KNUTSON -- Susan C. Knutson (Susie). A Memorial service to honor the life of Susie Knutson will be held Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Family Life Church in Gillette with Pastor Martin Crump officiating. Susie, age 60, passed away at UNM Hospital on October 31, 2009. Susie was born on May 6, 1949, to Roy E. and Lorene (Sonne) Knutson. She grew up in Newcastle, WY and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1967. She continued her education at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, graduating with a degree in Home Economics and later a Masters in Education. She moved to Albuquerque where she was a Conference Coordinator for the Housing Department at UNM; she was later employed as an Archivist by Sandia Labs. In the early 1990's, Susie spoke before Congress in Washington, DC to promote the necessity for a Vietnam Women's Memorial on the Mall in Washington DC. Susie was so full of love and life around her friends and family; she loved playing the piano, guitar, and organ and loved singing. She was well loved by many friends who were involved with her in various groups, including Course in Miracles, Internders, and Authentic Women. She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Tanya) Hansen and John (Kim) Hansen; father, Roy Knutson; brothers Kevin, Butch and Jim; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Spencer and Addison; various and nephews and many beloved friends. SCOBY -- Betty Jo Scoby, born February 17, 1934 in Tucumcari, NM left this life November 10, 2009. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Opal Lowe; her first husband Gene Street; and son-in-law Bob Gorsline. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joe Scoby; her only sister, Shirley Swindle and her husband Don; five children, daughters Carman Lasiter and her husband Calvan, Judy Street and her partner Pietro, Annette Martin and her husband Darell, sons Bob Scoby and his wife Vicky, Greg Scoby and his wife Dana; fourteen grandchildren; Tonya Littrell, Sheri Jones and her husband Darwyn, Samantha McCoy and her husband Woody, Megan, Taylor and Grant Scoby, Kaisi Ingersoll-Jaramillo and her husband Israel, Kory Ingersoll and his wife Trish, Laura, Claire and Kyle Scoby, Paul Gorsline and his wife Feydra, Karyn Murman and her husband Chris, and Andrea Gorsline. Eleven great grandchildren, Dmiri and Savannah Jones, Ariel and Rhylyn Jones, Faith and Israel Jaramillo, Fisher, London, and Avyn Gorsline, Khloe Ingersoll and Ella Murman. And her son-in-law Mike Ingersoll and countless friends. Betty was a retired R.N. working at Presbyterian Hospital and State Hospital Turquoise Lodge. She was a faithful member of Netherwood Park Church of Christ. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother and an awesome "Grannie" who will be deeply missed and never forgotten. There will be a viewing on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services Carlisle Chapel. CHAVEZ -- Joseph F. born February 11, 1946 in Albuquerque, NM. Affectionately known as Papa, Nano, Grandpa, Daddy-O and Mi Vida, passed away at home November 5, 2009 after a battle with cancer. Joseph was loved by many and well known for his willingness to help others. He served in the US Army and US Navy as a German linguist. He recently retired from The City of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by parents, Felix Chavez and Martha Lee and his sister Janice Armstrong. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Rosemary; granddaughter Marina Paradise; children; Martin Garcia and fiancee Holly Porter, Cynthia and Jack Paradise; siblings; Darlene and Milton Saiz, Larry and Maya Chavez, Jim Armstrong, Karen and Bryan Beck, Ernest and Cece Garcia, Reymundo Garcia, Eddie and Lena Garcia, Marina and Orlando Roybal, Virginia and Tony Archuleta, Manuel Martinez, Kathy Martinez, Diane and Phillip Lovato and Felimon Gallegos Jr.; cousin Armida Quezada; many special nephews, nieces, other family and friends who loved and will miss him. GOSSETT -- Mary Elizabeth Lawrence Gossett (Beth), born on January 23, 1983 in Mocksville, NC, passed away suddenly on November 4, 2009. She is survived by her husband Christopher; and sons Noah and Parker; mother and stepfather, Dee Dee and Buzz Martin; father and stepmother Mark and Sherry Lawrence; and brother Zachary. Beth moved to New Mexico in June 2003 to be near her in-laws, Karen and Craig Wilkinson and Anthony Gossett and many extended family and friends. DIAZ -- Willie Diaz, age 63, a beloved husband, brother and uncle, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 3, 2009. He was born on September 19, 1946 in Alcade, NM to the late Maria and Juan Diaz. Willie is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Rose Diaz; a son Michael Diaz; and his sister, Annabel Maestas and husband Armando; and other numerous relatives and a host of friends. LOPEZ -- Albert T. Lopez, 81, a resident of Old Town, Albuquerque died Saturday, October 31, 2009. He is survived by his son, Alex J. Lopez; and daughter, Diane Lopez; grandsons, Michael G. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen H. Lopez; parents, Jose and Veneranda Lopez; brothers, Adan Lopez, Leo Lopez; sisters, Elvie Parker , Bennie Fulton. He was born in Escobosa, NM. He worked for Duke City Lumber for 45 years, was a member of San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town and was a member of the GI Forum. Rosary will be recited Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at San Felipe de Neri Church.
