ANDERSON -- Dorigen L. Anderson, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Harold L. Anderson; daughter, Vicki Stewart and husband, Mike; grandsons, Chris Stewart and wife, Stephanie and Matthew Stewart, all of Spearman, TX; and sister, Dorothy Musser of Lone Tree, IA. She was preceded in death by her father, Bert Doerres and mother, Elizabeth Girrard Doerres. Mrs. Anderson was born and raised in Lone Tree, Iowa. She was certified by the Library of Congress as a Braillest. Mrs. Anderson transcribed many books for the blind. She also sold Avon for a few years in Albuquerque. Mrs. Anderson was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Naomi Women's Circle. Services will be held Friday, October 29, 2004, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. BAGBY -- Jean Bagby, 53, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2004 after a short battle with cancer. Jean was born on October 4, 1951 in Rockford, Illinois. She moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in December, 1967 and graduated from Mohave County Union High School in 1969. She attended Northern Arizona University and graduated in 1973. She married David in June, 1973, moving to Albuquerque. Jean worked for a number of years at the Bernalillo County Treasurer's office, attaining the position of Administrative Officer. She worked as a secretary at Christ Lutheran Church until the birth of her daughter, Melissa, at which time Jean retired from work outside the house to be a full time homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father, George Schwartz. Jean is survived by her husband, David, daughter, Melissa, mother, Geraldine Schwartz and brother John Schwartz. Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Rd. NE with Pastor Bruce Wilder, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. BOWMAN -- Terry L. Bowman died in his home in Albuquerque on October 20, 2004 at the age of 49. His grandparents, mother, an uncle, and two aunts preceded him in death. Terry is survived by sisters, Mailyn Everett and husband Vic, Judy Kirby and husband, Dan; aunt, Cora Dawes and uncle, James Patterson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be held Saturday in Rio Rancho.

CLARK -- Emily Clark, 84, crossed over peacefully at her home of 30 years, in Paradise Hills, with her daughter, Cynthia and her husband of 56 1 /2 years, Oren, at her bedside. She had been painfully ill for seven months, in and out of the hospital, and many days in nursing homes. Emily is survived by her husband, Oren K. Clark Sr.; daughter, Cynthia Clark; son-in-law, Michael Harvey; and granddaughter, Briana, all of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Marion Howard of Marcellus, NY; sister-in-law, Marilyn Clark of Vienna, VA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by one son, Oren Jr., and eldest granddaughter, Erica Clark Harvey. Private cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation would be appreciated, to either Presbyterian Hospice or Paradise Hills Fire Department. A living memorial service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Following services, a reception will be held at the home of Susie Singer in Paradise Hills, at the corner of Plunkett and Unitas LN, where everyone is welcome. DRUM -- Heister Hower Drum, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died on Friday, October 22, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Drum; one daughter, Barbara Sue Mathwig and husband, Wayne, of Pryor, OK; one sister, Louise Gearinger, of Bloomsburg, PA; two grandchildren, Emily Cacy of Tahlequah. OK and Bill Mauldin of Tulsa, OK; and one great-grandchild, Alexa Cacy of Tahlequah, OK. Mr. Drum was born in Mifflinville, PA and attended Bucknell University. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, and served in four campaigns in the European Theater in WWII. He was wounded in action and received the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Croix de Guerre. He was discharged from the Army in 1946 with the rank of Major and, in 1953, graduated from the University of New Mexico Law School. He practiced law for 33 years in Albuquerque, and upon retiring from this career, did volunteer work with the Literacy and Wilderness Conservation Programs. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars where he was Post Advocate for many years. According to the decedent's wishes, no public services are planned. GARCIA -- Maryann Garcia, age 98, beloved mother and grandmother, was called home by our Heavenly Father, Wednesday, October 27, 2004. Maryann was born in Golden, NM to the late Miguel and Donacina Martinez; and was a resident of Pena Blanca, NM. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pena Blanca. Maryann was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Garcia; two brothers, Manuel and George Martinez; and 13 children. She is survived by nine children, Clarance Garcia and wife Lucy, Gilbert Garcia and wife Gloria, Alfred Garcia, Oliver Garcia, David Garcia, Cora Martinez and husband Herman, Nora Armijo and husband Ernest, Lena Gonzales and husband Robert, Donna Herrera and husband Orlando; 36 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members and friends. Maryann will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Pena Blanca; where a Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. GONZALES -- Lugarda C. Gonzales, 97, of Fort Sumner, NM died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at her home. She was born July 21, 1907 in Fort Sumner to the home of Juan B. Casaus and the former Antonia Sandoval. Lugarda was reared at Fort Sumner where she attended and graduated from High School. She married Pablo Gonzales on November 19, 1928 in Fort Sumner. