He is survived by his children, Adrian Sanchez, David Anaya, Arleen Anaya, and Diane Anaya; grandson, Marcos Garcia; ex-wife, Yolanda; parents, Jose F., Maxine Anaya; brothers, Jose F. Andersen -- Raymonde Andersen, age 78, passed away on May 23, 1999. She was born to Julius and Yvonne Egenhoff in Oakland, CA on April 12, 1921. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Andersen of Rio Rancho; children, Wendy Ross Estes and husband, Michael of Warren, MI and Robert Ross and wife, Joan of Albany, NY; brother, Victor Nouet and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Stephanie, Susannah, Carl and Johanna; great-grandchild, James; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Nemeth and her first husband, Adam Ross. Mrs. Andersen had lived in this area for ten years. She was very athletic and loved to play tennis and bowl on leagues. She was active in the Retired Officer's Association. Mrs. Andersen was very devoted to her husband and home. She also loved playing bridge at Meadowlark Senior Center with all her friends. Before retirement, Mrs. Andersen was employed as a dental assistant. Baca -- Agneda (Agatha) Baca, born San Jose, New Mexico June 22, 1897, passed away in California on May 22, 1999. She was a resident of Bernalillo from 1923 to 1954 when she moved to California. She is survived by eight children, daughters, Sister Agneda from Kentucky, Mary from Farmington, Clorinda, Isabel and Angelica from California; sons, Benny, Henry, Horacio, and Keno Baca also from California; two sisters, Ofelia from San Jose, NM and Valentina from Santa Fe, NM; over 40 grandchildren; over 80 great-grandchildren and over 40 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held in Monrovia, California. She was loved and will be missed by all. She led a very long and healthy life.

Bridgers -- Frances Young Bridgers, 77, of Gulf Breeze, Florida died Saturday, April 17th, 1999. Funeral services were April 20th, and she was laid to rest at Rose Lawn Cemetery, in Gulf Breeze. She was married for 51 years to John Bridgers, retired football coach and former athletic director of Florida State and the University of New Mexico. John and Frances Bridgers resided in Albuquerque from 1979 to 1987. Mrs. Bridgers was born Frances Hamilton Young, the daughter of a well known physician in Florence, Alabama. She is best remembered for her gracious Southern charm and her devotion as a wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia McMahan Stewart. She is survived by her husband, John Bridgers of Gulf Breeze, Florida; two sons, Dixon Bridgers and his wife, Anne Horne Bridgers of Mobile, Ala. and Donald H. Bridgers and his wife, Janet Potter Bridgers of Albuquerque, NM; five granddaughters, Jenni Grove, Penny Smith and Missi Frazier of Waco, TX, Leslie and Lucy Bridgers of Mobile, Ala.; and two grandsons, Daniel and Aaron Bridgers of Albuquerque.

Bustamante -- Joseph M. Bustamante, 55, a longtime resident of May 21, 1999. Joseph was born March 22, 1944 in Santa Fe, the son of Albino and Tomasita Rivera Bustamante. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Albino and Tomasita Bustamante; one sister, Susie Templeton; and one brother, Luciano Bustamante; one niece, Victoria Bustamante; and one nephew, Gillie Lopez. He is survived by two brothers, Santiago Bustamante and his wife, Femia of Santa Fe, Albino Bustamante and his wife, Theresa of Albuquerque; four sisters, Rosaline Lopez and husband, Gilbert of Las Vegas, NM, Dolores Roybal of Albuquerque, Jane Crespin and husband, Ben of La Habra, CA and Tomasita A. Bustamante of Los Alamos, NM; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Bustamante of Belen. He is also survived by 27 nephews and nieces; 29 great-nephews and nieces; and six great-great-nephews and nieces. A musical tribute and memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Candelaria -- Richard M. Candelaria, 72, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 22, 1999. He is survived by his half-brother, Jose M. Candelaria and wife, Oralia from Lompoc, CA; his aunt, Aurelia P. Maes; and close cousin, Gloria Gonzales and husband, Willie and family of Albuquerque; another cousin, Tony Lucero of Seattle, WA; and a very dear friend, Jackie Chavez and children, Cassandra and Jessie and family; and many other friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by his brother, Cirilo McClure; and his parents. Richard worked for close to 30 years at the Dog House as a cook. he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at Sacred Heart Church at 7:30 p.m. by Deacon Tom Perez. Mass will take place on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jim Moore and Deacon Tom Perez. