Adviento -- Rita (La Pinnie) Adviento was called home to rest. Born 1942, she ended her long battle with her illness on November 23, 1999 at Presbyterian Hospital. She was preceded in death by father, Lorenzo Dani Adviento; son, Robert Valesquez and wife, Elenor; daughter, Martina, husband, Michael Cooper, son, Sam Adviento and wife, Faith; grandchildren, Robert, Jessica, Arial, Felicia, Guilbert, Luther, and extended family. Her family would like to express their appreciation to the organizations and the people that touched her life. A Memorial service will be held at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano Rd. Anderson -- Cameron Alex Anderson, 2, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, October 30, 1999. He is survived by his mother, Deana K. Anderson; sister, Kaitlyn K. Anderson; brother, Garrick S. Anderson; maternal grandparents, Bonnie and Ted Stout; paternal grandmother, Kirsten J. Anderson, all of Albuquerque; step-grandfather, Donald D. Becker of Rio Rancho; uncles, Jason E. Anderson of Albuquerque and Corey Stout of Denver, CO; cousins, Dadje Anderson, Allison Stout and Mackenzie Stout, all of Albuquerque; and many"Aunties" and"Uncles". Archuleta -- Juanita Archuleta, age 99, a very dear and loved aunt, was called home by our Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Henry Archuleta. She was a resident of Albuquerque for eight years. Aunt Juanita came from Delta, CO, where she and the Reverend made their home for most of their lives. She is survived by one nephew, Joe M. Cordova; one niece, Fannie C. Maestas; and Sister Consilia de-Herrera O.F.M., and were brought up by her. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand and great-nieces and nephews on both sides of the family, and will be missed by us all. She was a very devoted veteran teacher, who taught in rural area schools. She was a lover of nature and adored her animals. She and her husband were very active in their church and served their community for many years. Evening services will be this evening at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alameda Mortuary. Interment will be Saturday, November 27, 1999 at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta, CO. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th St. NW, Gary F. Santillanes C.F.S.P.

Chavez -- Concha Chavez, age 95, died at the hospital on Monday, November 22, 1999. Her husband, Melcor Chavez preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Felix Chavez and wife, Reginita, Joe Chavez and wife, Aurora, Elfego Chavez and wife, Reina, Gabriel Chavez and wife, Lucy, Gilbert Chavez and wife, Rachel, Cecil Chavez and wife, Emma, Sal Chavez, and Melcor Chavez Jr. She is also survived by her daughters, Juanita Otero and husband, Magdaleno, Kandy Garcia and husband, Richard, Peggy Pohl and husband, Herman, Sylvia Castillo and husband, Wilfred, Rita Garcia and husband, Daniel, Rosita Trujillo and Eulla Gutierrez. One sister, Emma Garley, also survives her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 26, 1999 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow the Mass at the cemetery in Torreon, NM. Gonzales -- Mrs. Alberta V. Gonzales, 77, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 23, 1999. Mrs. Gonzales is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Arturo; one daughter, Christina A. Romero and husband David; two sons, Robert Gonzales and Rose, and Ted Gonzales and wife, Rosemary; one brother, George Vasquez; six grandchildren, Brian, Debbie, Steven, Stephanie, Robert and Desiree; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Gonzales was a member of the Catholic Church. Griego -- Mr. Antonio"Tony" M. Griego, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday at the age of 90. Mr. Griego was born in Corrales on May 24, 1909. His early youth was spent in Casa Salazar in the Rio Puerco Valley. Later to Corrales and Albuquerque. He enjoyed bingo and was an avid bowler with the Grandmas and Grandpas League at Leisure Bowl, and with the Highland Seniors at Holiday Bowl until he was 87. He was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. Mr. Griego was preceded in death by his wife, Erma, who died in 1989; and a son, Antonio Jr. in 1999. He is survived by his daughters, Lugie Gonzales and husband, Paul, and grandchildren, Dorothy, Steve, Eileen, Matthew, and Chris; daughter, Mary ann Mora and husband, Billy and grandchildren, Ralph, William, Vincent, Mark, Paulette, and Michael; daughter, Virginia Luna and husband, Manuel and grandchildren, Manny, Ancilla, Antonio, and Adrian; daughter-in-law, Betty Griego and grandchildren, Bonnie, Gene, Shirley, and Leonard; and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Griego will be held on Friday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Martin -- William"Bill" Martin, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, died