Jensen -- Billie Mae Jensen, 52, passed away June 16, 2002. A native New Mexican, she spent most of her life in Chama, New Mexico. She is survived by her husband, Mel Jensen; daughters, Jennifer Cordova and husband, Brian, Robin Prudencio and husband, Dominic; grandchildren, Kendra Cordova, Joshua Cordova, Colton Prudencio and Hadley Prudencio; brothers, Mike Hendrix and wife Patty, Dave C. Hendrix and wife, Jan, and Steven T. Hendrix and wife, Bobbie; sisters, Sue Peters and husband, Jim, Ginger Smith and husband, Wayne; mother, Johnnie Ruth Perdue and husband Byron; numerous other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Chama, New Mexico on Thursday, June 20, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Bob Britton officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Family Cemetery. Contreras -- Rufina Contreras, born April 28, 1920 in Kelley, NM, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was called by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into his kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, June 15, 2002. Rufina was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Refugio Contreras in 1998; her parents, Ramon and Telesfora Garcia; her two infant sisters, Sinforosa and Adela; her five brothers, Salvador; Filiberto; Andelesio; Justinano; and Jose Ignacio Garcia. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She was a proud mother of her eleven offspring and fifty-six grandchildren. Her love for her family was larger than life. People were drawn to her because of her unselfish love for all who she came in contact with. She was never a traveler nor visitor, yet everyone came to be around her. Rufina is survived by her eleven loving children, Baloy Contreras of Oakview, CA; Connie Boyd and her husband, Lou of Los Lunas; Rosemarie Cordova and her husband, Max of Belen; Naria Maes and her husband, Ralph of Valencia; Esperfia Mills of Belen; Wilfred Contreras of Contreras, NM; Maria Luz Contreras of Pueblitos; Ramona Liot and her husband Jim of Los Lunas; Juan Contreras and his wife, Diane of Belen; Reynaldo Ramon Contreras and his wife, Benita of Raton, NM; Patrick Contreras and his wife, Denise of Socorro. She is also survived by her thirty-three grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren; her one brother, Juan Garcia; and many loving nieces and nephews. All services will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at 5:30pm followed by a rosary at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at 10:00am followed with interment at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Mcallister -- Lorena McAllister, age 69, passed away on June 12, 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benedicto and Ofelia Otero, her husband, Gene and son, Eugene. She is survived by one son, Benny; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, David and wife, Lora, Louis and wife, Eleanor, and Benny Otero; six sisters, Mary Holler, Esther Otero, Susan Cordova, Anita Haduca, Amada Rodriquez, and Pauline Sedillo; many nieces, nephews. We will all miss her. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2002, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery. Atencio -- Gilbert O. Atencio, born February 4, 1931, passed away on June 9, 2002. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by wife, Virginia Atencio; daughter, Sandy Cordova and husband, Martin; sons, Randy and wife, Lydia, Gary and Mamie; eight grandchildren. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church on Tuesday, June 11, 2002. Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Pallbearers will be Martin Cordova, Andy Lopez, Manuel Chavez, Julian Montano, Joe Saiz and Orlando Marquez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Milton Jaramillo, Anna-Marie Atencio and Manuel Atencio. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Apodaca -- Damacio Apodaca Jr., 65, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on June 10, 2002. Mr. Apodaca is the beloved husband of 43 years to Mrs. Ernestine Apodaca. Mr. Apodaca is also survived by two daughters, Maria Chavez and husband, Lenard, Anna Casias and husband, Anthony; two sons, Joseph Apodaca and wife, Gina, Matthew Apodaca and wife, Lupita; four sisters, Vina Lopez, Piedad Chavez and husband, Tony, Elsie Sedillo, Carmen Apodaca and Beto; his father-in-law, Mike Giron; A special uncle, Alfredo Apodaca; a special cousin, Genaro Apodaca; a special nephew, Fred Apodaca; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Apodaca is preceded in death by his grandson, Pedro Lopez. Mr. Apodaca was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Tuesday evening after 6:30 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Manuel Viera. Alarid -- Mrs. Theresa E. Alarid, 75, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on May 19, 2002. Mrs.Alarid is the beloved wife of 54 years to Mr. Jack Alarid. Mrs. Alarid is also survived by two daughters, Annabel Arias, Vivian Cuadra and husband Pedro; one son, Nick Alarid and wife Elaine; three sisters, Emma Valdez, Ada Luna and husband Julian, Julia Cordova and husband Amos; two brothers, Joe Velasquez and wife Judy, Fred Velasquez and wife Susan; a sisters in law, Susie Velasquez and Mary Ann Velasquez; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Barelas Kids. Mrs. Alarid is preceded in death by her son, Arnie Arias, brothers, Lawrence, Nick, Robert, Edmund and Herman Velasquez. Mrs. Alarid was a member of the Catholic Church, American Legion Womens Auxillary Post #72, Daughters of the American Revolution, Vita Tax Program, Volunteer at the Veterans Hospital, a volunteer at the Barales Senior Center, North Valley Neighborhood Association and many other associations. In leiu of flowers the family requests that contributions-donations be made to the Theresa Alarid Memorial-Scholarship Fund for the Kids of Barelas at Wells Fargo Bank, North 4th St. A visitation for Mrs. Alarid will be Thursday evening from 6:30pm until 7:00pm in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm by Gabriella Nieto. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 10:30am until 11:00am at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred NW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00am by Father Jim Suntum S.F. Pallbearers will be, Arnie Arias Jr., Robby Arias, Scott Arias, Pedro Cuadra I I I, Adrian Cuadra, Jason Alarid and Ryan Alarid. Cremation to follow. Burial of cremains to take place at a later date. Larrañaga -- Aurelia Archibeque Larrañaga 88, a resident of Moriarty passed away peacefully at home Tuesday April 30, 2002 surrounded by her family. She was born June 4, 1913 in Palma, New Mexico to Jose G. Archibeque and Trinidad (Chavez) Archibeque. She married Leocadio Larrañaga on July 18, 1929, they were married for 50 years. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1979. Mom is survived by seven sons and six daughters. The daughters are, Josie Thomas and her husband, Albert, Viola Marez and her husband, Leandro, Reyes Perea and her husband, Jake, Mary Ellen Villanueva and her husband, Henry, Angie Lopez and her husband, Max, Trinnie Chilton and her husband,, Randy; her sons are, Bennie, Alfred and his wife, Corrine, Leo and his wife, Viola, Lorenzo and his wife, Charletta, Percy and his wife, Ann, Victor and his wife, Stella, Ernest Archibeque and his wife, Margarita. She is survived by a sister, Cecilia Cordova and two sister-in-laws, Pita Saiz and Julia Archibeque, and two half-sisters, Mary Sontoya and Virginia Cassidy, she is also survived by 37 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Mom raised other nieces and nephews during her lifetime, she was a life long resident of New Mexico where she was a partner with her husband on a ranch north of Encino for over sixty years. She was a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society. A Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic church Wednesday May 1, 2002---6:00 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated at the Red Hills Ranch Catholic Church Thursday May 2, 2002---11:00 a.m. with Father Richard Olona officiating. Pallbearers will be Phillip Larrañaga, Dominic Ortiz, Albert M. Thomas, Andy Larrañaga, Alan and Mark Larrañaga, Greg Marez, E.J. Perea, Ed Larrañaga, Neil Villanueva, Max Luis Lopez, Glenn Gibson and Brian Archibeque. Arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