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Lugarda enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, and visiting with her family, friends, and neighbors. Lugarda was preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Gonzales on January 20, 1989; a son, Herman Gonzales on November 3, 1985; six sisters, Jenny Casaus, Delia Guerra, Mary Casaus, Celia Earley, Lala Mares, Excelsa Marquez; and a brother, John L. Casaus. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Agnes Garcia and husband, John of Roswell, NM; a sister, Esther Crisp and husband, Newell of Temecula, CA; and a brother, Charles Casaus and wife, Mary of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, John M. Garcia, Ernest Garcia, Chris Garcia, and Theresa Garcia; six great-grandchildren, Mike Garcia, Cassandra Arenivas, Paul Garcia, Serena Garcia, Carlos Ledesma, and Joseph Ledesma; and one great-great-grandchild, Nathanial Arenivas; along with many other relatives and friends. GOOD -- Dennis L. Good, 59, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Judy Guthrie; sons, Derek Good and wife, Cherise of Charleston, WV; Jered Good of Mansfield, OH; a granddaughter, Brittany Good; his mother, Frances Bowlus of Fremont, OH; brothers, Doug Good and wife, Melody; and Greg Good and wife, Susan; sisters, Becky Legg and husband, Leonard; and Maria Good; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roland and his wife, Judy and his father, Walter. Dennis was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Fremont, Ohio and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Bowling Green State University. He served his country in the U. S. Navy as a Medical Corpsman in Vietnam. He was a licensed counselor who worked over 29 years in the mental health field. Mr. Good worked for the Center for Individual and Family Services as Director of Community Support in Mansfield, Ohio. Dennis was employed at Pathways, Inc. for ten years and most recently as Clinical Director of The Crossroads in Albuquerque. He loved outdoor activities, especially sailing and also enjoyed kayaking, in the wooden kayaks he built. GREGG -- Andrew K. Gregg (Andy) Passed away peacefully Monday, October 25, 2004 at age 75. A Wisconsin native, he was the only child of Burt and Frieda (Beaudette) Gregg. He is survived by his wife, Fay Sherwood Gregg; and daughter, Tanley McMullen of Albuquerque; and son, Andrew Jr. of New Hampshire; and two grandchildren, Ari and Shelby Gregg. At one time, Andy was the only photographer for The Albuquerque Tribune, but later wrote fiction for children and adults. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.

GUINN -- Dwight Guinn, 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2004. He was the beloved son of John and Crystal Guinn, and beloved son-in-law of John and Nell Curry. He is survived by his wife, Nelle E. Guinn; brother, Oliver F. Guinn; daughter, Paula G. Cate and her husband, Bill; son, Rod Guinn and wife, Dana; and grandchildren, Seth and Jessica Cate. Mr. Guinn was born in Meeker, Oklahoma and served his country in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. An Albuquerque resident for 45 years, he was a long time member of Monte Vista Christian Church, and had been active in Gideons International and the Optimist Club. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. A service will be held Friday, 4:00 p.m., October 29, 2004 at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE. LANGLEY -- Betty Jo Caruthers Langley, 82 years old went to be with her Lord on October 24, 2004. Betty was the last surviving sibling of Corbin J. and Vada Gertrude Ann Brown Caruthers. She was born October 30, 1921 in Hendrix, Oklahoma and graduated from Achille, OK High School. Betty was a retired cosmetologist. Betty married Vernon W. Wakefield in February, 1942. They later divorced. On April 28, 1956, Betty Jo married Lloyd D. Langley in Lordsburg, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert; daughter, Patricia Ann Britton; brothers, Paul Corbin and Norman H. Caruthers; sisters, Noreen McKenna, Doris Jones, Mildred Rocus and Joan Ellis. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Langley; daughter, Jo Lynn Williams; granddaughters, Kimberlee J. Lockhart and Mary E. Boyington; grandsons, Jacob P. and Troy D. Langley; sister-in-law, Tilda Caruthers and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friends, Renee and Chago Santiago. PETTIT -- Donald Roy Pettit, 66, a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Pettit; son, Robert Pettit and wife, Parr; daughter, Rachel Rauch and husband, Rick; sisters, Dianne Pettit, Polly Pettit and husband, Peter Dowling; his grandchildren, Chas, Janey, Reagan, and Avery Pettit; niece Jocelyn Dowling; twelve cousins; his extended family; and many friends. Don attended public school in Galesburg, Illinois. He graduated from DePauw University, Green Castle, Indiana in 1960. Don completed a Master's Degreee at Milliken University, Decatur, Illinois in 1966. His musical career included college teaching, public school music, music retail and church music. For twenty-five years he was co-owner of the Pajarito Yamaha Music school of Albuquerque, where his teaching and presence touched the lives of many children and adults. Don was a member of The Cathedral Church of St. John, and was serving on its Vestry as Adult Education Ministry Liaison. He was a member of the Cathedral Choir. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2004, 3:00 p.m., at The Cathedral Church of St. John, 4th St. at Silver SW. ROEHL -- Jeanne Scott Roehl, 89, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 27, 2004. The daughter of a pioneer New Mexican family, she was born on July 15, 1915 in Clovis, New Mexico. Her father, James Foster Scott, M.D., was the first physician in Clovis. He would cover for W.R. Lovelace, who then practiced medicine in Fort Sumner before coming to Albuquerque and founding the Lovelace Clinic. Jeanne skipped one grade in middle school and finished college in three years, completing her course work for a B.A. from UNM in 1935 at age 19. She had been a student teacher at Albuquerque High at age 18 and was younger than some of her students. She was a violinist in the Albuquerque Symphony Orchestra. She initially taught school in Roswell and then at Lew Wallace Elementary in Albuquerque. She married Joseph E. Roehl on November 1, 1938. She sold advertising for the New Mexico Sentinel newspaper from 1938-40. She did post-graduate work at the University of Texas in Austin in 1943-44. She had been active in the Junior League of Albuquerque in the Forties and early Fifties and remained a Sustaining Member. For many years she had been a member of the Board of Directors of the Rehabilitation Center of New Mexico, for whom she did a survey in 1968 which resulted in the first state-supported Workshop for the Handicapped. She had also served on the Board of Directors of the Cerebral Palsy Day School and the Chaparral Girl Scout Council. In her later years, she was fond of raising and training champion Cairn terriers and was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was blessed with so many wonderful friends, many of whom she had since her college years, including those in her long-time bridge and book clubs. "Mim" enjoyed playing games and story-telling with her grandchildren in their younger years, culminating in being "Madam Zelda," the gypsy fortune-teller, at her grandkids' Halloween parties. She was predeceased by her parents, James Foster Scott and Fannie MacMillan Scott; her sister, Ruth Scott Barton; her brother, Robert Scott; and her husband, Joseph E. Roehl. She is survived by her sister, Mildred Page of Clovis; her children, Jay, Jerry, and Ginger DePalma; and her grandchildren, Dan, John, KC, Matt, Ryan, and Taylor; and her daughter-in-law, Nancy. Special thanks to Theresa Lucero, her caregiver. Memorial services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4020 Lomas Boulevard N.E. at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2004. URIZAR -- Manuel J. Urizar, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1987, died on October 24, 2004. He is survived by two daughters, Anne Urizar of Tucson, AZ and Arlene Highfill and husband, Mack of Albuquerque; sister, Frances MacRoberts and husband, Martin of Los Alamos, NM; four grandchildren, Cecily Urizar-Faught of Tucson, AZ; Meghan Heddings and husband, Nick of Tucson, Nicole Highfill of Albuquerque, and Ehren Highfill of Phoenix. Manuel was raised in Burns, Oregon where he graduated from Burns-Union High School in 1937 at the age of 16. After high school, he graduated with honors from the University of Portland where he had been president of his graduating class. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Pacific Theater of Command in WWII. After the war, he completed his Masters Degree in Physical Chemistry from Catholic University in Washington, DC. Manuel began his career with Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1947, where he received many distinguished awards. He lived 40 years in Los Alamos until his retirement in 1987. In retirement, he enjoyed family and friends, traveling, playing bridge and golf. Manuel was our beloved and loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. His love and generosity touched the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Memorial Rosary will be recited on Monday, November 1, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel with Deacon Steve Rangel reciting. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW with Father John Conway, celebrant. VERCHINSKI -- Paul P. Verchinski (Wiercinski), 88, of Albuquerque, formerly of East Hartford, CT, beloved husband of Genevieve (Klopotowski) Verchinski, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 in Reston, VA. Born in Jermyn, PA as the son of the late Adam and Michalina Wiercinski, grandson of the late Aleksandar Wiercinski and Anna Osmolshich of the diocese of Drohyczyn, Poland. He had lived in Jermyn as the son of a coal mining and shop keeping family, graduated Jermyn High School and studied law at the University of Scranton. He had lived in East Hartford for 40 years. He was a production line worker at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft during WWII, an early teacher of IBM systems, and became chief of data processing for the CT State Tax Department. A former communicant of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford CT., he was a gold star member of the Polish Falcons and a member of the Polish National Alliance. He moved to New Mexico 13 years ago to retire. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Paul and his wife, Therese Verchinski of Columbia, MD, Thomas and his wife, Mabel Verchinski of Southington, and Stephen Verchinski with Carolyn Johnson of Albuquerque, NM. He leaves five grandchildren, Beth Ann, Peter, Kara, David, Jason; and a great-grandson, Joel Thomas. He also leaves two brothers, Adam and his wife, Joan Verchinski of Wayne, NJ, and Peter Verchinski of Gulfport, MS: a sister, Victoria Musial in Eynon, PA; and was predeceased by a son, Thaddeus Verchinski, a brother, Phillip, and a sister, Jeanne Zlotucha. The funeral was held Tuesday, October 5 with a Mass of Christian Burial at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, Hartford. Burial was held October 6 at Our Lady of Czestochowa National Shrine Cementery, Doylestown, PA.