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Garms -- Elsa Garms, 94, a resident of Ruidoso, NM, was called home to be with the Lord on May 23, 1999. Elsa moved to Albuquerque in 1970 and later moved to Belen where she lived for many years. Griego -- Arthur J. Griego, 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 24, 1999. Mr. Griego was a parishioner of St. Charles Catholic Church; he served his country in the United States Army during World War II. His hobbies were singing, fishing and hunting; he enjoyed the outdoors, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Griego; and a grandson, Ray Sedillo. He is survived by his loving wife, Cipi Griego; one son, Leroy Griego and wife, Kathy of Rio Rancho; two daughters, Odelia Sedillo and husband, Ramon, Betty Griego, both of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Toby J. Griego and wife, Annie; two sisters, Emma Gabaldon, Margie Apodaca and husband, Manuel; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Hunter -- Dorothy"Dot" Carlini Hunter, age 75, died in Los Alamos on Saturday, May 22, 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Mrs. Hunter married her husband, Robert, in 1953. She was employed by the Zia Company as a secretary and Santa Fe Builders. She was a member of Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert Hunter of Los Alamos; daughter, Diana Hunter and her husband, Daryl Dorcy of Austin, TX; granddaughter, Nicole Hunter Dorcy of Austin, TX; step-son, Ted Hunter and wife, Sharon of Santa Fe; sisters, Enola Massaroni of Albuquerque, Elizabeth Rhodes of Marietta, OH; step-grandchildren, William Hunter of Los Alamos, Amy Troupe of Albuquerque and Ashley Hunter of Los Alamos. King -- 1911-1999 Bert Q. King, 87, a resident of Belen, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 1999. He was preceded in death by three sons, Brad King, Robin King, and Kim King. He is survived by his loving wife, Tillie C. O'malley -- James E. O'Malley passed away peacefully at his home, Saturday, May 22, 1999. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Christine; daughter, Caryn; sons, Martin, John and Brian, all of Albuquerque; and son, Michael of Taos. Other family members include daughters-in-law, Linda, Karen and Michaela O'Malley of Albuquerque, Sarah Adams of Taos; and son-in-law, Ted Barre of Albuquerque. James was also blessed with seven loving grandchildren, Colin and Lieutenant Derek O'Malley, Kenneth O'Malley, Ryan and Sean Barre, and Shane and Erin O'Malley. Following 20 years of dedicated service, James retired as a decorated Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army. He brought his family to Albuquerque in 1962 where he became coordinator of the"Executive Association of Greater Albuquerque", until his retirement in June of 1981. James and Christine loved traveling together, making several trips to Europe, South America, Hawaii and Canada. James was a devoted husband and family man with a deep Catholic faith and a longstanding member of John XXIII Catholic Parish. Oakley -- Gordon B. Oakley, 90, died Saturday, May 22, 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Shirley McConahy and husband, Gary of Albuquerque; son, Leonard Oakley and wife, Elizabeth of Missoula, MT; granddaughters, Sandra Swanson and Lisa McConahy-Ingram and husband, Dean; grandson, Mark McConahy and wife, Connie; great-grandsons, Jarrett McConahy, Kyle McConahy, and Zachary Ingram; great-granddaughter, Rebecca Ingram, all of Albuquerque; grandsons, Russell Oakley and wife, Leanne of Golden, CO, and Richard Oakley and wife, Angela; and great-grandsons, Andrew Oakley and Alex Oakley, all of Anchorage, AK. Mr. Oakley was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Oakley. He was born in Marysville, KS and moved to New Mexico in 1939. Mr. Oakley worked for TWA for 35 years as an aircraft mechanic. He was a faithful member of Del Norte Baptist Church. Mr. Oakley enjoyed amateur radio, RC model plane building, fishing and boating. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Romero -- Kenneth (Kenny) T. Romero, a resident of Belen, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 1999. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Kenny was owner and operator of Westar Metals of Belen. He was preceded in death by his cousins, Chris (Sparky) Torres in 1997, and Roy Griego in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Esther of Belen; four children, Kristen, Kenny, Dustin, and Paula, all of Belen; his parents, Bences and Marian Romero of Contreras, NM; maternal grandmother, Paublita Moya of Contreras, NM; paternal grandparents, Jacobo and Oralia Romero of Las Nutrias, NM. Kenny is also survived by many loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Saiz-Martinez -- Saiz- Christine (Merlinda) Saiz-Martinez, 47, passed away with her loved ones at her side on May 22, 1999 at her home in Chamita, New Mexico. Mrs. Martinez worked for the New Mexico Department of Human Services in Espanola. She was raised in Albuquerque and was a graduate of Albuquerque High. