BANDONI -- Joseph John Bandoni (Beppe) a life long resident of Albuquerque went to his heavenly home to be with the Lord on November 3, 2009. Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife Frances; his children Vivian Summey and husband Richard of Dallas, TX, Gail Corondoni and husband Chris of Burbank, CA, David Smithson, Les Smithson and wife Kristine of Kennesaw, GA, Debra Johansson and husband Peter, and Anna Ahlgren; grandchildren Joshua Summey and wife Erin, Andrew Summey and wife Carla, Timothy Summey and wife Rachel, Alexander Corondoni, Isabelle Rothbard and husband Bill, Vivian Janzen and husband David, Melissa Katerman and husband Jason, Jonathan Brothers, Jason Smithson, Amanda Giannini, Jennifer Duffy and husband Eduardo, Stephanie Morales and husband Nicolas, Bryan Smithson, Kimberly Brothers, Jacob Giannini, Sara Ahlgren and Steven Ahlgren; great-grandchildren Benjamin, Noam, Eden, Liora, Luke, Lowell, Isabella, and Lola. Joseph was preceded in death by his grandson Richard. Joseph served his country in the Philippines during WWII and survived the Bataan Death March. Joseph's joys in life were his beloved family, his many friends and his devotion to the Catholic Church. He will be especially remembered for the way he contributed his time and talent to help whenever needed. A Rosary will be recited Friday, November 6, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar and Sons Mortuary. BOOTHE -- Lydia Carr Boothe, passed away on November 1, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to Horace and Jeanne Carr in New Orleans, LA. Lily devoted her life to her family and God; her courage and faith inspired all who knew her. She was an avid gardener and loved to travel, and a true southern lady. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Lydia is survived by her husband, Frank Boothe Sr.; and their children, Frank Boothe Jr., William Boothe and wife Joanna, Steve Boothe, Elena Crenshaw and husband, Chris, Alysan Boothe Collins and husband, Parrish; grandchildren, Trey Boothe, Christina Boothe, Jessica Boothe, Stephanie Boothe, Melissa Boothe, Morgan Boothe, Hayden Collins, Kristen Crenshaw, Brennan Collins, Caroline Boothe, Cody Crenshaw and Isabel Collins. DIAZ -- Willie Diaz, age 63, a beloved husband, brother and uncle, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 3, 2009. He was born on September 19, 1946 in Alcade, NM to the late Maria and Juan Diaz. Willie is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Rose Diaz; a son Michael Diaz; and his sister, Annabel Maestas and husband Armando; and other numerous relatives and a host of friends. Willie will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary. FOX -- Dale H. Fox, 76, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Born in Port Huron, MI, he moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1970. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Luana; children, Carrie Diedrich and husband Bill, Jeff Fox and wife Deena, Brenda Satar, Mike Hendricks and wife Nancy, Tim Fox and wife Julia, Mark Hendricks and wife Sunnee and Jill Griggs and husband Donald. Dale is also survived by his brother, Gary Fox and wife Evi; brother-in-law Larry Strickland and wife Sheriece; grandchildren, Brian Diedrich and wife Ashleigh, Kristi Diedrich, Mollie Brown and husband Jake, Chris Satar, Jacob Fox, Isaac Fox, Jason Fox, Jaeden Hendricks, Railee Hendricks, Hannah Williams, Jonathon Fox, Hans Hendricks, Ashley Fox, Heather Fox and Emma Griggs; great-grandchildren Landon and Bristol and many other family and friends. He was master and companion to Murphy, his loving and faithful Lhaso Apso. Mr. Fox served in the US Air Force, 98th Air Refueling Squadron, managed shoe stores and department stores, designed and manufactured shoes, designed and manufactured clothing and bootjack. He was a designer and manufacturer of furniture and doors, land developer and house flipper - extraordinaire, designer and manufacturer of a loving family and community of friends. He was also Mens Leather Clothing Designer of the year in 1978, Autumn Wood Furniture and Door/Fox Manufacturing owner/partner with stores in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Las Cruces specializing in custom woodwork from 1974 to the present. He was New Mexico Small Business Person of the Year in 1992, National Blue Chip Award for overcoming adversity in business also in 1992, Albuquerque Mover and Shaker in 1993, Albuquerque Mayoral Candidate in 