Ramirez -- Mercy Ramirez, 59, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, June 17, 1999. She is survived by her husband and life partner of 41 years, Juan C. Ramirez; daughter, Ninette Ramirez; son, Chris Ramirez, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Jessica Ramirez, Jennifer Chavez and Marissa Chavez, all of Albuquerque and Krista Lemman of Mesa, AZ; grandsons, Joshua Lemman and Johnathon Lemman of Mesa, AZ and Rudy Chavez of Albuquerque; brother, Jesse Lopez and wife, Delia; sisters, Ramona Saavedra and husband, Carlos, Rita Henson, Connie Gonzales and husband, Gilbert, Josie Aragon and husband, Benny and Laura Trujillo and husband, Carlos; and granddog, Amaretto. Mrs. Ramirez was preceded in death by son, Martin Ramirez; sister, Margaret Prado; and brother, Johnny Lopez. She was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church. Mrs. Ramirez worked as a teachers assistant at Lyndon B. Johnson Middle School. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Gonzales -- Sam A. Gonzales, 37, passed away June 14, 1999. He was a loving husband and father. Sam was preceded in death by his father, Manuel B. Gonzales; and brother, Manuel B. Gonzales Jr. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Jaramillo Gonzales and children, Herminio, Jade and Sean, all of the family home in Albuquerque; mother, Benita A. Gonzales; brothers, Ramon A. Gonzales, Aurelio A. Gonzales, Gabriel Gonzales and wife, Christine; sister, Anna Maria Gonzales and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends who loved and will miss him very much. Funeral services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church in Grants, NM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 1999, with burial to follow at Grants Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ramon Gonzales, Aurelio Gonzales, Gabriel Gonzales, Andres Gonzales, John Paul Aguilar, and Manuel Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be his uncles. Gonzales -- Patricio Antonio Gonzales, 51, a resident of Cedar Crest, NM, passed away Friday, June 11, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Rose Gonzales of Cedar Crest; three children, Dominic Gonzales of Cubero, NM, Gina Garcia of Albuquerque, and Metilda Gonzales of Trinidad, CO. Other survivors include his mother, Dolores Baca of Albuquerque; three brothers, Gilbert Gonzales and wife, Cecilia of Farmington, Danny Gonzales and wife, Arcelia of Albuquerque, John Martin Baca of Albuquerque; four sisters, Nora Hurley and husband, Bill of Albuquerque, Carol Johnson of Albuquerque, Maria Casaus of Tajique, NM, and Jane Sedillo of Albuquerque; and six grandchildren. Mr. Gonzales was a veteran, having served four tours in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. Mr. Gonzales was a lifetime member of the M.O.P.H. and the D.A.V. Chapter 1966, where he was an Adjutant & C.F.O. & C.S.O. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Gonzales. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning, 10:00 a.m., at the San Antonio Catholic Church, in San Antonio, NM. Interment to follow at the San Antonio Catholic Cemetery. Carrillo -- Mrs. Beatrice M. Carrillo, 85, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on June 8, 1999. Mrs. Carrillo is survived by two daughters, Mary Davis and husband, David L. of Amarillo, TX and Mary Ann Nunez; two sons, John Carrillo and Michael Carrillo and wife, Martye of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren, Rita Ann, Cindy, Phillip, Julie, Juanita, Jose, Lorenzo, Tanya and Michelle; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Zachrias Carrillo, 1994. Mrs. Carrillo was a member of the Catholic church. A rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW with visitation after 6:30 p.m. Gabriella Nieto, reciting. A Communion Service will be held Friday Morning at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco S.W. with final visitation at the church after 8:30 a.m., Deacon Enrique Padilla, officiating. Romero -- Pat Romero, 78, a lifelong resident and well-known Las Vegas businessman, passed away Thursday night at his home here in Las Vegas with his loving family at his side. He was born on November 22, 1920 in Las Vegas to the late Rosalio and Antonia Romero. He was united in marriage to Josie Duran on August 26, 1940. Pat was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Parish. During World War II, Pat worked in Oakland at the shipyards. Then he moved to Pueblo, Colorado to work at the steelmill. In 1942, Pat began working at Los Alamos as a painter. Later, he began driving semi-trucks for Herman Spiess. Through his experience, Pat began selling feed and hay in 1951. In 1952, Pat brought the business from Mrs. Spiess and expanded to what is known today as Pat Romero Feed and Supply. Pat has been a well-respected businessman for over 47 years. Pat was very politically involved. He served as San Miguel County Sheriff for four years, San Miguel Magistrate and Municipal Judge for 16 years, and