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pilar and Brigida Saiz. She is survived by her husband, Leo Martinez; and a daughter, Bridgid of the home in Chamita; a step-son, Leo Martinez Jr. of Santa Fe. She is also survived by her motherly sister, Tomasita Saiz-Mirabal; sisters, Mary and husband, Panfilo Sanchez, Marcella Florez, Novie Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Luiz Saiz and wife, Ramona of Albuquerque and Victor Saiz and wife, Elizabeth of Belen; many loving nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. A Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 24, 1999, at St. John the Baptist Church in San Juan Pueblo. Sanchez -- Juan G. Sanchez, 51, died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 20, 1947 in Albuquerque. A retired boxing coach, he was a 22 year resident of North Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his wife, Patsy of Las Vegas, NV; sons, Juan Jr., Fernando and Augustine; daughters, Vanessa Maldonado and Vienza, all of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Harry; sister, Diana Gutierrez; mother, Oligia; father, Lupe, all of Albuquerque; and nine grandchildren. Self -- After a 13 year courageous battle with cancer, Leslie S. Self, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, passed away Monday, May 24, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Randy S. Self of Albuquerque; daughter, Jennifer Wilkerson, M.D. and husband, Donnie of Dallas, TX; daughters by marriage, Lisa Bradley and fiance, Steven Ortega and Julie Barr and husband, Andrew, all of Albuquerque; grandson, Tyler Wilkerson of Dallas, TX; mother, Loraine L. Sweeney of Albuquerque; sisters, Gail Walker and husband, Jim of Albuquerque and Terry Sweeney of Pennsylvania. Leslie was preceded in death by her father, George A. Sweeney. She was a great fan and supporter of Lobo Athletics. Leslie was responsible for the Leslie S. Self Inspirational Award, which is presented to a female athlete each year. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, San Marcial #34. Leslie attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Stover -- James R. Stover Sr., 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 1999. Born in Pennsylvania, he relocated to Utah in 1955 and then to New Mexico in 1972. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He retired as a uranium miner and later his family owned and operated Rio Puerco Chevron and Restaurant. James was preceded in death by his younger son; father, mother; and sister. James was a dedicated family man and is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years; one son; and three daughters; as well as nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 1999, 11:00 a.m., at All Saints Lutheran Church. He will be laid to rest next to his loving son. Tejada -- Jacob Tejada, 82, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, May 23, 1999. He was born September 8, 1916 near Wagon Mound, New Mexico, and spent his career dealing with agriculture and assisting rural families and farmers in New Mexico and Latin America. Survivors include his wife, Lina of 55 years; his children, Rev. Dennis J. Tejada, Rita Gordon, Bernice Castelo, Pierre Tejada, and Grace Cataldo. Other survivors include five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The Prayer Vigil will be held Tuesday, May 25, 199 at 7:00 p.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina where the Funeral Liturgy will be concelebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 1999, with Bishop Ricardo Ramirez, CSB, presiding. The Rite of Committal and interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jacob Tejada Memorial Scholarship Fund at NMSU, P.O. Box 30003, 3 AG, Attn: Development Office, Las Cruces, NM 88003. Tipton -- Marie S. Tipton, age 83, passed away May 23, 1999 in Albuquerque following an illness. Marie was born September 26, 1915 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Albert and Dolores Patron Tipton. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Marie worked as a clerk for Mountain Bell Telephone in Santa Rosa for 30 years. She made her home in Albuquerque in 1973. Marie was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents. Marie is survived by her sisters, Lucille Tipton and Corinne Whallon, both of Santa Rosa; a brother, Jess Tipton of Lodi, CA; a niece, Anna Womack of Albuquerque; and a great-nephew, Rian Collins of Albuquerque. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Serving as pallbearers are Charles Womack, Scott Womack, Rian Collins, Rex Collins, Simon Serrano and Robert Racel. Torres -- Bernadette (Berna) Molina Torres, 47, a lifelong resident of Belen, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 1999. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She belonged to the Organ and Tissue Donors Foundation for many years. Berna was a well known area beautician, retiring in 1984 due to a kidney transplant. She loved children and she cared for and helped raise many area children. The kids grew so attached to her that they all called her Grammy. Her favorite past time was bingo. She is survived by her daughter, Renee Gallucci; two grandchildren, Raquel and Chanelle, all of Belen; a very loving friend, Stephen Francis of Los Alamos; her parents, Filimon Molina of Belen and Andrea Gutierrez and her husband, Morris of Albuquerque; her four sisters and one brother; and her loving nieces and nephews. Berna is also survived by three very special friends, Rose Sanchez, Lillie Baca, and Mildred Garley. There will be a viewing Monday, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jessica Romero-Aragon, Melissa Romero, Nicole Romero, Myra Aragon, Rosie Sullivan, Rose Sanchez, Lillie Baca, and Mildred Garley. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main, Belen.
