CLARK -- Jesse T. Clark went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2009, at the age of 84. He was a lifelong resident of New Mexico and the owner of Clark's TV. Jesse had a real passion for flying that began after he finished high school. He joined the Army Air Corps and flew B-17's during World War II. He continued this love of flying for many years and we know now that he is flying higher than ever. One of Jesse's other loves was children. He was a school crossing guard for over ten years, and was affectionately known as "Mr. Stop Sign". Jesse was preceded in death by the love of his life and his "War Souvenir", Jean; and his mother, father, brother, and "Primo". He is survived by his sister, Helen McCluer; his three children, Linda Anderson and husband John, Tom Clark and wife Dolly, and Robert Clark and wife Renee; his six grandchildren, Deanne Downer, Shawn Anderson, and Ryan, Reanne, Ray and Rylee Clark; and his three great-grandchildren Mary Anne, Amy and Seth Downey. Services to celebrate his life will be held at New Covenant Church on April 14, 2009, at 10:00 am, followed by a full military honor service at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 pm. EDWARDS -- Malcolm "Mack" A. Edwards, Jr., 64, a resident of Albuquerque since 1966, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy Edwards; sons, Kevin D. Edwards and Michael Edwards and wife, Nikki; brother, William Edwards and wife, Barbara; sister-in-law, Martha Edwards; mother-in-law, Sarah Jameson; and other relatives and friends. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm A. and Emily C. Edwards; and brother, Robert A. Edwards. He was born August 6, 1944 in Washington D.C. and graduated from Herndon High School (VA) in 1962 where he played baseball and lettered in football. Mack served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1965 and was trained as an electrician mate at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center. He was stationed in Little Creek, VA on board the U.S.S. Roberts (DE-749). Mack graduated from UNM in 1971 with a B.S.E.E., where he served as Regional Governor of the National Speleological Society. He worked for Gamblin-Rodgers Electrical Contractors from 1971 to 1990 as an estimator and later as a project manager. From 1990 to 1995 he worked as a project estimator for several DOE sites with Dames & Moore. From 1995 to 1999, he worked for ICF Kaiser Engineers as a senior project estimator in LANL. From 1999 to 2001 he worked for Terradigm Inc. at LANL and then for Balis and Co. in late 2001. In 2002 he and his family moved to TN where he worked at Paducah, KY before returning to Albuquerque in 2004 where he worked for Technadyne Engineering Services at Sandia National Lab until 2007. Throughout his career Mack remained a charter member of ASPE. He was a horseman in his youth. Mack was a boating enthusiast and loved fishing. He had a passion for racing and by 2005 owned a 1991 black mustang coup "the Dyna Edge" which won the Fun Ford Weekend True Street Class in Phoenix, AZ. Always a devoted husband and beloved father, Mack will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 9:30 a.m., at French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. KIRK -- George Francis Kirk, 93, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at his family home. He was born November 7, 1915 in Mansfield OH, a son of Albert G. and Veronica Cherneski Kirk. He met Phyllis LeFeber while stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base. They married on February 6, 1943 in Albuquerque. She passed away October 24, 2004. He served in the European Theatre as a staff sergeant in the Army Air Corp during the 2nd World War and retired from Sandia Base in 1974. His passions included raising and training his man-trailing bloodhounds and playing golf. He is survived by one daughter and one son; Roxana (Roxy) Kirk of Albuquerque; Gregory Kirk of Madison, WI; one grandson, Brandon Kirk of Albuquerque; one brother and two sisters; Carl Kurek, Margaret Adsit, and Rita Eichler. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. MARTINEZ -- - Angela Roman Martinez, 99, well-known to all as Mom, Grandma, Abuelita, Angelita, Dona Angela and Maset, died peacefully and went to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. Angela was born December 26, 1909, in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico: her parents were Aurelia Acosta and Juan Roman. Angela came to the United States in 1918. She was a resident of Martineztown in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 78 years Jesus M. Martinez, her brother Aurelio P. Roman, and sons Jess Martinez, Jr., James M. Martinez and Roberto Martinez. She is survived by her loving children including daughters Maria Martinez, Emma Lutton, Shirley Salinas, Angela Romero, Inez and husband Charles D. Benson, Rosie and husband Lewis O. Campbell, Laura Martinez, Margaret and husband Sasha Siemel, and sons Antonio J. Martinez, Frank H. and wife Linda M. Martinez, all of Albuquerque; and daughters Sofia and husband Eugene R. McGough Sr. of Carlsbad, N.M.; Mellie Malcolmson of San Francisco, Calif.; and Alicia and husband James Barber of Cuyamungue, N.M. She is also survived, loved and will be missed by 36 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. OAKES -- Wallace Oakes, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for over 60 years, left this life Saturday, April 11, 2009. He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Truitt and husband Keith of Albuquerque; grandsons Steven Truitt and Brian Truitt both of Albuquerque; brothers Thomas Oakes and wife Ann of Redwood, MS, and John Oakes and wife Clara of Vicksburg, MS; sisters-in-law Mae Behrend of Albuquerque and Charlotte Oakes of Redwood MS; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Wallace was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Marion M. Oakes; son Dr. Theodore Oakes; and two sisters and seven brothers. Mr. Oakes was born in Yazoo County, MS on March 11, 1920 to Joe Wallace and Edna Sanders Oakes. After graduating from high school, he joined the USAF in 1940. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant on July 31, 1975 and returned to Albuquerque. He received numerous awards and citations during his military career. Wallace was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Thursday, April 16 at 11:00 am at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 pm. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas "Bo" Oakes Jr., John Earl Oakes, Jeff Behrend, Robert Roach, James Oakes, David Roach, Marion "Buster" Fuller, James Behrend, Nathan Oakes, Larry Oakes, Billy Roach, J.D. ZAMORA -- Felix J. Zamora, Jr., 48, was born on June 6, 1960, in Albuquerque and died March 1, 2009. He is survived by his mother, Maggie Zamora; his brother Chris Zamora and his wife Jamie; his sister Dolores Zolotor and her husband Dennis; daughter Alexia Zamora; his grandson Ethan; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
