Obituary for Sanchez

Pita Gregorita Sanchez, 84, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away November 18, 1999, in Tucumcari, surrounded in prayer by her loving family. Pita joined her husband, Lee, on what would have been his 101st birthday. Lee preceded her in death four years ago. Also preceding her in joining our Lord were her parents, Agapito and Dorotea Garcia; her brothers, Jose P. and Rudy Garcia; a son-in-law, Alfred Lucero; and brother-in-law, Ben Gonzales. Pita had made her home in Albuquerque for the last four years with her daughter, Lydia and son-in-law, Frank Maestas. Pita had been in Tucumcari for three weeks, her home for most of her adult life, where she could be near her other daughter, Dolores Lucero. Pita is survived by her daughters, Dolores Lucero and Lydia Maestas and son-in-law, Frank Maestas; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Alice Gonzales from Richmond, CA; her brother, Domingo Garcia and his wife, Eloisa from Pacoima, CA; and sisters-in-law, Paulita Garcia and Adele Garcia from Tucumcari. Services will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari, with Rosary on Friday, and mass on Saturday, followed by burial at the family plot in Montoya, New Mexico.
