Gallegos -- Tony V. Gallegos, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Monday, June 18, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Hafiza Hindi Gallegos; and daughter, Bonita C. Fenn. Children include sons, Richard and wife, Nancy, Anthony and wife, Diana, Jimmy and wife, Vicki; daughters, Theresa Easley and husband, Robert, Carla Gallegos and husband, Jason Robertson, all of Albuquerque; Clare Lunsted and husband, Ron of Aurora, CO; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; (to whom he was better known as ťTatať); sisters, Jenny Tapia of Albuquerque and Helen Garner of Las Vegas; and several nieces, nephews and many other relatives. Tony became a professional boxer in his teens after winning the Golden Gloves Championship. Later he moved his family to the bay area of California where he worked in the Marin County shipyards as a foreman. He finished his career of 29 years with the federal government working both in Los Alamos and Albuquerque. His hobbies included fishing, traveling, building and an occasional gambling trip with his wife and children. Tony was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all. Rosary will be recited Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE., with Father Antonio Mondragon, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Jason Gallegos, Chris Gallegos, Steven Easley, Jay Easley, Shaun Gallegos and Dennis Gallegos. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Rick Gallegos, Erick Gallegos, Robert Easley, Mike Easley, Alex Gallegos, Valerie Lunsted, Shayna Lunsted, Joshua Robertson, Jenae Robertson and Tracy Harrison. Apodaca -- Mr. Benjamin B. (Ben) Apodaca, 77, a resident of Seboyeta, New Mexico passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on June 18, 2001. Mr. Apodaca is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Mrs. Fela Apodaca. He is also survived by two daughters, Elisa Apodaca and Cora Trujillo and husband, Roger; three grandchildren, Matthew Trujillo and wife, Stephanie, Heather Trujillo and fiancee, Armando Marquez and Corey Trujillo; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Trujillo and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Apodaca was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the family home in Seboyeta with viewing at the family home after 5:00. Deacon Bill, reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Seboyeta, NM with final viewing at the church after 10:30 a.m. Father Lawrence Bernard, OFM, celebrant. Roybal -- Alejandro (Alex) Roybal went into the loving arms of our Lord on June 13, 2001, surrounded by all his loving family. Alex is survived by his loving wife, Elisa Proo Roybal of 53 years; by his children, Rosita Roybal Gallegos and husband, Michael, Carlos Roybal, and Alex Roybal and wife, Rebecca; his six grandchildren; and his brother, Arturo Jimenez and sister, Esther Collado. He is also survived by his special sisters-in-law, Margie Proo and Annie Jimenez; and by many special nieces, nephews and friends. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Jimenez and father, Alejandro Roybal; his brother, Albert and special sister-in-law, Mary Lou Roybal; and his sisters, Amy Chavez and Clara St. Laurent. Vialpando -- Lucretia Sanchez Vialpando age 89, a resident of Albuquerque, previously of Alcalde, NM., peacefully went to her eternal rest on Friday, June 8, 2001, as a result of lung cancer. She was born September 10, 1911 in LaVillita to Avelino Sanchez Sr., and Gertrudis Casados Sanchez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Vialpando; son, Gregorio O. McKenzie; brothers, Joe G. Sanchez, Avelino Sanchez Jr., Juan Sanchez; and a sister, Mary Irene Sanchez. Lucretia is survived by her siblings and their spouses Agneda Palmer and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, Stella Wheeler and husband, George, Ramon Sanchez and wife, Connie, Louise Dora Salazar and Jose L. Sanchez of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Bernie Sanchez of Espanola; nieces and nephews Loyola Salazar, Lorraine Gurule, Mable Willaman, Sandra Sanchez, Pearl and Raquel Wheeler, Alfonso, Chris and Margaret Sanchez, Michael, Andrew, and Randy Sanchez and Bernadette Wiegel, Donald Salazar and Anna Mae Gallegos; daughter-in-law, Jean McKenzie; five grandchildren Mary Ann, Cathy, Greg, Marjean and Coralu McKenzie; 14 great grandchildren all residing in Utah and Arizona. Lou's Patience, compassion and love for those around her will never be forgotten. She was a devout Catholic. She loved being outdoors and working in her garden. She loved her roses, humming birds, animals, picking pinon, playing bingo, sewing, cooking, and taking nature walks. A viewing and rosary will be held at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano NW. Albuquerque, on Tuesday, June 12, 2001 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. It was her wish to be cremated and a memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Annes Catholic Church, 511 Alicia (atHickox) in Santa Fe on Friday, June 15, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Moya -- 1954-2001. Ramon Moya, also lovingly known as 'Uncs", 47, a resident of Peralta, passed away on Thursday June 7, 2001. He is survived by his parents, Jesus and Manuelita Moya; his sisters, Josephine Trillo and husband, Jose, Margaret Moya, Jessie Vallejos and husband, Raymond, and Mary Lou Sandoval and her husband, Thomas; his brothers, Placido Price and wife, Isabel and George Price and wife, Mary Ann; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2001 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. led by his aunt, Nora Moya. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday June 11, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Father Albert Gallegos officiating. Burial will follow in the Peralta Cemetery. Maez -- Cecilia D. Maez, 62, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974 died, Thursday, June 7, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Rolanda Maez and husband, Richard Mondragon of Albuquerque; son, Raymond Dean Maez and wife, Robin of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Nathaniel Richard Mondragon and Reece Jamison Maez; sisters, Espy Enriquez and husband, Ruben, Irene Duron and Estella Duron all of El Paso, TX; brothers, Juan Duron, Jr. and wife, Gloria, of El Paso, TX, Luis Duron and wife, Juanita of El Paso, TX, Ruben Duron and wife, Martha of California, Angel Duron, Mike Duron and Ramon Duron and wife, Basilisa all of El Paso, TX; in-laws, Manuel and Lala Sanchez of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. Maez; and parents, Juan and Candelaria Duron. She retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance after 30 years and also worked at Walgreens. Cecilia enjoyed traveling & gardening, spending time with her family and friends. She loved life and lived it to the fullest and will be greatly missed. Carruth -- Glenn C. Carruth, 79, a resident of Peralta, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2001. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Belen. He is preceded in death by two sons, Gary in 1967 and Larry in 2000. Glenn is survived by his wife, Audrey of the family home in Peralta; his daughter, Anita Visser and her husband, C. J. of Peralta; daughter-in-law, Jean; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Leona Fowler; Louise Owens; Zola Kessler; and Glenda Starnes; David; Everett and Elton. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Monday, June 4, 2001 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at Romero Funeral Home with Interment following at Terrace Grove Cemetery.
