BUCHANAN -- Catherine (Kathie) Walker Buchanan, 86, longtime resident of Albuquerque formerly of Jermyn, PA, passed away September 24, 2008. Daughter of Beatrice Kelly and Gerald Walker. She married Allan (Buck) S. Buchanan in 1945 and had a son Allan Jr. A graduate of Marywood University in Scranton & served as a second lieutenant in the US Army during World War II. Her life's passion was teaching and she taught at Douglas MacArthur Elementary School for many years. In retirement, this vibrant woman served on many boards, including UNM's Maxwell Museum, and as docent she continued educating young people maintaining a rigorous schedule. She was also active at the Friends of the Library, Center for the Book in Albuquerque. In addition to her outreach reading programs, she also helped coordinate the monthly book sales at the Library. She was an avid hiker and a wonderful friend to so many and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son; and her sister Dorothy Mattise. She is survived by several nieces; nephews; grand-nieces; and grand-nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maxwell Museum or Friends of the Library in her honor. BUSTOS -- Janice Bustos, 40, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 after a long illness. She is survived by her children, Nicole C De Baca and husband Chris, Brittney Bustos, Marissa Bustos, and Chantel Roybal; grandchildren, Santiago and Iziquial; her mother, Kathy Roybal; her siblings, Deborah Gorenz, Benjamin C. Roybal and wife Connie, Jeff M. Roybal and fiancee Rachael Doheny, Carla M. Parmoon and husband Jay, and Diane Roybal; aunts, Mary Lou Pavlich and Phyllis Pavlich, both of Raton, NM; nieces and nephews, Erica Jeantete and husband Tomas, Elisa Gorenz, Jeff Alan Roybal, and Ryan and Ben Parmoon; great niece and nephews, Tomas, Gabriella, and Isaiah; and other relatives and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her father, Judge Ben F. Roybal in 1980; and Rudy Gonzales. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on January 4, 1968 and graduated from Sandia High School. She was a very independent person who loved to cook and play with her dogs. Janice was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. CAPPUCCIO -- Janet Cappuccio 50, went home to her Savior on August 21, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was an inspiration to many and will be greatly missed by her father Frank; her two sisters, Marsha and Carol; her extended family, and her many friends. Janet was an avid soccer player, coach, and USSF referee, serving the Rio Rancho Soccer Club as Head Referee for a time. She had recently learned how to play pool and enjoyed spending time playing with friends at the Meadowlark Senior Center. CARLYLE -- Bro. Michael Carlyle, 71, in the fiftieth year of his religious life as a Little Brother of the Good Shepherd died on September 26, 2008 at Villa Mathias. Bro. Michael spent many years in administrative capacities caring for developmentally disabled men. Bro. Michael was also an accomplished organist, choir director and music composer. After suffering a debilitating stroke Bro. Michael served as a volunteer at the former St. Joseph's Hospital for several years. He is survived by his brother David, sister- in-law, Joan, two nephews, John Paul and Simon Carlyle, grand-niece, Meredith Mumper and the members of his religious community. Visitation will be on Monday, September 29, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Villa Mathias, 901 Bro. Mathias Pl. NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Villa Mathias. CHRISTENSEN -- Robert ("Chris") Lewis Christensen, 82, passed away on May 14, 2008, in Carson City, NV. Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the son of Fred Christensen, a Danish immigrant, and Vera Lewis, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific arena during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claire. At the time of Claire's death in 2004, they had been married 52 years. He was a practicing attorney in Albuquerque, and served three terms as Bernalillo County Probate Judge. Upon retiring from the practice of law in 1976, Chris and Claire moved to California, later retiring to Carson City, NV, in 1991 where they were active volunteers in Make-a-Wish of Northern Nevada for a decade. He is survived by sons, Rusty of Medway, MA, and John of Auburn, WA; and daughters, Karen Christensen Huff of Albuquerque, Joann Stoehr of Canby, OR, and Jean Christensen of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lois Martinez in 1977. He will always be remembered as a kind, gentle and laid-back soul and will always be in our hearts. The family will be Celebrating his Life with dinner on Friday night in Old Town, one of Chris and Claire's favorite places on their visits to Albuquerque, on October 3, 2008 and a Memorial on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Heights Christian Church.

