Herrington -- Willard E. (Bill) Herrington died Tuesday, January 30, 2001 of heart failure induced by pneumonia. Bill was born in Otteson, Iowa and raised on a farm near Greenville, Illinois. He served twenty-two years in the Army Air Corps and the Navy including a tour in Panama during World War II. He and his wife, Peggy, met in St. Louis, Missouri and lived thirty years in Texas where he owned a convenience store. During this time he served as a Leader in the Boy Scout of America and was an active member of Arlington and Granbury Presbyterian Churches. He and Peggy retired to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1985. Here he was a member of American Legion Post #49, served at St. Martin's Hospitality Center and La Mesa Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed working with the Tuesday Guys Group. Bill enjoyed traveling and was a lover of people as well as an avid painter. Bill was the devoted husband of Peggy James Herrington, who together celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on his 79th birthday, June 11th of last year. He is survived by his wife; his son, Darrell; his sister, Wilma Sweringen; nephews, nieces, aunts, in-laws, cousins and friends. Memorials in lieu of flowers are welcomed by his family for La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper Ave NE, Albq, NM 87108 or the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, 615 Virginia SE, Albq, NM 87108. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2001, at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, followed by burial of cremains at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Montaño -- Mr. Candelario Montano, born February 2, 1924, died Wednesday, January 31, 2001 in Albuquerque at the age of 76. Mr. Montano was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 72. He is survived by his wife, Carmel Montano; sister, Martha Montano; five children, Veronica Montano-Pilch and husband, Martin Pilch, Alex Montano and wife, Jeanette, Catherine Benavidez and Robert Griego, Mary Greene and husband, Edwin, and Leonard Montano and wife, Reyna. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Joseph Montano-Pilch, Mart°n Montano-Pilch, LCPL Joshua Montano USMC and fiancee Christine Todd, Monica Montano, Cynthia Montano, Christina Benavidez, Bernadette Benavidez, Eladio Garcia, Magdalena Garcia and Christian Montano; and his dog, Luna. Candy will be missed by all who loved him. Funeral Services for Mr. Montano will be held on Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Montano, Jorge Lopez, Anthony Romero, Romaldo Gullien, Eladio Garcia and Christian Montano. Carrillo -- Refugio A. Carrillo, 94, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2001. He was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church. He retired from AT & SF Railroad as a trackman after many years of outstanding service. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and two sons, Tony and Johnny Carrillo. He is survived by his beloved wife, Abrana of 66 years; two daughters, Ramona Chavez and her husband, Tony of Los Lunas, Reyna Montano and her husband, Leonard of Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Johnny Talamante and his wife, Eleanore of Los Lunas, Michael Talamante and his wife, Lorraine of Rio Rancho, one very special grandson, Chris Talamante of Los Lunas, Julie A. Barela and her husband, James of Los Lunas, Kimberly Griego and her husband, Martin of Los Lunas; Isidro Romero and his wife, Pat of Albuquerque, Johnnie Romero and his wife, Marlene, Patricia Gibson and her husband, Tracy, Suzanne Romero, Denise Valerio and her husband, Joe, Christian Montano, all of Albuquerque, Rosalie Hawn and her husband, David of MI, Antonio Romero of AZ, Anthony Carrillo and his wife, Kathy, and Robert Carrillo of CA; he is also survived by his numerous loving great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. at the San Clemente Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at San Clemente Church. Gabaldon -- Mrs. Teresa M. Gabaldon, 59, a resident of Moriarity, New Mexico passed away on January 24, 2001. Mrs. Gabaldon is the beloved wife of 33 years to Mr. Santiago Gabaldon. She is also survived by her daughter, Anna Elias and husband, Andy; three sons, Andrew Martinez and girlfriend, Terri, Virgil Martinez and Manuel Gabaldon and wife Sarah; her loving mother, Elvira Salas; two sisters, Mary Agnes Martinez and husband Ernest and Irene Salas; one brother, Secundino Salas and wife Patsy; 12 grandchildren; special angels, Sarah Malone, Susan Albright and Anna Taylor and many other family members and friends. Mrs. Gabaldon was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 8301 Camino San Martin SW with visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m., Georgieanna Hibler, reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at San Martin Catholic Church with final viewing at the church after 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Rich -- Andrew (Andy) Martin Rich, Jr. passed away on Monday, January 22, 2001 in Los Alamos, NM. He was a long time resident of Los Alamos. He was born in Santa Fe, NM in 1931 to Andrew Martin and Margaret Hubbell Rich. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1950, and went on to join the US Navy and also served in the Korena War. Upon return from the service, he went to work for what is now US West in the Santa Fe and the northern New Mexico area. He worked there for 38 years. He came to work on the "hill" in 1966 where he continued until his retirement. He was a caring and loving individual with a great sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a hand where needed. He enjoyed his dancing, fishing, camping, and traveling, and of course his family. He was joyfully involved in the White Rock Senior Center, as well as a member of several service organizations including the B.P.O. Elks, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. He is loved by his entire family, his wife, Sylvia Pritchard Rich; his sisters, Anita Lynch and Cynthia McDonald; his daughters, Deborah Crane and husband, Ronnie Crane, and Linda Rich; his son, Hugh Rich and wife, Mary Rich; his grandchildren, Jason Beal, Joshua Beal, Samantha Rich, Robert Rich, Stephanie Crane, and William Andrew Rich; his great-grandson, Adrian Beal, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2001 at the United Church of Los Alamos. Seddon -- Blanche Elizabeth Seddon ťBettyť, age 81, died Tuesday January 23, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 63 years; Roger Seddon; daughters, Debbie Martinez and husband, David, Carol Martinez and husband, John, Margo Seddon and friend, Susan Bonner all of Albuquerque; sister, Jane Martin of California; grandchildren, Brandon LePore, Marc LePore, Michelle LePore, JT Martinez, Jodi Martinez, Kimberly Martinez; and great-grand-daughter, Halo LePore all of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends. Betty was a partner with her husband, Roger in the operation of Seddon's Antiques, Albuquerque's first and finest Antique store. She worked in their antique shop for over 37 years. Betty was also an involved member of the American Business Women's Association. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 27, 11:00 a.m., at Aspen Funeral Alternatives Chapel, 1935 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE. Bonomo -- Reno J. Bonomo, long time Logan and Quay County Resident died January 15, 2001. Reno J. Bonomo was born June 12, 1931 at Roy, NM. He was a graduate of the Roy High School in 1949. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 1953. He entered the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant upon graduation and retired from the US Army after 22 years of service. He retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel and was at the time of his retirement Commander of the 1203 Tank Unit that saw four combat campaigns during the Viet Nam Conflict. He operated a well service at Roy, NM before moving to Tucumcari where he was Manager of Arch Hurley Conservancy District for five years. He was Village Manager of Logan, NM for approx. four years and was Assistant City Manager for Tucumcari for approx. two and a half years before retiring to Logan, NM. Surviving Reno Bonomo is his wife, Beatrice Bonomo of Logan, NM; two sisters, Colleen Grogan of Raton, NM and Janet Willis of Cedar Crest, NM; one brother, John H. Mahoney of Roy, NM; his step-father, J.A. Mahoney also of Roy, NM; his step-son, Dr. Rick Garcia and wife, JoAnne of Albuquerque, NM; a brother-in-law, Martin Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Mary Lou Bonomo in 1983. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered in the St. Anne's Catholic Church on Thursday, January 25, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. John C. Daniel of St. Anne's Catholic Church officiating. Following his wishes, Reno J. Bonomo has been cremated. Interment of the Cremains will be in the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests for those who wish, donations may be made to New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch, PO Box 5000, Boys Ranch, NM 87002 or to your favorite charity in memory of Reno J. Bonomo.