1993, opened first free-standing shoe store in the U.S., the ultimate salesman all through his life - "always round up!", mentor, entrepreneur, and community advocate (and rebel rouser). He was a founding member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Denver, CO, and actively envolved member of New Covenant Church, team member on mission trips to El Salvador to build houses and build relationships with the people, master door greeter and hugger at New Covenant Church as well. This loving, tough, caring, cranky, strong, intimidating, faithful father and friend, proud grandfather and gentle giant never realized the impact he had on those he met. Dale was a vicious warrior against cancer for 18 years forever ready for the next step, cure or hope to prolong his life with his family and friends. God allowed him to not be intimidated, to live life to the fullest and never be afraid of a challenge. He ALWAYS saw the potential in every opportunity. The value of his belief in God, his family and his friends along with the open-door policy he kept at his home defined his life. He taught us to never forget the importance of family. FRANCHINI -- Gene Edward Franchini, 74, was born in May 19, 1935 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gene passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 while giving a lecture to UNM 1st year law students. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mario and Lena Franchini; and his daughter, Lori Franchini Basham. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Glynnie Franchini; son, Joseph (Jamie) Elias and wife, Carla Wersonick; daughters, Pamela Trent, Nancy Franchini and husband, Jim Edgcomb, Gina Franchini and husband, Eddie Landis; and eight grandchildren, including his most precious Rebecca; and his brother, Jim Franchini. He is survived by many, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gene attended St. Mary's grade and high school, Loyola University of the South, New Orleans, Louisiana, received BBA degree from the University of New Mexico, Anderson School of Business, JD degree from Georgetown University in Washington DE and an LLM degree from the University of Virginia. He was admitted to practice in 1960 and would have celebrated next year his 50th anniversary in the field he so loved. Gene spent 32 years as a trial lawyer, six years as a District Judge and 12 years on the New Mexico Supreme Court. He was presiding judge of the Second Judicial District 1978-1979 and Chief Justice 1997-1998. While serving as Chief Justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court, he was elected by the National Conference of Chief Justices as Second Vice-President of their Board of Directors. During his career, he served as Chairman of the Personnel Board for the Labor Relations Board and Interim Board of Ethics of the City of Albuquerque. He lectured annually at the University of New Mexico School of Law and was active in the New Mexico and Albuquerque Bar Associations. He was the first president of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association. He received a number of awards over the years including the Albuquerque Bar Outstanding Judge Award in 1997 and the New Mexico Bar Pioneer award in 1998. In 2003 he received the Seth Montgomery Distinguished Judicial Service Award from the State Bar of New Mexico. In 2004 he received the Golden Gavel Award from the National High School Mock Trial Championship, Inc. He was Chairman of the Client Protection Task Force of the New Mexico Bar Association in 2009 and was inducted into the Anderson School of Management Hall of Fame in 2008. His history also includes: Staff Judge Advocate, New Mexico Air National Guard, Member Board of Directors of the Albuquerque Bar Association, Chairman Personnel Board for the City of Albuquerque, Chairman Labor Relations Board, Chairman Interim Board of Ethics, Co-chairman New Mexico Medical-Legal Board, Chairman Board of Trustees for Heights General Hospital, Member and Legal Counsel for the Board of Directors of Southwest Distributing Company. He was a member of the following: New Mexico Bar Association, Albuquerque Bar Association, New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, American Board of Trial Advocates, New Mexico American Inn of Court, Liaison Justice for the New Mexico Board of Bar Examiners, Co-Chairman of New Mexico Commission of Professionalism. After retiring from the New Mexico Supreme Court on December 31, 2002, he continued his love