DEBLASSIE -- Tomasita "Tommie" DeBlassie, 88, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Tom; her four children, Robert and wife, Rose DeBlassie, Helen and husband, Euvaldo Valdez, Margaret and husband, Ben Ruiz, Steve and wife, Gina DeBlassie; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Gutierrez, Ralph "Lito" and wife, Helen Gutierrez; two sisters; Blandy Salas, Bebe and husband, Prudy Durand; and sister-in-law, Emma Gutierrez. She was born in Albuquerque on May 22, 1920 to the late Andres and Elena Gutierrez. Tommie worked at Kirtland AFB from 1956 until retirement in 1985. She was affectionately known to all as "Mom". DEPOY -- Wynoa (Whitey) B. Depoy, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Thursday September 25, 2008. He is survived by his sons, Rodney B. Depoy and wife, Jennifer and Jerry Depoy and wife Linda, all of Albuquerque; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Darold Depoy and Jack Depoy and wife, Irene; and other relatives and friends. Whitey was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Marie Depoy; son, Dennis Depoy; sisters, Juanita and Eloise; and brother, Junior. He was born on February 4, 1920 to Harry and Wealtha Powell Depoy. Whitey proudly served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. After moving to Albuquerque he worked as a mechanic for Jones Service Station and later for Southern Union Gas Company until his retirement. Whitey loved to fish, play his guitar, and spend time with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. DUFFEL -- Grace Ann Duffel, 58, of Moriarty, NM passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2008 in Edgewood, NM with her loving family beside her. Grace was born on January 5, 1950 in Sioux City, IA to Victor and Geraldine (Bockelman) Badtram. After Grace graduated High School in Iowa she moved to California, Albuquerque, El Paso, Dallas, and has been a resident of Moriarty for the past nine years. Grace married Donald R. Duffel on November 27, 2001 in Bullhead City, AZ. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, the Read & Write Adult Literacy, and the Moriarty and Edgewood Chamber. Grace was also the owner of Mountain View Auto and Diesel Inc. Grace was preceded in death by her father, Victor Badtram. FLEMING -- David Fleming, 73, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Dottie Fleming; his sister Janice Posey of Camden, SC; and nephew Marshall Posey of Chesterfield, VA. David was born in Charleston, WV and raised by loving parents Omer and Helene Fleming. At age 15, he survived polio and went on to attend West Virginia University and Rutgers University. He was a 17 year resident of Albuquerque, NM, where he recently retired from Qwest Corporation. David came from Florida to the southwest in 1966 where he was employed with the Albert Mathias Company for 24 years. He first worked in the sales department in Albuquerque and then in El Paso, TX as Operations Manager for 23 years. FRESQUEZ -- Tillie S. Fresquez, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to David and Mercedes Sanchez on December 6, 1929 in Belen, NM. Tillie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family and her friends. She was a well-known realtor who was always generous with her time and talent, and made life-long friends of her clients. Tillie took care of us all; she gave everyone the gift of her strength which will live on in each of us forever. Tillie is survived by her husband, of 51 years, Alvino E. GREELEY -- Laura Ann Greeley, 87, died peacefully at home, Thursday, September 25, 2008 following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born Monday, May 29, 1922 in Roy, NM to the late Euphemia and Ernesto Amador. Laura was the oldest of 12 brothers and sisters and attended school in Bernalillo, NM. She served in the U.S. Army Women's Corp during WWII. For many years she was a licensed cosmetologist and ran numerous beauty salons. After relocating to Gulfport, Mississippi with her beloved husband, Ross Greeley, she was able to achieve her life long dream of opening and running her own salon, "Laura's New Image". Laura is survived by her loving daughter, Peggy Walters, who cared for her diligently all through her illness; two granddaughters, Cheri McQueen, Desiree Vaelei; four great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished, Jordan Vaelei, Ashlynn Bilich, Austin and Chelsie McQueen; five sisters, Viola Folkins, Marie (Ed) Carlton, Adela Amador, Orlina Johnson, Amalia Bridgman and four brothers, Ernest, John, Roger and Sammy Amador. GROOMS -- Alan Kent Grooms, 69, passed away, surrounded by his family, peacefully at home in Chino, CA on September 19, 2008. Alan is survived by his wife Gail; daughters Ginny and Rhonda; son Erik, daughter-in-law Angelica; son-in-law Jay; and grandchildren Brandy, Megan, Melissa, Emily, Jay II, and Erik II. Alan, a l957 graduate of Albuquerque High School, moved to California in l973 where he met his wife Gail and together raised their family. In 2005, Alan retired to his vacation home in Bullhead City, AZ where he loved to take his boat to the lake and fish, took pictures of the magnificent sunsets, and played ball with his Maltese dogs, Taffy and Krissy. HENNINGSEN -- Timothy Glen Henningsen, a