Ballejos -- Ciprian Ballejos Sr., 67, resident of Mountainair, NM, loving son, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at University of New Mexico Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Isabel Ballejos of Mountainair; daughter, Mary Frances Lucero and husband, Arthur Lucero; sons, Ciprian Ballejos Jr. and wife, Yolanda Ballejos and Ted Ballejos and wife, Terry Ballejos, all of Mountainair; and daughter, Rebecca Ballejos, of Belen; he is also survived by his father, Antonio Ballejos, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Arturo Lucero, of Albuquerque, Christina Lucero, and Jeremiah Lucero. Christopher Ballejos, Joseph Ballejos, Joshua Ballejos, Carrie Archuleta, and Franchesca Ballejos, all of Mountainair; great-grandchildren, Felicity Archuleta and Savanna Archuleta of Mountainair. Survived by four brothers, Leo Ballejos and wife, Mary Ballejos, of Albuquerque, Ismael Ballejos and wife, Lillie Ballejos, of Yuma City, CA, Vincent Ballejos, of Albuquerque, and Raymond Ballejos, of Albuquerque; one sister, Mary Chavez, of Albuquerque; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandson, Robert John Lucero. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 27, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Alice Church in Mountainair, officiating by Father Edward Domme. Burial will immediately follow at Mountainair Cemetery.

Carrillo -- Jimmy Carrillo, 55, passed away January 22, 2001. He was a veteran, having served in the USAF. Jimmy was a graduate of Albuquerque High School, and graduate from St. Josephs College with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in bilingual education. He is survived by his mother Louisa Carrillo; five brothers, Nick Jr., and wife Mary, Johnny, Louie, Ray, and Joseph; four sisters, Frances Carrillo, Mary Ann Tenney and husband John, Gloria Carrillo, and Jeanette Martinez; nephews, Adrian, Gilbert, Rico, Anthony, and Lawrence; nieces, Suzie, Beverlie, Valerie, Kim, Erika, Rosebud; and other family and friends who loved and will miss him. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2001 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services. Services will be held at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church in Old Town, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2001. Chavez -- Mrs. Mary T. Chavez, 68, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family on January 25, 2001. Mrs. Chavez is the beloved wife of 52 years to Mr. Jimmy S. Chavez. She is also survived by two daughters, Christine C. Chavez and husband, Louie and Karen Torres and husband Ralph; one son, Eugene C. Chavez and fiance, Carol Lucero; one brother, Charles Tapia and wife, Alda, Phoenix, AZ.; six sisters, Betty Tapia Thayer and husband, Allen, JoAnn T. She is also survived by her daughter, Anna Elias and husband, Andy; three sons, Andrew Martinez and girlfriend, Terri, Virgil Martinez and Manuel Gabaldon and wife Sarah; her loving mother, Elvira Salas; two sisters, Mary Agnes Martinez and husband Ernest and Irene Salas; one brother, Secundino Salas and wife Patsy; 12 grandchildren; special angels, Sarah Malone, Susan Albright and Anna Taylor and many other family members and friends. Mrs. Gabaldon was a member of the Catholic Church. Grajeda -- Irene Nan Grajeda, 54, a 12-year resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, January 24, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Reynaldo ¯Rey¯ Grajeda of the family home; son, Dominic Grajeda of Albuquerque; daughters, Dina Giovale and husband, Joe of Phoenix and Regina Grajeda of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ryan Giovale and Floyd Grajeda; mother, Lupe Alvarado of Pirtleville, AZ; and sisters, Ramona Santamaria and husband, Charlie of Douglas, AZ, and Mary Marshall of Rio Rico, AZ. Jones -- Earl Allen Jones, age 76, born June 29, 1924, son of Harry J Jones and Martha A.C. Jones (nee Hareson), died sunday in a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife Delia in 1988; sisters, Elsie M. Layton of Pensgrove, NJ, Frances C. Drabold of Pedricktown, NJ, Mary E. Hafner of McHenry, IL. He is survived by a sister, Dorothy E. Jones of Pedricktown, NJ; stepson, Lester Boyse and wife Carol; and granddaughter Hayley all of Las Cruces, NM. Mr. Jones was a retired veteran of the United State Airforce, awarded 6 air medals for service in the European Theatre during WWII. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Animal Human Society, Heart Association or the charity of your choice. Ludmer -- Graciela Ludmer, 59, a resident of Albuquerque for 28 years, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2001. Graciela was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister. Nieto -- Josefina G. Nieto, 72, of Fort Sumner, NM died Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe following a short illness. Josefina was born April 8, 1928 in Puerto De Luna to the home of Ezequiel Garcia and the former Victoriana Angel. She was reared and attended school at Puerto De Luna. Josefina married Flavio Nieto on February 5, 1945 in Puerto De Luna. They made their home in Fort Sumner where Flavio worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. Josefina was a devoted mother to her ten children. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, spending time in her vegetable garden. She maintained a beautiful flower garden. Josefina was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Flavio on September 20, 1985, two infant children, Estellita and Anthony, a son, Victor Nieto in 1983, and Eva Nieto Salazar on July 5, 1985. Survivors include two sons, Ernest Nieto and wife, Lourdes of Rio Rancho, Orlando Nieto and wife, Jenny of Placitas, NM; six daughters, Gloria Gebman and husband, Allen, of Albuquerque, Helen Sena and husband, Anthony of Espanola, NM, Jane Nieto Sena of Portales, NM, Frances Nieto of Clovis, NM, Martha Casaus and husband, Johnny Ray of Hobbs, NM, Eugenia Casaus and husband, George of Albuquerque; two sisters, Isabel Anaya of Albuquerque, Tircia Garcia of Puerto De Luna; six brothers, Nestor Garcia of Puerto De Luna, Luis Garcia of Willard, NM, Arsenio Garcia, Ezequiel Garcia, Isidro Garcia, and Mike Garcia all of Albuquerque. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews other relative and many friends. Ouellette -- Dorothy T. Ouellette, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Wednesday, January 24, 2001. She is survived by her son, Robert H. Ouellette and wife, Mary Ann of Albuquerque; grandson, Brian J. Ouellette of Columbus, IN; son Arthur B. Ouellette of Wenatchee, WA; grandson, Andrew B. Ouellette; and granddaughter, Alyica Ouellette, all of Wenatchee, WA. Mrs. Ouellette was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Herve O. Ouellette in 1991. She initially moved to Albuquerque in 1959 and returned in 1968 after her husband retired from the service. She was a devoted housewife and she touched the lives of many friends. Pacey -- Elizabeth Wood Pacey, 96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, passed away on January 23, 2001 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia P. Miller, in 1985. She is survived by her son-in-law, Donald D. Miller and his wife, Valerie of Ruidoso, NM; her granddaughter, Janelle Miller Johnson and husband, Phillip of Albuquerque; her grandson, Jay-Alan Miller of Rome, Italy; and her great-grandchildren, Cynthia Jennice & Jay Kory Johnson both of Albuquerque. Elizabeth was born in Anthony, Kansas and was a graduate of Emporia Teacher's College. She taught several adult education business courses in the early years of TVI and was a retired Federal Civil Service employee. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in Carter Hall at La Vida Llena Retirement Center with Dr. Paul Debenport and The Reverend Carl Soderberg of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Rich -- Andrew (Andy) Martin Rich, Jr. passed away on Monday, January 22, 2001 in Los Alamos, NM. He was a long time resident of Los Alamos. He was born in Santa Fe, NM in 1931 to Andrew Martin and Margaret Hubbell Rich. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1950, and went on to join the US Navy and also served in the Korena War. Upon return from the service, he went to work for what is now US West in the Santa Fe and the northern New Mexico area. He worked there for 38 years. He came to work on the "hill" in 1966 where he continued until his retirement. He was a caring and loving individual with a great sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a hand where needed. He enjoyed his dancing, fishing, camping, and traveling, and of course his family. He was joyfully involved in the White Rock Senior Center, as well as a member of several service organizations including the B.P.O. Elks, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. He is loved by his entire family, his wife, Sylvia Pritchard Rich; his sisters, Anita Lynch and Cynthia McDonald; his daughters, Deborah Crane and husband, Ronnie Crane, and Linda Rich; his son, Hugh Rich and wife, Mary Rich; his grandchildren, Jason Beal, Joshua Beal, Samantha Rich, Robert Rich, Stephanie Crane, and William Andrew Rich; his great-grandson, Adrian Beal, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2001 at the United Church of Los Alamos. Seddon -- Blanche Elizabeth Seddon ¯Betty¯, age 81, died Tuesday January 23, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 63 years; Roger Seddon; daughters, Debbie Martinez and husband, David, Carol Martinez and husband, John, Margo Seddon and friend, Susan Bonner all of Albuquerque; sister, Jane Martin of California; grandchildren, Brandon LePore, Marc LePore, Michelle LePore, JT Martinez, Jodi Martinez, Kimberly Martinez; and great-grand-daughter, Halo LePore all of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends. Serna -- Pablo Serna, 96, went home to the Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2001. Pablo was born June 10, 1904 in Arroyo, Colorado to Josefita and Placido Serna. He is preceded in death by his wife, Manuelita, and son, Julian Serna. He is survived by his children, Josie Serna, Robert Serna, Elsie Vigil, Mary Zamora and husband, Sal, and Hassie Serna; his grandson, Ruben Castillo and wife, Christine; and his Godson Gregorio Griego and wife, Carol. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitation will be held today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Garcia Mortuary, in the Chapel on 8th Street. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. at San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town. Final visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday Morning at Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at San Felipe de Neri, with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Snyder -- Mary Jane (Temple) Snyder, age 72, of Steamboat Springs, CO and formerly of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2001 in the Porter Twp. Alexandria, PA. She was born on August 29, 1928 in Petersburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late Phillip Temple and Mrs. Bertha (Temple) Plymire who survives. Mary is also survived by her daughter, Beth Lucille Schulze of Wyalusing, PA; son, William Piper Spyker III of Steamboat Springs, CO; brothers, Samuel Temple of New Jersey and Phillip Temple of Missouri; she is also survived by two granddaughters. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2001 at Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Huntingdon, PA with the Rev. Father David J. Arseneault, Celebrant. Stuetzer -- Otmar M. Stuetzer, 88, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, passed away January 20, 2001. His first wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Stuetzer, his son, Max Stuetzer, and his sister, Hildegard Nahrhaft preceded him in death. Otmar is survived by his wife, Ann L. Stuetzer; daughters, Irmgard Hudson and Irene Lewis; five grandchildren, Ray and Nancy Hudson, Andrea Graham, Heather Kenny and Michael Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Riley and Ryan Graham and Chad Kenny. Otmar was born April 30, 1912 in Nuremberg, Germany. He received his doctorates in physics and electrical engineering at the Munich Insitute of Technology, Germany. He was instrumental in the development of radar and microwave optics. Otmar came to the United States in 1945 where he worked at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, until 1955. He then joined General Mills, Minneapolis, MN where he was a project manager for the highest world record manned stratospheric balloon ascent. In 1963, Otmar joined Sandia National Laboratories where his work involved the protection of electronic systems in the harsh environment of space and nuclear radiation. He retired in 1977 but continued to be a consultant until 1998. he originated over 40 patents and published many technical articles for engineering and scientific journals. He was a member of AIAA, IEE as well as an American Physical Society Fellow. Stull -- Margaret "Peg" Stull, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Monday, January 22, 2001. She is survived by her son, Mark S. Stull and wife, Gina of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Bernadine Tally and husband, Mike of Sadiville, KY; grandson, Chris Sandoval and wife, Raeanne; great-grandsons, Aaron, Austin, Joel and Jeremy Sandoval, all of Albuquerque; and sisters, Lois Davis of South Williamsport, PA and Dede Reeser of Prattsburg, NY. Mrs. Stull collected dolls, she loved antique dolls and was also an avid gardener. Valdes -- Don Juan Valdes, age 67, of Las Cruces, died on January 22, 2001. Don was the older of two children of Epimenia"Epple" Mares and the late Johnnie Valdes and oldest grandchild of the late Juan B. and Dora Valdes. Don graduated from St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe in 1952. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. In 1958, Don Married Gloria A. Santamaria in Pasadena, CA. Don, who retired this past year, was most recently employed as a Property Administrator at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. Prior to that he had worked as a Purchasing Agent at NMSU and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Don is survived by his wife, Gloria; his son, Mark and wife, Patti Valdes of Albuquerque; his daughter, Lisa and husband, Ferdinand Tauscheck of Las Cruces; his mother, Eppie; and sister, Alice McKirnan of Santa Fe; three grandchildren, Tawny, Briana and Chad Tauscheck of Rowland Heights, CA; and niece, Michele Stone; and nephew, Michael McKirnan of Santa Fe; and numerous other friends and relatives. Cremation has taken place, and Don's remains will be interred at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in Fort Bliss, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.