Tuesday, November 23, 1999. Mcpherson -- Sam McPherson, 87, passed away Sunday, November 14, 1999. He was a resident of Albuquerque for the past 78 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen Mead McPherson; son, Michael McPherson and his wife, Mary Ann of Hingham, MA; sister-in-law, Francis Mead of Albuquerque; niece, Shirley Troy of Albuquerque; great-nephews, Jim, Ed and John Troy of Huntsville, AL; cousin, Frances Neufeld and husband, Hal of Albuquerque. Mrs. McPherson attended UNM, was a president of the 20/ 30 Club of Albuquerque, and was the Manager of Contractors Equipment and Supply Company for more than 30 years. He was an energetic reader of history and was known for his prodigious memory and his warm sense of humor. He enjoyed opera and was a skilled woodworker. He was an enthusiastic football fan and a longtime supporter of the UNM Lobos and the Dallas Cowboys. A Memorial service was held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Montano -- Frank G. Montano passed away on November 21, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Montano; and his son, Steve Montano. Frank is survived by his sons, Robert Montano and wife, Theresa of Corrales, and Paul Montano and wife, Julie of Rio Rancho; his daughters, Virginia Montano-Vasquez, Veronica and husband, Andre Ford, all of Pasadena, TX; his brothers, Max Montano and wife, Beatrice, Norman Montano and wife, Josephine, Paul Montano and wife, Gloria, Raymond Montano and wife, Yolanda, and Bennie Montano; his sisters, Alimada Lovato and husband, Louie, Fita Hernandez and husband, Ernie, Mary Martinez and husband, Morris; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and he had many friends in Corrales. He enjoyed farming and was a member of the American Legion Post 69. Frank was a Civil Servant for 34 years at Kirtland Air Force Base. He served in the US Army during WWII. He reenlisted and trained troops for the Korean Conflict. Omdahl -- John Jeffrey (Jeff) Omdahl, 25, a native of Albuquerque, died Monday, November 2, 1999. He graduated from Highland High School, where he played baseball, basketball, and was a delegate to Boys State. Jeff enjoyed fishing, playing and composing music on the piano and guitar, playing basketball, biking, traveling, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his parents, John (Jack) and Jettie Omdahl of Albuquerque; his grandparents, Ardella Davis of Hobbs, Ralph and Dorothy Omdahl of Mesa, AZ; sister and brother-in-law, Jackee and Bob Hamp of Abilene, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Alyssa Omdahl of Portland, OR; and brother, Joel Omdahl of Albuquerque; uncle and aunt, Pete and Lela Collins of Mesa, AZ; his cousins and many friends. Van Kirk -- Russell D. "Shakey" Van Kirk, 76, an Albuquerque resident for 50 years, died Tuesday, November 23, 1999. Mr. Van Kirk is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Van Kirk of the family home; daughter, Jackie Chambers and husband, Max of Norco, CA; son, Russell D. Van Kirk Jr. of Albuquerque; niece, Gloria Scarcell and husband, Denny of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Tana Fletcher and husband, Rod, Steven Chambers, all of Norco, CA, Lisa Robinson and husband, Robert, Dennis Scarcell and wife, Elaine, all of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Cailey Fletcher of Norco, CA, Angelica and Candice Robinson, Evan and Ryan Scarcell, all of Albuquerque; brother, William"Boots" Van Kirk of Washington, PA. Mr. Van Kirk was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army as a military policeman. He was a member of American Legion Post 49 and of the VFW. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His family and friends will dearly miss him. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 26, 1999, at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Vernie Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery with full Military Honors to be conducted by American Legion Post 49. Vander Heyden -- James A. Vander Heyden, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died suddenly Friday, November 19, 1999. He is survived by his sons, John C. Vander Heyden, James V. Vander Heyden; and grandson Jimmy S. Vander Heyden, all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma C. Vander Heyden. Born January 1, 1936, in Tonawanda, NY, he relocated here with parents, Fred and Alma in 1956. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1960 with the Army National Guard's 429th Company, in Fort Bliss, TX. A devoted father and grandfather, he always met the needs of his family and loved ones before his own. He had a great passion for fishing New Mexico's streams and lakes, and was an avid Baseball fan. A special thank you from the family to Kathy Hoy and Mr. Bob Roybal of Albuquerque. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 26, 10:00 a.m., at Garcia Chapel, 717 Stover SW.
