Rich -- Andrew (Andy) Martin Rich, Jr. passed away on Monday, January 22, 2001 in Los Alamos, NM. He was a long time resident of Los Alamos. He was born in Santa Fe, NM in 1931 to Andrew Martin and Margaret Hubbell Rich. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1950, and went on to join the US Navy and also served in the Korena War. Upon return from the service, he went to work for what is now US West in the Santa Fe and the northern New Mexico area. He worked there for 38 years. He came to work on the "hill" in 1966 where he continued until his retirement. He was a caring and loving individual with a great sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a hand where needed. He enjoyed his dancing, fishing, camping, and traveling, and of course his family. He was joyfully involved in the White Rock Senior Center, as well as a member of several service organizations including the B.P.O. Elks, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. He is loved by his entire family, his wife, Sylvia Pritchard Rich; his sisters, Anita Lynch and Cynthia McDonald; his daughters, Deborah Crane and husband, Ronnie Crane, and Linda Rich; his son, Hugh Rich and wife, Mary Rich; his grandchildren, Jason Beal, Joshua Beal, Samantha Rich, Robert Rich, Stephanie Crane, and William Andrew Rich; his great-grandson, Adrian Beal, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2001 at the United Church of Los Alamos. The family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the White Rock Senior Center. Please contact Mary Venable for information.