Whorton -- Rachel S. Whorton, a resident of Albuquerque since 1987, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2001. Rachel was born in Las Vegas, NM on May 6, 1917, the daughter of Morris and Minnie Siegal. The Siegal's settled in Las Vegas in 1913 where they opened and operated a grocery and general merchandise store located on Lincoln Avenue. Rachel graduated with honors from Las Vegas High School, and earned a full scholarship to Denver University. After one quarter, she left school to return to Las Vegas to help her parents run the store. In 1937, she married Romayne¯Dick Whorton and in 1950, Rachel and Dick along with her father-in-law, R. L. Whorton, purchased the Siegal store and changed the name to Whorton's Food Market. They operated the store until 1970 when it was sold. Rachel continued her education at Highlands University and subsequently embarked on a second career as a financial advisor to individuals regarding savings and retirement programs. Rachel was a prominent member of the Las Vegas community, and was the first woman ever to be elected to the Las Vegas City Council. She was active in civic affairs and was a matron in the Las Vegas Chapter of Eastern Star. Rachel moved to Albuquerque in 1987 where she continued her career as a financial advisor until her retirement in 2000. Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Jean Mosko of Denver, CO and son, William Lee. She is survived by her brother, Art Siegal and wife, Alice of Seattle, WA; brother-in-law, Jack Whorton of New Orleans, LA; sons, Jerry and wife, Sandy of League City, TX, Donald and wife, Diana Obrinsky of Oakland, CA, Bob and wife, Juneen of Los Lunas, NM and David Whorton of Las Vegas, NM; eight grandchildren, Mandy Whorton and husband, Steve Jevins of Denver, CO, Kerry Whorton of San Francisco, CA, Mathew, Laura and Julie Whorton of Oakland, CA, Patrick, Casey and Kendall Whorton of Los Lunas, NM; and two great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Abilgail Whorton of Denver, CO. Wilson -- Fred L. Wilson, age 82, passed away on January 23, 2001. Mr. Wilson was a Rio Rancho resident since 1991. He was born in Charleston, IL on December 26, 1918 to George W. and Ruth W. Wilson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice J. Wilson and survived by children, William and wife, Maude of Rio Rancho, Sharon Wilson of Rio Rancho, Barbara Lumley and husband, Jim of Elephant Butte and Clovis, and Fred C. and wife, Janet of Albuquerque; brother, Roy K. Wilson of Georgia; sister, Helen M. Paull of Florida; grandchildren, Kelly Wilson, Michael and Michele Wood, Jimmy Wilson and wife, Rachel, Zachary, Shawn, Kyle and Rachel Wilson; and great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Wood; and great-grandson, James Wilson; and niece, Diane M. Paull of Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were married in East Alton, MO on September 14, 1941. He earned his Bachelor of Education degree from Eastern Illinois University and his graduate work at the University of Illinois. He taught Industrial Arts at Arthur, IL 1950 - 1952 and worked as an Industrial Arts teacher, Guidance Counselor and Dean of Students at J. Sterling Morton High School In Berwyn, IL 1952-1975. He served as Athletic Instructor in the U.S. Navy 1943-1945. He served as Village Trustee and Mayor in North Riverside, IL 1956-1962. He owned and operated the Fred Wilson Golf Range 1957-1975. He also organized the Little League in Arthur and North Riverside, IL. In 1968, he and his wife went on a sabbatical leave to the Mexico City Olympics, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii. He retired in Albuquerque in 1975, and moved to Cochiti Lake, NM 1983-1991 after he suffered a stroke in 1979. even though he was paralyzed on the right side, he rode an electric wheelchair and led a busy productive life. He moved to Rio Rancho in 1991 just before his 50th wedding anniversary. He is admired for all of his hard work throughout the years and his devotion to his family and friends. He loved all kinds of sports and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. To our Dad and Grandpa, we will never forget your kind heart and devotion to your family. You learned early in life to never give up and always had a great smile for all you met. You have made the best of any situation and have lived your life as the person we all wish to strive to be. We love you and you will live on in our hearts and memories. A visitation for Fred will be held on Friday, January 26, 2001 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Rio Rancho Funeral Home. Zaudke -- Annath G. (Campbell) Zaudke, 86, died on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Whitewater Health Care Center in St. Charles, MN. Annath was born in St. Charles, MN on March 18, 1914, to Edward and Jessie (Buffman) Campbell. In 1941, she graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing and from that point on nursing was a major part of her life. Annath joined the US Navy and nursed as an Ensign at Corona Naval Base in California during World War II. After the war, she moved back to St. Charles, MN and then relocated to Kansas. Annath married Elmer Zaudke on June 9, 1945. In 1951, the moved to Albuquerque, where she worked at the AT & SF Hospital until her retirement She also lived in Santa Fe. Elmer died in 1982. Annath returned to St. Charles, MN in 1990. She belonged to Christ Lutheran Church in Albuquerque and St. Matthew Lutheran in St. Charles, MI. Annath was a member of the Lutheran Mission Women's League. She served as President of the New Mexico Federation of Women's clubs, District II, in 1978. Annath participated in the Santa Fe Women's Club, the GFWC Cosmopolitan Woman's Club, and was a charter member of the Women in Service Memorial in Washington, D.C. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Bowman of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Don Campbell and wife, Mildred of St. Charles, MN; brother, John"Bob" Campbell and wife, Olive of Oronoco, MN; sister, Adelaide Waby of St. Charles, MN; grandchildren, Tammy Howze, and Joel, Tonya, David and Aaron Myers; and eight great-grandchildren. Husband, Elmer and sister, Mae Miller preceded her in death. Services will be held Saturday, 12:30 p.m. at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Pastor Greg Werdin officiating. Entombment will follow. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joel Myers, David Myers, and Aaron Myers.
