SEIDEL -- Agnes S. Seidel, age 91, passed away on April 11, at the Dan Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari following an illness. Agnes was born February 12, 1916 in Pintada, NM to the home of Abel Saiz, Sr., and Fulgencia Martinez Saiz. She married Theodore Seidel on June 19, 1938. Agnes worked as a Social Worker and Office Manager for the Social Services Department. After her retirement she volunteered her time and services for the Area Agency on Aging at the Campos Senior Citizens as Director of the Nutrition Site for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Agnes enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, she loved her cats, and enjoyed assisting the elderly prepare their Income Tax. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Theodore; brothers and sisters; Donato Saiz, Adelaido Saiz, Leo Saiz, Abel Saiz, Jr., Esther Alarid, Helen Mondragon, Magdalena Saiz and Mary Ortega. Survivors include her sisters; Lola Saiz of Santa Rosa, Ramona Esquibel of California and her brother Frank Saiz and wife Faby of Santa Rosa; special nieces, nephews and caregivers; Gloria J. Chavez, Roberta Blea and husband Richard, Fulgencia Chavez, Tim Baca, Donny Alarid and Leroy Apodaca. Goddaughter; Michelle Baca and husband Edward, great nieces and nephews; Gina Sena and husband Andrew, Alexandria Chavez and Fiance Zachary Beck, great great nieces and nephews Khadijah, Joshuah, Santiago, Czarina, Ethan and Baby Zack. Also surviving are her special friends, Lupita Flores, Gloria Mcnees and Pauline Schilling as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rosary services will be conducted on Sunday, March 15, at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Chritian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 16, at 11:00 a.m. also from St. Rose Church. LOPEZ -- Lorenzo G. Lopez, 80, of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 28, 2007. He was a member of the Catholic Church, Activest Contractor, boxer. Lorenzo served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his loving family, Bruce and Mary Ann Nieto, Lorraine Flores, John and Betty Lopez, Leroy and Patty Lucero, Rudy and Dorothy Lopez, Gavino and Peggy Lopez, Billy and Cathy Lopez, and Eddie "Tacho" Lopez; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Nelva Cordova; brother, Damian and wife, Ofelia Lopez; and many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his wives, Lucy of 50 years and Gloria of ten years; sons, Freddie C. Lopez and Lawrence Lopez. Lorenzo will be greatly missed by his family. A Rosary will be recited at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 Stover Ave. SW, on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Santa Fe at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Bruce Nieto Jr., Robert Flores, Fred Lopez Jr., Gabriel Lopez, Leroy Lucero Jr., Chris Lopez, and Michael Lopez. BACA -- Luis J. Baca, 81, passed away on March 8, 2007 at his son's home surrounded by his family. He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Tillie R. Baca; two sons, Alex Baca and wife, Nancy, and Vernon Baca and wife, Josie; grandchildren, Alex, Tammy, Veronica, Lisa; and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Hannah, Hayley, Joseph Jr, Isabel, Elijah, Holly, Brittney, Isiah, Noah, and Natalie; sisters, Toni Bustamante, Connie Jaynes, Ramona Flores from California, and Lupe Hooker from California; and brothers, Johnny Baca and wife, Lupie and Ruben Baca and wife, Carol, from California. Cpl. Luis J. Baca, 38583434 Company L 422 Infantry Regiment 106th Infantry Division, participated in the greatest land battle, "The Battle of the Bulge". Luis J. Baca was captured and imprisoned by the Nazis in December 1944 in a Zittau work camp. He was liberated by the Russians in May 1945. He was a member of the Zittau survivors, which are Clifford and Patricia Austin, John Burke, Jean Langham, Alfred and Jackie Shoffit, Lawrence and Mary Dwyer, Thomas and Loretta Myers, Grace Trammell, Jesse W. and Erma Hadaway, Margaret Myers, Helen Tufano, Cassie Baker, Marguerite Haight, Juanita Noblin, James and Marte Twinn, James and Janet Benkert, Mary Hartt, Watson and Dorothy Petty, Dorothy Weeks, Dorothy Benniger, Everett and Ruth Howland, Marge Picoriello, Mae Wells, John Burke, Val and Mary Kruska, Francis and Nancy Plumly. Dad, you are our hero, in life and in death. Be the wind under your Angels' wings and fly up into heaven. We love and we will miss you always. "Old soldiers never die, they just fade away." She was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish. She was involved in: Lay Associate of the Canossian Sisters, and the Marianites, since they began in the parish as the Legion of Mary, Eucharistic Minister. She volunteered for Casa Angelica, and in her later years, shared many activities with the Golden Agers of the parish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley; an infant daughter, Edwina; a son, Charlie; and three brothers, Gregorio, Tony, and Gene. She is survived by her children, Paulina Snyder of Chino Valley, AZ, Arthur Griego of Albuquerque, Marie Contreras and husband, Armando of Superior, AZ, Albert Griego of Huntington Beach, CA, Frances Flores and husband, George of Albuquerque, Andy Griego of Huntington Beach, CA, and Linda Martinez and husband, Mark of Albuquerque; three sisters, Teresina Lopez, Maclovia Espinoza, and Celia Meredith; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. CORDOVA -- Margaret G. Cordova, age 92, born in Canyon de Jemez, NM, a resident of Albuquerque formerly of Cuba, NM, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Valle Norte Caring Center, while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 4, 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reyes and Anita Garcia; two brothers; four sisters; her husband, Danoe Cordova; and a grandson, Randy Luna. Margaret is survived by four daughters, Theresa Luna and husband, Al of San Dimas, CA, and her family, Bernice Jaramillo and husband, John, Priscilla Cordova, and Annie Martinez and husband, Ted; one son, Larry D. Cordova; six grandchildren, Mark Cordova, Adrian Cordova and wife Dina, Melissa Pohl and husband, David, Dion Jaramillo and wife, Eva, Marissa Flores and husband, Paul, Teddy Martinez and Julie Romero; seven great-grandchildren, Tanisha Martinez, Joshua Cordova, Olivia Cordova, Isiah Pohl, Maya Pohl, Jacob Jaramillo, and Spencer Jaramillo; two sisters, Benita Sandoval and Rebecca Padilla and husband, Leandro, both of Cuba, NM. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Margaret will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. MALDONADO -- Amelia Maldonado went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2006 at the age of 73. She was born on February 26, 1932, in Corona, NM, to Jacinto and Elveria Flores. Amelia enjoyed ceramics, cooking for her family, camping, gardening, needle point, spending time with her family and teaching her grandchildren to cook. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacinto and Elveria Flores; her brother, Richard Flores; her sister, Mary Helen Rivera; her grandson, Jacob Maldonado; and her Goddaughter, Anna Flores. She is survived by her husband, Joe Maldonado; her two sons, Eloy R. Maldonado and wife, Bonnie, and Jake J. Maldonado; her sister, Jean Chavez and husband, Tranqueilino; and by her three grandchildren, Felicia, Adan, and Kevin Maldonado. She will be missed by all.