resident of Littleton, CO died Saturday, September 20, 2008 in Denver, CO at age 38. He is survived by his wife, Susan and son Joshua Glen of Littleton; his father Tom Henningsen and wife, Kate of Albuquerque, NM; his mother Mary Smiroldo and husband, Charles of Rio Rancho, NM, his brother Michael Henningsen and wife Danette Townsend of Sandia Park, NM; his sister Kristin Schwarz and husband, Todd of Rio Rancho; niece and nephew Alison and Jack Schwarz of Rio Rancho; and countless other family and friends. Tim was born July 2, 1970 in Albuquerque, NM, where he lived until joining the United States Army in 1988 at the age of 18. Spec. Tim Henningsen served his country honorably for three years, spending much of that time stationed abroad in South Korea. Tim received the Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service ribbon, M16 Rifle Marksman, Hand Grenade Expert, and the Army Lapel Button. Upon his discharge from the Army in 1991, Tim lived for a year-and-a-half in Albuquerque before moving to Greeley, CO, then to Ft. Collins where he met Susan, his wife-to-be, in 1994. Tim and Susan moved from Ft. Collins, CO to Lincoln City, OR on Valentine's Day, 1997, then to Albuquerque six months later. The couple was married on New Year's Day, 1998 at the Chapel by the Courthouse in Las Vegas, NV. They returned to Albuquerque following their wedding, where they lived for two years before moving to Iowa City, IA in 2000. Their son, Joshua Glen, was born in Iowa City on August 5, 2001. In 2004, Tim and his family moved to Grand Junction, CO, and two years later to Littleton, CO. Tim was a ravenous music fan, and an accomplished rock drummer who also dabbled in guitar and bass. His love for music began with the rock group KISS, whom he discovered at the age of seven, and progressed throughout his life to encompass, rock, punk, metal, jazz, R&B, soul, gospel, and classical. His ceaseless desire for new music across a wide range of genres was a lifelong quest that gave him great pleasure and comfort. Tim saw hundreds of live shows during his life, from KISS and Buddy Rich to Mike Watt and Stevie Wonder - the list is almost endless - and he loved just about every show he ever saw. He played in numerous garage and club bands - some of them with his brother - and made several recordings, a few of which he would actually consider listenable. Aside from music, most of Tim's other prominent pastimes took place outdoors. He loved to fish, rock climb, ride motorcycles, camp and just be in the wilderness. He was content to wander off into the woods by himself, but often found himself in the company of friends and family who couldn't get enough of his ironic sense of humor, quick wit, and charming companionship. He was the life of every party, the sparkle in every eye and a soulful, passionate person who cared deeply for his family and friends. Tim was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan who relished any opportunity to wear The Blue Star, even in a town full of Broncos fans. And that was Tim's way - to live according to his convictions, regardless of the circumstances or what other people thought. He knew no fear. Tim left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of being part of his life, and he was a devoted father whose greatest pleasure was seeing his son smile. And he was responsible for many of those little Joshua Grins. His sense of humor, his candor, his kindheartedness, and his free spirit were an inspiration to all who knew him, and that's what they will miss most. For those who knew him best, there is comfort here: Tim is, for all-time, happy, joyous and free. HERRERA -- Clorinda (Cora) M. Herrera, 78, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 27, 2008. HOGATE -- Betty Jane Hogate, 84, a longtime resident of Placitas and Albuquerque, died Sunday, September 21, 2008, at the Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque, NM. Betty was born June 22, 1924, in Astoria, IL, to Gilbert F. and Hildur Marie (Malmberg) Bader. She grew up in Illinois and Kansas, and attended nurses training before marrying Morris Bateman Hogate. She lived in Illinois for many years. Upon retirement in 1987, she moved to Placitas, NM. She loved the Southwest, and enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. She is survived by her daughter, Hildy L. Hogate, of Placitas, NM; two granddaughters, Chris Aubry, of Ottawa, IL, and Cathy Rider, of Lawson, MO; her daughter-in-law, Mary Hogate, of Mendota, IL; three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. HOPPER -- MARTHA P. HOPPER born 23 February 1946 near Olympia, Greece, passed away on 24 September 2008 with her husband at her side following a brief illness. A beloved wife, mother, and Grandmother, Martha enjoyed traveling to her summertime home in the magical seaside village of Ermioni, Greece, near the islands of Hydra, and Spetses. As an Air Force wife, Martha spent many years in Greece, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Martha worked for many years in the Cosmetics business, and as an aesthetician. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorios and Athanasia Papalimberiou, her sister Dimitra, and her brother, Limberi. She is survived by her husband, William Hopper of Rio Rancho, NM; her daughter, Dorinda Komis and son-in-law, Peter B. HUTCHINS -- Curtis DuWayne Hutchins, 48, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008, after a brief battle with cancer. Curtis was born on December 28, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky, the last of his parents' five children. KOZOLWSKI -- M. Alice "Taffy" Kozlowski fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, September 26th at Anna Kaseman Hospice after a brief illness. Mrs. Kozlowski was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, having served the city through many years as a dedicated employee of Mountain Bell, where she was proud to be one of the first bilingual telephone operators. LINDSAY -- Lella (Dee) Ardenia Lindsay Dee Lindsay, born December 1, 1935 in Lucy, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2008. LOVATO -- Ubaldo, 76, a resident of Cuba New Mexico, passed away September 25, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ubaldo was preceded in death by his father and mother, Meliton and Fermina Lovato, sister, Georgia Herrera, son Davy Lovato, daughter Carla Lovato and grandson, Michael Lovato. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Rufina; sister, Emma Lovato; sons, Orlando Lovato and wife, Margaret, Ubaldo Lovato Jr., and Matthew Lovato; daughters, Angie Armijo and husband, Bobby, Diane Cordova and partner, Roy Gonzales, Kathy Lovato and his consentido, Santos Lovato, whom he liked to play with and make funny faces; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; special brother-in-law, Sefe Montoya and wife, Connie, Martha Owens, whom he used to call his adopted daughter, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Ubaldo also served two terms in office as County Commissioner for Sandoval County. Ubaldo loved politics and was well known and respected. Ubaldo loved going to Juarez, Mexico with his family and friends where he loved to listen to the Mariachis sing to him, and visit with the many local friends he had there. LUNA -- Procopio Erculano "Lano" Luna, age 76, a life-long resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at home with his loving family by his side. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. After his father, Procopio passed away when he was still a teen, Lano went to work as a machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad. He continued to work there for 43 years of outstanding service until his retirement. Lano and his wife, Mary Jane cared and provided for his mother, Mercedes and his sisters, Adela and Mary. Lano still lived in the home in which he and his sisters grew up. He was well known as a mechanic and in the late 1970's he and his sons built a garage behind his home where he continued to work on cars for many years. Lano was also known for his matanza's, a tradition his sons and grandsons continue to carry on as a tribute to him. Lano was preceded in death by his parents, Procopio and Mercedes Luna; his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Mary Jane Luna; son, Arnold Luna; two sisters, Mary Baca and Adela Padilla; two sisters-in-law, Rosie Baca and husband, David and Sally Datallo; and two brothers-in-law, Leo and Tony Sanchez. MOTT -- Louise Park Hendrix Mott, age 85, died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at her home in Albuquerque. She was born November 5, 1922 at home in Idabel, OK to Joe and Esther Hendrix. Louise graduated from Idabel Gray High school and Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK in 1944. She worked for several years at the Naval Ammunition Depot in McAlester, OK. She then moved to Albuquerque where she had a civil service job at Sandia Base. In 1965 she flew to Izmir, Turkey where she married Lt. Col. Maurice Kent Mott who was serving in the Air Force. They lived there around two years, being transferred to Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL, then moving to Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan. When Maurice retired from the Air Force, they returned to Albuquerque. Louise was a member of the Central United Methodist Church. During her spare time she loved to play golf and music on her organ at home. She is survived by her twin sister, Eloise Poston of Clarinda, IA and two other sisters, Mary Nash and husband, Norman of Alexandria, VA and Emilie Fulton and husband, Tom of Sugar Land, TX. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews and her husband's brother and sisters; friends Jo Balthrop, Sue and Jess Karler and long time friend of over 50 years, Betty Hess. PARKINS -- Lt. Todd Barry Parkins, 38, resident of Sandia Park passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Susan Parkins; sons, Owen and Austin; father, Barry Parkins and wife, Roxanne; mother, Kimberly Clifton and husband, Marty; brothers, Daniel Parkins and wife, Kelly and Josh Parkins and wife, Jennifer; and three nephews and one niece. Todd was born in Shreveport, LA and raised in Palos Verdes, CA. He loved horses and the outdoors and was a Grand National World Champion horseback rider. Todd was a graduate of Baylor University. Following in many family member's footsteps, he started his career with the Albuquerque Police Department and worked his way to becoming a lieutenant in the Traffic Unit. Todd was a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Mountain Christian Church. The most important aspect of Todd's life was his wife and two sons. He spent his leisure time camping and fly fishing with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. PARUTA -- Jaunita R. Paruta, 93, went to the Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph and her daughter, Betty. Jaunita was born in Winfield, KS to Mary Olive and Elbridge Williams. She was the youngest of eight children. The Paruta's moved to Albuquerque in 1949. For nearly 20 years, Jaunita was a cashier for Barber's Supermarket and later Foodway Stores. She then became a military cashier at Kirtland for nine years. Jaunita enjoyed reading, sewing clothes for herself and her daughter, quilting, crocheting, traveling and going to craft shows with her daughter. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Women's Guild. PATTERSON -- Christine Tryens Patterson, 57, passed away on September 21, 2008 after a lifelong fight against the effects of rheumatoid arthritis. Chris was born in Wilmington, DE and spent her childhood there. She graduated from Ursuline Academy and Brandywine College. She moved to Albuquerque in 1977. Chris is survived by her son, Daniel Tryens and his wife, Mandy; and her former husband and dear friend, Bill Tryens of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Fitzpatrick, Kathy King, John Szabo, Joanne Corrao and Beth Sheehy and their families. She was predeceased by her husband, Steven Patterson; her parents, Stephen and Frances Szabo; her brother, Jerry Szabo; and her nephew, Michael Sheehy. POLITO -- Eugene (Gene) R. Polito, 79, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Gene was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on September 7, 1929, and relocated to Albuquerque, NM in 1960. Gene proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a cancer and stroke survivor, as well a number of other illnesses over the past 13 years that could have taken his life, but the Lord saw fit to leave him with us until now. Gene was a life long Pittsburgh Steeler fan, and never turned down an opportunity to visit the nickel slot machines, or snack on his favorite dessert! He retired from Sandia National Laboratories, and was a long time member of Elks Lodge #461, as well as John XXIII Catholic Community. His mother, Antionette; his father, Joseph; his brother, Anthony; his sister, Dolores; and his brother, Joseph preceded Gene in death. Phyllis, his wife of 54 years; his son, Gene and daughter-in-law Joan, of Albuquerque; his daughter, Lisa and son-in-law Rick of Las Vegas, NV; his son, Tony and daughter-in-law Audrey, of Atlanta, GA; and his son, Andy and daughter-in-law Kelli and grandsons Joey and Dominic, of Seattle, WA; as well as a large extended family in Pennsylvania and Albuquerque survive Gene. SCHAEFER -- Judith Rae Schaefer "Judi" Judi was born on 8-25-1948 in Riverton, Wyoming, and passed on 9-27-2008. She was a launch director for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for more than 15 years. Judi worked in the Workers' Compensation field for over 35 years where she developed many lasting friendships. Judi loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was especially supportive at their little league games where she was a constant fixture. Survived by her daughter, Lisa Hertrich and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, along with her four grandchildren, Taryn, Gavin, Grayson and Ashtyn, who were the absolute light of her life. STURGESS -- Beverly M. Sturgess, 71, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Sept 25, 2008. Mrs. Sturgess is survived by her sons, Chris Sturgess and wife, Stacy Scott-Sturgess and Tim Sturgess and wife, Michelle Sturgess; grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Jeremy, Emily, Lucas and Caty. Beverly was a longtime member of Los Altos Christian Church where she was active in the choir and was the organist at one time. She was also an active member of PEO and Church Women United. TATUM -- Dr. Burl C. Tatum, 81, a long time resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, September 26, 2008. Dr. Tatum is survived by his children, Johnnie Kelley of Benbrook, TX, Dr. Troy Tatum and wife, Judy of Port Orange, FL; two step-children, Janet Abdinor and Rodney Yoak; four grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one sister, Mary Terry and two brothers, Wayne and Doyle Tatum. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene; daughter Linda Carpenter and great grandson, Steven Carpenter. Burl served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church and was an officer with the Albuquerque Police Department for eight years. After graduating from Palmer Chiropractic College, he practiced chiropractic in Albuquerque for 25 years. THOMSON -- Dorothy Mae Thomson passed from this life on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 after a very long battle with cancer, during which time she was attended by many kind and loving people from Hospice of the Sandias. She was born in New Brunswick, Canada on February 5, 1921 to Albert Dwight and Clara (Belyea) Smith. She was preceded in death by John W. Thomson, her husband and best friend for 57 years; and three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Billie Claire Lovato and husband, Louie W. Lovato and Luella Jane Lingamfelter and husband, Christian. Surviving grandchildren are John Mark Lovato and wife, Rebecca and great-granddaughter, Rachael Miriam Lovato, Jessica Dorthea Morning and husband, Francis, Daniel Lingamfelter and wife, Sarah, and Heidi J. Lingamfelter. Also, she has one surviving brother, Arthur W. Smith of Bangor, ME and several nieces and nephews, as well as many loving neighbors and friends. She married John during WWII and together they were stationed in many places in the United States as well as in Japan and Okinawa. After John retired from the Air Force they fell in love with Albuquerque and lived here for 41 years. Dorothy was an artist and was active in many organizations during her life. A few among those activities were: The Gray Ladies, Officers' Wives' Club, Pen Women, Nor Este Art League, Assistance League of Albuquerque, First Presbyterian Church as a deaconess, and a member of Bible Study Fellowship. WALKER -- Patricia Walker, 72, a homemaker who cherished spending time with her family, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 in her home in Albuquerque. Patricia is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth; son, Kenneth; seven daughters, Patricia Walker-Geoghegan, Judith Hosmer, Agnes Delgado, Debra Werner, Denise Walker, Elizabeth Scanzani and Elise Walker-Tirado; a brother, John Murphy; three sisters, Irene McConville, Margaret Boyle and Audrey Olsen; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Patricia was born in Manhattan as Patricia Murphy. She spent her summers as a child on Oakwood Beach where her family maintained a summer residence. She moved to Oakwood in 1945, and to South Beach in 1953. Patricia settled in New Mexico in 1988. She was a mother of eight children, including two sets of twin daughters, and loved spending time with her husband, Kenneth. "My mother met my dad after he returned from the Korean War," said her daughter, Patricia Walker-Geoghegan. "They were dancing at Tappen Post in Stapleton and fell in love." Mrs. Walker enjoyed ballroom dancing, swimming, playing Scrabble, reading mystery novels, and listening to music. Cremation has occurred, and a private Memorial Service was held. WELSH -- Dr. Clinton Francis Welsh of Las Cruces died of a sudden heart attack on September 13, 2008. He was born February 28, 1948, in East Orange, NJ, to Alvin F. and Mary McAnaw Welsh. Clint attended Ripon College and Drew University before serving in the US Army in Korea during the Vietnam era. He completed his undergraduate studies at New Mexico State University and received his MD from the University of New Mexico. He did his Plastic and Reconstructive surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia and began his private practice in Las Cruces in 1991. He dedicated that practice to improving the quality of life for each and every patient, going beyond the call of duty in terms of providing medical care and reconstructive surgery for cancer patients and others who knew they could always depend on him and his excellent care. Our community will long remember and forever miss not only Clint's exceptional skill and expertise, but also the human touch he brought to the practice of medicine. Clint was a devoted husband, father, and friend, willing to share his natural guidance and wisdom with all who asked. He was a voracious reader, with a dry wit that he used to educate and entertain. He collected antique scientific instruments, especially microscopes, an interest that he developed as a young child. As a teenager, Clint turned his talents and fine motor skills to modifying lawn mower engines, working as an auto mechanic and doing body repair work on Formula 1 race cars. Later, he collected and rebuilt vintage motorcycles and was a stalwart participant on the AHRMA motorcycle racing circuit. His participation in the sport he loved was unconnected to his death. Most recently he was working on his new home and "taj garage". He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Robin Willson Welsh; a son, Clinton Ryan Welsh; a daughter, Madeleine Martha Welsh; two sisters, Mary Celia Welsh and Martha Ann Welsh; a brother-in-law Gordon E. Dehler; two sisters-in-law, Lark Willson and Jaye Willson; a father-in-law, Frank Willson; and his most able assistant, Romi his dog. He is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial reception will be held at 5664 Georgia O' Keefe Road, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2008.
