, Mary Lou Pavlich and Phyllis Pavlich, both of Raton, NM; nieces and nephews, Erica Jeantete and husband Tomas, Elisa Gorenz, Jeff Alan Roybal, and Ryan and Ben Parmoon; great niece and nephews, Tomas, Gabriella, and Isaiah; and other relatives and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her father, Judge Ben F. Roybal in 1980; and Rudy Gonzales. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on January 4, 1968 and graduated from Sandia High School. She was a very independent person who loved to cook and play with her dogs. Janice was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. LONGACRE -- Robert Longacre, age 72, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, and formally of Santa Fe, NM, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2008, after a long illness. He was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church, in Los Lunas. Robert was retired from the I.U.O.E. Local #953 after 25 years of outstanding service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Robert was a man of many talents and enjoyed life to its fullest. He loved working with wood and he was quite a gourmet cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Celia (Friday) Longacre of Santa Fe, NM. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lita Longacre; daughter, Kellie Gonzales and husband, Al; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Bobbie Rae, Zipporah and husband, Mark, Tim and wife, Tina, Al III and wife, Ming; sister, Lil Anderson and husband, Lloyd and brothers, Elmer Longacre and Butch Longacre and wife, Dolores. He is also survived by many loving family members and friends. QUINTANA -- Evelyn E. Quintana, 71, a resident of Albuquerque passed away May 5, 2008. SISNEROS -- Alfonso "Al" "Ponch" Daniel Sisneros Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, February 17, 1983 Departed March 15, 2008, resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While on a short visit to Melrose, Massachusetts for the Easter Holiday and to visit his mother, step-father, and extended family, Alfonso passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Alfonso was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, then moved to Melrose Massachusetts at the age of five. He spent his childhood traveling back and forth to be with his family in New Mexico. Alfonso graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 2001, where he played basketball. He attended the University of Massachusetts, Salem State College, and was presently working on his degree at UNM in Albuquerque. Alfonso always knew someday he would come "home" to New Mexico, and we are all grateful for the short amount of time we were given to have him back where he wanted to be. Alfonso was a hard-working young man with a contagious smile and the ability to touch people's hearts quickly. For the past year, Alfonso was employed as a restaurant manager for Village Inn restaurants in Albuquerque and got the opportunity to know the business his father has known all his life. Alfonso spent many occasions working side by side with his dad, as recently as catering for the NMAA at the UNM "PIT". Alfonso also had aspirations of becoming a firefighter so he could continue to give to others besides his family. Preceded in death by great-grandparents, Alfonso "Al" "Radio" Gurule and Josephine Apodoca Gurule, of Santa Fe; Fecundo and Helen Sisneros, of Santa Fe, and Alois Reich, father of Robert Reich, of Melrose, MA. Beloved son of Harold "Anthony" Sisneros and wife, Carla, of Albuquerque; Laura Reich and husband, Robert, of Melrose. Loving brother of Mellissa Romero and husband, Randy; twin brothers, Cameron and Jeremy Sisneros; Stephanie Wallace and Tessa Reich of Melrose. Adored grandson of Frances and Joe R. Sisneros, formerly of Santa Fe, residing in Rio Rancho; Lucy Trujillo of Santa Fe; and Clementine Reich of Melrose. Proud and loving uncle to Natalia, Mya, Julian, Camille, Leroy, and Charles Jr. All of whom he would have done anything for to assure their safety and happiness. Special aunt, Sylvia Sisneros of Santa Fe; children and surrogate brothers, and sister; Joshua Herrera, Jason Herrera, and Angelique Lujan.