a Las Vegas Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem for four years. Pat was preceded in death by his three sons, Tony, Eloy and Benny Romero; his mother, Antonia Herrera; his father, Rosalio Romero; sisters, Helena Herrera and Josephita Garcia; brother, Joaquin Romero; brothers-in-law, Catalino Vigil, Jake Garcia, Tommy Casados, Ernest Duran, Tony Duran, Frank Duran; sisters-in-law, Anne Romero and Juanita Romero; son-in-law, Daniel Maes; and daughter-in-law, Patsy Romero. Pat is survived by his loving wife, Josie of 58 years of marriage of Las Vegas; three sons, Pat Romero Jr. and fiancee, Barbara, Lee and his wife, Helen and Jimmy and his wife, Olivia, all of Albuquerque; seven daughters, Frances and her husband, Leroy Lucero of La Junta, CO, Becky and friend, Mike Lopez of Las Vegas, Irene and her husband, Walter Woods of Salt Lake City, UT, Virginia and her husband, John Bonney of Los Chavez, NM, Yolanda and her husband, Luis Chavira, Geraldine and her husband, Mark Baca, and Linda Mae and her husband, Tony Trujillo, all of Las Vegas; a daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Romero of Las Vegas; ex-daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Romero of Albuquerque; two brothers, Dan and Joe Romero and his wife, Lala of Las Vegas; three sisters, Donaciana Vigil and Mary Warsaw, both of Las Vegas and Rita Chavez and her husband, Pat of Albuquerque; brothers-in-law, Feliciano Herrera of Cleveland, Lee Duran and his wife, Hope, Manuel Duran and his wife, Mary, all of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Alice Romero of Laredo, TX, Anita and Lucy Duran, both of Albuquerque and Josie Duran of Las Vegas; 29 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m., from the Immaculate Conception Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 11:00 a.m., also from the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. A visitation will beheld all day Sunday in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd., up until 5:00 p.m. Flowers have not been omitted, but a Memorial Scholarship Fund, in memory of Pat Romero, has been established. Garcia -- Peggy (Pilar) Garcia, 77, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 27, 1999. Mrs. Garcia was a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, a member of the St. Anne's Women's Society; she was a Top Graduate in Medical Terminology and was a very loving person. She is survived by one daughter, Lily Leal; one son, Floyd Garcia; ten grandchildren, Marie Aragon, Angie Perkins, Peggy Ann Padilla, Anadine Garcia, Louie Garcia, Roberta Lopez, Dorella Lopez, Sonya Leal, Jenell Garcia and Ricky Garcia; ten great-grandchildren, Rey Caire II, April Caire, Daniel Perkins, Gabriel Perkins, Victoria Jaramillo, Venessa Jaramillo, Angelica Leal, DeAnn Nieto, Jesus Nieto and Steven Garcia; three great-great-grandchildren, Joshua Caire, Samantha Caire and Rian Caire. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Mass of Christian will be celebrated this morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Parish. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Vallejos -- Mary Inez Vallejos, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 26, 1999. Ms. Vallejos is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Baird and husband, Jim and Mary Ann Flores and husband, Fernando; two sisters, Enriqueta Gonzales and Rosa Gallegos; two brothers, Steve Saavedra and wife, Vina and Christobal Saavedra Sr. and wife, Julia; seven grandchildren, Rochelle, Mark, Veronica, Monica, Fernando, Frank and Kenneth; 19 great-grandchildren, Marciano, Armando, Ryan, Noah, Mathew, Anndrea, David, Daniel, Chris, Joshua, Jacob, Damian, Frankie, Derick, Sarah, Luke, Jacqulyn, Justin and Joshua. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Miguela Saavedra; brothers, Marcelino and Victor; and one son, Sonny. She was a member of the Catholic Church, Holy Family Senior Center, participated in the Senior Olympics, Sacred Heart League, Blue Army, and sang in the choir. She was the strength of the entire family. When the family needed a special prayer answered we went to her. Candelaria -- Richard M. Candelaria, 72, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 22, 1999. He is survived by his half-brother, Jose M. Candelaria and wife, Oralia from Lompoc, CA; his aunt, Aurelia P. Maes; and close cousin, Gloria Gonzales and husband, Willie and family of Albuquerque; another cousin, Tony Lucero of Seattle, WA; and a very dear friend, Jackie Chavez and children, Cassandra and Jessie and family; and many other friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by his brother, Cirilo McClure; and his parents. Richard worked for close to 30 years at the Dog House as a cook. he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at Sacred Heart Church at 7:30 p.m. by Deacon Tom Perez. Mass will take place on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jim Moore and Deacon Tom Perez. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
