MARES -- Margaret Mares died on January 8, 2005; she worked for 25 years for Montgomery Wards, and she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband former county commissioner, Isaac Mares. She is survived by her sons, Raymond Mares, Gilbert Mares and wife, Elsie; her brother in law, Joe Moya; her two sisters, Bessie Moya and husband, Billy, and Virginia Moya and husband, Eddie; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A visitation will take place on Monday the 10th, at Salazar & Sons Mortuary begining at 3:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at the Queen of Angels Church on 12th St and I-40, at 7:OO p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday the 11th at the Queen of Angels Church; Interment will follow at Mt. GRIEGO -- Robert Gerard Griego, 41, was called by the Lord suddenly, Wednesday, November 24, 2004. He was preceded in death by his half-brother, Robert E. Griego. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Bertha Griego; partner, Jody Mares; sister, Roseannette Bentz; brother, Michael Griego and wife, Ida; half -sisters, Louise Lovato and Loretta Thomason; half-brother, Larry Martinez; niece, Brittany Bentz; and nephew, Nicholas Griego; beloved dog, Gia; and many other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Gerard was loved by many. Everyone's lives were brightened by his presence, and he will be greatly missed. Viewing will be on Monday, November 29, 2004 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave. NW (4th and Mildred NW.), with the Rosary immediately following. A Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated at l0:00 am on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at St. Therese Catholic Church, with interment following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. BALDONADO -- Cecilia G. Baldonado, age 76, a lifelong resident of Belen, NM, the loving daughter of the late Felipe and Pablita Gonzales and the daughter-in-law of the late Jose Maria and Manuelita Baldonado, peacefully joined Our Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 14, 2004. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and at one time belonged to several Catholic societies. Cecilia was a long time member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Choir and she loved singing with her fellow choir members throughout the years. Cecilia was an accomplished seamstress and she loved making quilts and blankets at the Belen Senior Citizens Center where they donated all their works to various charities. She was a talented artist who made ceramics which she enjoyed giving away to family and friends. Cecilia retired from the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School as a teacher's aide after 22 years of outstanding service. Cecilia is preceded in death by her husband, Leonardo in 1999; her grandson, Jeffrey Baca in 1993 and her son-in-law, Robert Madrid in 2002; Orlando Sais in 1999. Cecilia is survived by her children, Eloy M. Baldonado, Mary Lou Olguin, Virginia Mares, Jane Madrid, Leroy Baldonado, Eileen and her husband, Richard T. Lowe and Barbie Baldonado; her grandchildren Michael and Becky Ewing, Phillip and Christine Baldonado, Keith and Shelly Olguin, Kevin and Marlene Baca, Karen Baca, Teara Fort, Armando Garcia, Renee Garcia, Crystal Garcia, Amy and Jeff Lindemann, Richard A. Lowe, Elizabeth Kimbrel, Lawrence L. Armijo, Miguel Padilla and Christana; her great- grandchildren, Monique and Avi Baldonado, Salem Ravyn Ewing, Macy Rae and Mandy Rae Olguin, Marissa and Jessica Baca, Brittanie Fort, Jazmine Baca, Devon Travis Garcia, Miley R. Regalado; her brothers, Ralph Gonzales and his wife, Phyllis, Louie Gonzales and his wife, Lena, Pat Gonzales and his wife, Gloria and Arthur Gonzales; one sister, Theresa Gonzales; She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church beginning with a viewing on Wednesday, November 17, 2004, from 6:30 to 7:00 followed by at Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2004. MARES -- Mary Mares, 75, passed away on November 5, 2004. She is survived by her sisters, Virginia Sanchez and husband, Fred and Lorella Garcia, both of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of which were very special to her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andres Mares in 2000 and Amanda Mares in 1999; her brother, Leo Mares; and her sister, Gloria Baca, in 2001. Mary loved crafts, gardening, pets, children's pictures and taking trips. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10 at Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. GONZALES -- Lugarda C. Gonzales, 97, of Fort Sumner, NM died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at her home. She was born July 21, 1907 in Fort Sumner to the home of Juan B. Casaus and the former Antonia Sandoval. Lugarda was reared at Fort Sumner where she attended and graduated from High School. She married Pablo Gonzales on November 19, 1928 in Fort Sumner. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Lugarda enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, and visiting with her family, friends, and neighbors. Lugarda was preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Gonzales on January 20, 1989; a son, Herman Gonzales on November 3, 1985; six sisters, Jenny Casaus, Delia Guerra, Mary Casaus, Celia Earley, Lala Mares, Excelsa Marquez; and a brother, John L. Casaus. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Agnes Garcia and husband, John of Roswell, NM; a sister, Esther Crisp and husband, Newell of Temecula, CA; and a brother, Charles Casaus and wife, Mary of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, John M. Garcia, Ernest Garcia, Chris Garcia, and Theresa Garcia; six great-grandchildren, Mike Garcia, Cassandra Arenivas, Paul Garcia, Serena Garcia, Carlos Ledesma, and Joseph Ledesma; and one great-great-grandchild, Nathanial Arenivas; along with many other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2004 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, NM; Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 with Father Hoi Tran officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include John M. Garcia, Ernest Garcia, Chris Garcia, Carlos Ledesma, Joseph Ledesma, Rumaldo Gonzales, and Mike Garcia.
