JAMES -- Charles "Chuck" W. James, 69, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 9, 2009. He was preceded in death by his father, Dow James, Jr., and his mother, Mary Dunn. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maxine, of 35 years; son, Charles and his children, Sarah Lynn and William; son, Carlo and wife, Barbara, and their children, Melissa, Brandon, Micah, and Lidia; daughter, Suzanne and husband, Gilbert, and their children, Charlene and husband, Bobby, and Antonio Vigil; great-grandchildren, Angelo, Davien, and Anjelica. A special grandchild, Melonie, we all will remember. Chuck was a truck driver for many years and then became an instructor for Rocky Mountain Truck Service. He is loved and will be greatly missed by all his family. A special thanks goes to Heritage Home Healthcare & Hospice for their wonderful display of dignity and care. LOVATO -- Fred (Lico) Lovato, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2009. Mr. Lovato was married to the love of his life, Ofracia. They were married for 57 years when she was called away to heaven where she has been waiting for Fred to join her. Mr. Lovato is survived by his children, Katherine Nienow and husband, David, Lillian Retallack and husband, Roger, John Lovato, Linda Sanchez and husband, Denny, Roberta Woods and husband, RJ, and Fred Lovato III; a brother, Leonard Lovato; grandchildren, Judi Nienow, Jeremy Nienow, Lillian Hughes, Rudy Lovato, Daniel Lovato, Mercie Pisa, Charles Retallack, Antoinette Rivera, Cita Montoya, Denny Sanchez, Monica Sanchez, Clarence Woods, Rachel Woods, Vanessa Lovato, River Wind Lovato; twenty two great-grandchildren and his faithful dog, Teena Maree. Mr. Lovato proudly served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was stationed on the USS Tennessee. Mr. Lovato touched the lives of so many and had always happily helped many in need of his skills and kind words. His honesty and integrity were above reproach. Mr. Lovato taught his children and grandchildren to be independent and strong and they learned by his example, wisdom and guidance. The love he showed us all can never be replaced and will be with us always. Through our faith we are comforted to know that he is with his wife, Ofracia, his son, Rudy and his baby daughter, Ignacita. Mr. Lovato is also preceded to heaven by his parents and a brother. Mr. Lovato will be missed beyond words but he will always be in our hearts. This is his legacy of which he was very proud. Visitation will be Monday, July 13, 2009, in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Lupe Lopez, reciter. Final visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with a Communion Service to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Deacon Pablo Le Febre, presider. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nienow, Rudy Lovato, Daniel Lovato, Tyler Hughes, Charles Retallack, Denny Sanchez, Clarence Woods and River Wind Lovato. GUNTHER -- Charles John (CJ) Gunther was called to the Lord, May 29, 2009. CJ was born in Chicago, IL on March 22, 1917 to Fannie and Hans Gunther. Chuck (CJ) served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a baker on the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga. He married Katherine (Kay) Petracco in 1946, who preceded him in death in 1982. He then married Beulah Warner in 1984, who preceded him in death in 2003. Kay and Chuck had six boys and moved to Cochiti Lake, New Mexico from Springfield, IL in 1982. CJ is survived by his sons Gary and wife Marie of Poway, CA, Tony and wife Barb of Taylorville, IL, Steve and wife Lyn of Albuquerque NM, Tom and wife Ronda of North Ogden, Utah, Matt and wife Penny of Plano, TX, and John and wife Shari of Albuquerque. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. CJ was an integral member of the Belen Christian Church and later at the Valley Christian Church where he was involved in the choir, Bible study and many Missions. His greatest joy in life was his six boys and their tremendous families who will miss him dearly. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at Valley Christian Church on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., with a reception following.

HOPKINS -- Capitan Dave Austin Hopkins, 28, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2009. He was born September 21, 1980. Dave was a member of The First Baptist Church of Belfry, KY. He currently resided in Albuquerque, NM serving with the United States Air Force, 377th Dental Squadron KAFB. Dave attended Belfry High School, Transylvania University, and The University of Kentucky School of Dentistry. He is survived by his parents, Dr. Gary and Joyce Hopkins, Forest Hills, KY; sister, Carla Renee (Stephen) Griesch, Lexington, KY; his fiancee, Natasha Ospino, Albuquerque, NM; grandmother, Orlean Hopkins, Forest Hills, KY; special cousins, Mallie Blackburn, Allison Murrell, Megan Darrell, Garrick Hammonds, and Gina Brien; aunts and uncles, Col. Joe (Brook) Sparks, Sandy (Gary Neil) Blackburn, Pricy (David) Darrell, Karen (Danny) Kennedy, Missy (Geoff) Hammonds, Bill (Debbie) Sparks, and Janet Sparks; as well as numerous other family and dear friends. MAW -- John L. Maw, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 5, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Martha Maw; son, Charles Maw and wife Erin, daughter, Christina Maw; grandchildren, Charles John (CJ) and Harley Maw; brothers, Carl Maw and wife Gayle and Kent Maw and wife Wanda; mother-in-law Arvilla Poindexter; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Maw and Florence Heninger; brothers, Robert Maw and Neal Maw. John retired from the Air Force and was a 100% disabled veteran. John loved his family and his friends. Services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at French Westside Chapel located at 9300 Golf Course Rd NW. DAVIS -- Margaret T. Davis. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2009, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, for Margaret T. Davis, age 84 of Roswell, who passed away July 4, 2009. Pastor William E. Petersen of 1st United Methodist Church in Chattahoochee, Florida will officiate, with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery. Margaret was born June 7, 1925 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Tiller and Lucy Thacker. They both have preceded her in death. Margaret married Joe S. Davis on February 4, 1961 in Dallas, Texas. He has also preceded her in death. Margaret graduated in 1943 in St. Augustine, FL. She received her nursing degree from Baylor in Dallas, TX in 1947. She worked for Dr. Frank A. English from 1964 to 1974. She also worked for Eastern New Mexico Medical Center as head of recovery room from 1976 to 1992. She received the ENMMC Nurse of the year award in 1989. Margaret was active for many years in the New Mexico Nurse's Association, district 5 as president from 1986-88 and secretary from 1983-85 and 1991-93. She was also a charter member of the American Society of Post Anesthesia Nurses. She sat on the board of directors of the association from 1980-86, served as secretary for the board from 1986-87 and was a member of the Legislative Committee from 1989-90. Margaret was listed in several "Who's Who" almanacs including "Who's Who of American Women," "Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare", "Who's Who among Human Service Professionals" and Who's Who in American Nursing." Margaret also received the New Mexico Nursing Excellence Award in 2005 "Legends in Nursing" Survivors include a daughter, Dana L. Petersen and her husband Tracy; three step-grandchildren, Heather Egenes and her husband Steve, Eric Petersen and Taylor Petersen; and two great-step grandchildren: Alexandria and Danielle Egenes all of Albuquerque, NM. Pallbearers will be Mike Walsh, Troy Yancey, Charles Shannon, Jim Thompson, Dr. David Miller and Gary Bauder.