of law by doing mediations and arbitrations. As an appellate justice, he authored over 160 and participated in over 425 published opinions. GOSSETT -- Mary Elizabeth Lawrence Gossett (Beth), born on January 23, 1983 in Mocksville, NC, passed away suddenly on November 4, 2009. GREEN -- Catherine R. "Rosie" Green, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Sunday, November 1, 2009. She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Bill Green; sons, Bill Green, Jr. and wife, Robin, and Tom Green and wife, Ginger; grandchildren, Cathy Sweeney, David Green, Justin Green, Dallas Green all of Albuquerque, and Heather Sanchez and husband, Javier of Portales; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy Kline of Arizona, and Earl Kline of Australia; and sister, Lillie May Kline of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Green was active with the Salvation Army in Pennsylvania prior to moving to Albuquerque, and became a member of the Episcopal Church after coming to Albuquerque. She was a member and past president of the Albuquerque Chapter of the American Business Women's Association. Rosie also volunteered with the Animal Humane Association. HACKER -- Walter F. Hacker, 100, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1972, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Walter was born November 13, 1908, the son of Walter and Frieda Garazin Hacker in Chicago, Illinois. He had been an accountant in insurance before he retired. Walter was an avid bridge player. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Bernice Hacker; and one son, Richard Hacker. LOVELADY -- Justin Douglas Lovelady, born in Albuquerque, New Mexico November 2, 1974 died unexpectedly on October 19, 2009 in Agoura, California. Justin was preceded in death by his father, Doug Lovelady; and maternal grandmother, Ruth Lovelady. He is survived by, his daughters, Addie, and Emma; his mother, Cindy Rafferty; step-father, Gary Rafferty; sister Kelsey Rafferty; brothers Joseph and Michael Rafferty; paternal grandfather, Wayne Lovelady; maternal grandparents, Carl and Jane Zickert; aunts, Karen Lovelady Moore, and Laurie Lovelady Garnett; uncle David Lovelady; and many extended friends and family. LUCERO -- Paul R. Lucero, Jr., (aka Pablo, Brother Bull) 41, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 4, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife, Selina, his devoted children Marianna, Angelica, and Paul III, his parents Paul Sr. (Bub) and JoAnn, mother-in-law Mary Cruz, his brothers Joseph (Bull) and wife Cecilia, Steven (Little Bull) and wife Jackie, brothers-in-law Rudy (Virginia), Michael, Johnny (Karen) Tony (Vickie), sisters-in-law Cathy (Al), Roberta (Mike) and Connie (JJ), nephews Joseph, Steven, Jackson, James, nieces Samantha and Alexandra, uncles Ray (Ernestine), Raul, Roger, Herman (Edie), aunts Loretta, Clara (Robert), and Monie (Frankie), "bestest buds" Antonio "Moe" Maestas, and Michael Laredo, and numerous cousins, friends, and acquaintances. Paul was a 1986 graduate of Valley High School, (where he was involved in ROTC and played football as a Viking). He worked as a jack of all trades in construction (primarily as a carpenter), and was a good husband and father. He loved classic rock/hard rock, and country music, cooking and eating New Mexican foods, barbecuing, partying with his family and friends, hard work, philosophizing about life, and constantly joking around. He was extroverted, and friendly to all he met. He was proud of his family and of his New Mexican culture/heritage, loved Matanzas and socializing. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Ramon and Juanita Martinez, and Clarencio and Bertha Lucero. A rosary will be prayed on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial (presided over by Fr. Gerald Steinmetz, OFM) at 9:00am, at the place where he prayed with his family, Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco SW. Interment of cremains will follow at a later date. Pallbearers will be nephews James, Joseph, Steven, Jackson, cousin Raymond, and Antonio "Moe" Maestas. MOBLY -- Sandra K. Mobly, beloved daughter and friend, died Monday, November 2, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM, after a brief illness. Sandra, 60, is survived by her mother, Betty J. Smith; stepfather, William E. Smith; and many relatives, godchildren, and friends. Sandra was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1975 with a B.A. degree in Classics. She