HERRERA -- Norberto "Willie" Herrera, 59, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away May 17, 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents Norberto R. Herrera and Natalia Herrera, sister Dolores Vigil, brother Antonio Herrera, and uncle Daniel Herrera. Norberto was born on February 4, 1950 in Santa Fe, NM. He was a member of Paralyzed Veterans of America and he was a Veteran of Vietnam (Marine Corp). He is survived by daughters Montessa Valdez (Mark Valdez) of Santa Fe, and Margaret Herrera of Santa Fe, son Matthew Herrera (Laura Atkins)of Santa Fe, grandchildren; Dominic and Shaylissa Valdez, and Isaiah and Zachariah Herrera all from Santa Fe, brother Isidro Herrera (Viola Herrera) of Santa Fe, sisters Lydia Griego (Melesio Griego) of Rio Rancho, and Flora Gregory of Albuquerque, brother-in-law Hilario Vigil of Santa Fe, Aunt Teddie Cannon of Moriarty, and dear friends Ron Estrada and Mary Jo Romero. Norberto is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2009 at St. Anne Catholic Church. A Funeral Service will be conducted Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., at Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna Rd NE, Albuquerque. A Jewish Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Santa Fe Funeral Options Chapel. Interment will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery also on Wednesday. GONZALES -- Phillip (Felipe) Gonzales, 93, pioneer educator, a life long citizen of New Mexico and a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away quietly in his sleep on May 8, 2009 after an extended illness. Born in the mountain town of Los Alamitos, New Mexico, in the upper Pecos valley on October 16, 1915, Phillip was the second oldest of 5 sons born to Magdaleno and Remedios (Lujan) Gonzales. Phillip was preceded in death by his wife, Celina Roybal Gonzales, his father and mother, three of his brothers Cipriano, Francisco, and Jose Luis. He is survived by one brother Antonio. Phillip is also survived by his five children, Regina Martinez and husband Rudy, Lucy Ann Alires and husband Jerome, Phillip C., Louella Buchanan and husband Rick, and Winifred Galarza; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with public viewing from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated, Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE. TURPEN -- Linda B. Turpen, 41, a resident of Corrales, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009. Linda was born September 10, 1967 the daughter of William and Donna Combrink Foster in Phoenix, Arizona. She had been an instructor with Off Campus Learning for T.V.I. Linda is survived by her three children, Michael, Jordan, and Ceara Turpen, all of Corrales, NM; her father, William Foster of Pueblo West, CO; her mother, Donna Foster of Santa Fe, NM; aunt and uncle, Bud and Peggy Parker of Littleton, CO; nephew, Douglas Parker of Eagle, CO; niece, Debra Lujan of Vancouver, WA; and numerous cousins. BACA -- Rudolpho (Rudy) Lujan Baca, 52, passed away on April 24, 2009. He was born on July 16, 1956, in Albuquerque, NM and was currently residing in Washington, D.C. He is survived by his father, Ruben Baca and stepmother, Lillian Baca; two sisters, Angela Sievel and husband Gene; Berlinda Eras and husband Ken; brother, Martin Baca and wife Valery; three nieces, Vanessa Bagley, Elise Eras, and Ana Baca; three nephews, Jarrod Bagley, Andres Eras, and Isaac Baca; and dear friend Edward Kelly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Baca and sister, Evelyn Baca. He is survived by his father, Ruben Baca and stepmother, Lillian Baca; two sisters, Angela Sievel and Berlinda Eras; brother, Martin Baca; three nieces, Vanessa Bagley, Elise Eras, and Ana Baca; three nephews, Jarrod Bagley, Andres Eras, and Isaac Baca; and dear friend Edward Kelly. MARTINEZ -- Angela Roman Martinez, 99, well-known to all as Mom, Grandma, Abuelita, Angelita, Dona Angela and Maset, died peacefully and went to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. Angela was born December 26, 1909, in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico: her parents were Aurelia Acosta and Juan Roman. Angela came to the United States in 1918. She was a resident of Martineztown in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 78 years Jesus M. Martinez, her brother Aurelio P. Roman, and sons Jess Martinez, Jr., James M. Martinez and Roberto Martinez. She is survived by her loving children including daughters Maria Martinez, Emma Lutton, Shirley Salinas, Angela Romero, Inez and husband Charles D. Benson, Rosie and husband Lewis O. Campbell, Laura Martinez, Margaret and husband Sasha Siemel, and sons Antonio J. Martinez, Frank H. and wife Linda M. Martinez, all of Albuquerque; and daughters Sofia and husband Eugene R. McGough Sr. of Carlsbad, N.M.; Mellie Malcolmson of San Francisco, Calif.; and Alicia and husband James Barber of Cuyamungue, N.M. She is also survived, loved and will be missed by 36 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. LUJAN -- FLOREN.
