Crespin -- Virginia M. Crespin, 63, beloved and devoted wife, mother, daughter and grandmother was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 25, 1999. Mrs. Crespin was a parishioner of San Ignacio Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Gutierrez; and sister, Ruby Gutierrez. She is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Crespin of the family home; her loving children, Linda Aragon and husband, Antonio, Christina Dauber and husband, Rick, Franzella Sedillo and husband, Richard, Veronica McWhirter and husband, Thomas, and Ernest Crespin Jr. and wife, Susan; her father, Florival Gutierrez; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Also surviving are six brothers, Leonardo Gutierrez, Benjamin Gutierrez, Ray Gutierrez, Bonitacio Gutierrez, Ofiniano Gutierrez and Anthony Gutierrez; eight sisters, Florence O'Leary, Jessie Marrijo, Annie Sanchez, Christine Montoya, Lisa Romero, Gloria Otero, RoseAnn Evans, Rita Gutierrez; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitation will be today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on the corner of 8th and Iron, where a Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church. Lucero -- On Sunday, November 21, 1999, a very kind and quiet man, Procopio"Pete" Lucero was called home by our Lord. Pete left this world in the arms of his wife, Fannie N. Lucero, to go see his mom and dad, who, in his own quiet way, always thought of them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Margarita Lucero; brothers, Andres Lucero Jr. and wife, Ida, Frank B. Lucero and Guadalupe Lucero; grandsons, George Anthony Newman and Sammy B. Newman. Pete leaves behind his wife and friend, Fannie N. Lucero; step-son, George Lee Newman and wife, Rose C. Newman, who he raised as his own son and taught him to put a clean, white handkerchief in his pocket every day, taught him to put a shine on his shoes, and to iron his shirts with a military crease. Pete also leaves behind a beloved niece, Margaret and husband, Ray Gomez, who he loved so much because they came and told him jokes and sang songs; a nephew, Leo Lucero, who visited him every day at Paloma Blanca; and his little friend next door, Philipeto Spencer and his beloved puppy,"Coyote". Mr. Lucero was life member of the American Legion Post 69. Funeral services for Mr. Lucero will be held Wednesday at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Vigil -- Carmel R. Vigil Sr., 78, beloved and devoted father, grandfather and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 19, 1999. Mr. Vigil was born on July 16, 1921 to the late Manuel and Teresa Vigil; he was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; and the owner and operator of the CRV Grocery Store. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Theresa Vigil and Nancy Yvonne Vigil; one brother, Herman Vigil; and one sister, Oralia Sanchez. He is survived by his loving children, Rita Phifer and husband, Donald of El Paso, TX, Sylvia Thompson and husband, Donald of Albuquerque, Carmel Vigil Jr. and wife, Joyce of Portland, OR, Linda Montoya and husband, Reyes of Albuquerque, Victor Vigil and wife, Rosemarie of Rio Rancho, Abrian Vigil, Juliana Bledsoe and husband, Jim, Janet Serna and husband, Pablo, and Jacqueline Whitlatch and husband, Jim, all of Albuquerque; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers, Isabel Barros and husband, John, Lena Baca and husband, Tito, Erlinda Sanchez and husband, Rudy, Theresa Segura, Leonardo Vigil and wife, Bernice, Jenny Sanchez and Dodi Aragon and husband, Ted. Zubia -- Paula Pauline Zubia, 87, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died November 18, 1999. She is survived by her sons, Robert Zubia and wife, Edna and Alvino Zubia and wife, Erin; daughters, Helen Gutierrez, Tina Montoya, Carmen Chavez and husband, Eddie, and Consuelo Swan and husband, Manuel; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Baca; brother, Joe Ortega and wife, Clara; and family and friends who loved and will miss her. A special thanks to Presbyterian Hospice staff and special nieces, Letesia Baca and Connie Lujan. Services will be held at Living Water Church, 7002 Acoma SE, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 22, 1999, funeral at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, and burial following at Fairview Cemetery. King -- 1974-1999 Todd Q. King, 25, a resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 1999. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert King; and three brothers, Brad, Robin and Kim King. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara King; and his daughters, Erin, Megan and Cassie (who will be born in March); his mother, Tillie C. King of Belen; one sister, Suzy Amestoy of Belen; six brothers, Donald, Delbert, Richard, Edward and Tim King, and Russell Montoya; and many loving uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 21, at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. The family will once again receive friends between 9:00 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on Monday morning, November 22, with funeral services to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at James St. and Hwy 85, in Los Lunas. Sanchez -- Pita Gregorita Sanchez, 84, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away November 18, 1999, in Tucumcari, surrounded in prayer by her loving family. Pita joined her husband, Lee, on what would have been his 101st birthday. Lee preceded her in death four years ago. Also preceding her in joining our Lord were her parents, Agapito and Dorotea Garcia; her brothers, Jose P. and Rudy Garcia; a son-in-law, Alfred Lucero; and brother-in-law, Ben Gonzales. Pita had made her home in Albuquerque for the last four years with her daughter, Lydia and son-in-law, Frank Maestas. Pita had been in Tucumcari for three weeks, her home for most of her adult life, where she could be near her other daughter, Dolores Lucero. Pita is survived by her daughters, Dolores Lucero and Lydia Maestas and son-in-law, Frank Maestas; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Alice Gonzales from Richmond, CA; her brother, Domingo Garcia and his wife, Eloisa from Pacoima, CA; and sisters-in-law, Paulita Garcia and Adele Garcia from Tucumcari. Services will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari, with Rosary on Friday, and mass on Saturday, followed by burial at the family plot in Montoya, New Mexico.