operated two of her own businesses from 1970 to 1978. In 1979, she joined Allstate Insurance, Dallas, TX, as an agent trainee. She became a well respected executive sales leader during her 26 year career with Allstate. Sandra was a member of the National Association of Financial Advisors. She earned Key Manager, one of the company's most prestigious sales awards 17 times. She also earned its highest sales award, The Spirit of the Eagle, in 2001. After retiring in 2005, she spent much of her time visiting with friends all over the world. She loved art, cooking, reading, and fly fishing, especially at her second home in Angel Fire, NM. She had most recently become a member of the NM Community Emergency Response Team. Sandra had many friends and was much admired by all who knew her. A celebration of Sandra's life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009, 1:00 p.m., at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano NW, Albuquerque, NM. MUSICK -- Mary Louise Musick, 81, three year resident of Moriarty, and thirty year resident of Deming, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2009. SMITH -- Glen Alden Smith, 80, passed away, Saturday, October 31, 2009. He was born February 12, 1929 in Albuquerque a son of Roy Lilburn and Beryl Marie Fitzjarrald Smith. He retired from General Electric after 40 years of dedicated service. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include one son and one daughter; Gary A. and his wife, Barbara Smith of Rio Rancho; Carolyn A. Holder, Fairview, OR; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie and her husband, Bill Harvey, Albuquerque, Anita and her husband, Lee Purdam, San Angelo, TX. SPREACKER -- Kyle A. Spreacker, age 92, was born in Nehawka, Nebraska on June 18, 1917. He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, and went to be with the Lord on November 3, 2009. He is survived by his beloved wife, Aletha; and four sons, Gary (Carola) of Roswell, NM, Craig (Cindy) of Albuquerque, NM, Michael (Esther) of Pasco, WA, and Marlin of Albuquerque, NM; and also by multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kyle served nearly three years in the armed services. Kyle and Aletha were married 67 years. Kyle worked 30 years for PNM of Albuquerque, NM, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. SPRUNK -- Dionisia Marie Sprunk -August 30, 1935 to November 3, 2009. Known to many as Diane, Dionisia was born August 30, 1935 to Demetrio and Elijia Montoya in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She grew up in the Santa Barbara neighborhood where she spent her free time mischievously with her five sisters and three brothers. Married in November 1952, Dionisia raised four children in Albuquerque before moving to Grants in 1974. Dionisia was a giving, selfless woman who involved herself in many community activities. Her two most prominent being the B.P.O.E. Does and the Hospital Auxiliary. She served the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop for 17 years eventually becoming a chairwoman, retiring only because her health could not afford her the ability to continue. Camping, fishing, embroidery, and bowling were among Dionisia's favorite pastimes. A loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dionisia lived for her family placing them above all else. She looked forward to opportunities when everyone could come together. As she grew older, her greatest joy was passing time sharing stories of all the precious memories that were created, memories that her surviving loved ones will cherish forever. Dionisia passed away surrounded by her family Tuesday morning, November 3, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister. Dionisia is survived by her sisters, Bernadita Casados of Los Angeles, Loretta Carter and Amadeo of Albuquerque and Deolinda Garcia of Albuquerque; brother, Larry Montoya of San Diego; daughters, Sandra Mancha and Tomas of Albuquerque, Wanda Chavez and Raul of Grants, Janice Villegas and Andrew of Kenai; son, Gary Sprunk of Gallup; grandchildren, Consuelo Wright and John of Albuquerque, Jessica Doyle and Todd of Farmington, Camille Sprunk of Milan, Andrea Olivas and Joshua of Albuquerque, Jolynn Chavez of Grants, David Sprunk of Albuquerque, Orlando Mancha of Albuquerque, Eli Chavez of Grants, and Valerie Villegas of Kenai; great-grandchildren Brandon Chavez of Grants, Elijah Olivas of Albuquerque, and Haleigh Doyle of Farmington; as well as countless cousins and friends.
