Alberts -- Dee Edward Alberts, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died Friday, April 26, 2002. Born September 3, 1925 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Ann (nee Diers); four sons, Edward of St. Louis, MO, Dennis (Nancy Reaves) of Chesterfield, MO, Mark (Sharon) of Colorado Springs, CO, Dean (Shari) of Smithton, IL; 11 grandchildren, Alisha (David) Jolly, Lucas, Jordan, Austin, Renee, Andrew, Amanda, Amber Dee, Megan, Allison, Ian; and one great-granddaughter, Serena Jolly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Denman Alberts and Madalynne Mae (nee Aldrich) Bilyeu; and his identical twin brother, Charles Lee Alberts. He was an avid golfer, belonged to the Paradise Hills Men�s Golfing Association; he was the president of his bowling league, and member of the Men�s International Bowling Congress. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army during the Korean War. Private memorial services were held Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at La Mesa Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment took place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with an Honor Guard presenting a United States Flag on Thursday, May 2, 2002. Barrack -- Evelyn Barrack, 81, was called to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday April 29, 2002, She was a longtime resident of Albuquerque. She was born in Trinidad, Colorado on August 5, 1920 to Oscar and Edna Banik. Evelyn was a beloved wife, mother and friend. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Jimel, Albuquerque, N.M.; son Jim Barrack, Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Connie Aden (Hal), Green Valley, AZ., Nancy Cangiolosi (Joe) Albuquerque, NM, Cynthia McGowan, Sacramento, CA, Jun Barrack Albuquerque NM and Darlene Black (Bud) of Idledale, CO; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nedra Mae Gray of Green Valley, AZ and Mary Martha Mason of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn's fondest memories were taking care of her grandchildren and serving at Glory. At Evelyn'�s request there will be Charismatic prayer meeting held Friday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m. and a Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. Brown -- Alfredo (Freddie) Brown. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002 at Mt. Taylor Mortuary Chapel in Grants, NM. Mr. Brown died April 30, 2002 in Phoenix, AZ. he was born December 4, 1940 at Winston, NM. Interment will be Monday, May 6, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Brown -- Earl Brown, 80, a resident of Belen, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, April 30, 2002. Earl was a decorated staff sergeant machine gunner in W.W.II landed in Normady and fought in the Battle of the Bulge across Europe and a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. Earl's family moved with him to Belen in 1952 and started working for the AT&SF. He retired after 36 years of dedicated service calling it the best job on earth, with the best friends ever. He was also a past president of Belen Lyons Club. Earl and his late wife, Judy were also long time business owners in Belen. Starting with Roy's Café in 1955 and for the past 43 years, they have owned the Mesa Motel Restaurant and Lounge. Earl's passion's were cattle ranching and flying his airplane. He started flying late in life and shared his joy with countless others. His philosophy for life was to pay our deeds forward and he hoped not to be a burden on anyone before his passing, which he wasn't. Preceding him in death was his beloved wife of 53 years, Judy in 1999. Earl is survived by his four children, Alene Williams and her husband, Jim of Jemez Springs, NM; Nancy Miller and her husband, Linton of Roswell, NM; Wesley James Brown and his wife, Julie of Farmington; and Marlyn Gaskin and her husband, Rick of Fort Worth, TX; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by a great number of admires and his loving family. Earl's family will be receiving family and friends on Saturday, May 4, 2002 at 12:30 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home Chapel with Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Floyd New Mexico Cemetery to be laid to rest with his beloved wife at a later date. Dickinson -- Donald D. Dickinson died Monday, April 29, 2002, at his home in Albuquerque. He was born in Spencer, OK on December 16, 1938. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his three sons, David, Darryl and Ken; his three sisters, Betty, Patti and Judy; his brother, James; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the US Air Force for 32 years, retiring as Chief Master Sergeant. He is a life member of VFW Post 401, MOC Pup Tent 7, and American Legion Post 72. A celebration of Don's life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the VFW Post Home, 2011 Girard SE.

Fernandez -- Roger J. Fernandez, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, died Sunday, April 28, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Julia Fernandez. He is survived by his sons, Roger P. Fernandez and fiancé, Patricia, Michael J. Fernandez and wife, Dorothy, all of Albuquerque and Frank E. Fernandez of Fresno, CA; daughters, Margaret DuBois and husband, David of Ridgecrest, CA and Patricia Bowden and husband, Carl of Waxahachie, TX; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Ebenezer Fernandez and Allan Gordon; and sisters, Irma Fernandez and Nancy Iribarren. Mr. Fernandez was a WWII Navy Veteran and he was active in the local Masonic Lodge #6. Services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at the Chester T. Folkers -- Duane G. Folkers, 1931- 2002. The good Lord giveth and He taketh away, and so He took our dear Duane on April 29, 2002. Duane was born on March 2, 1931 in Franklin, Nebraska and lived in Los Lunas since 1955. Duane served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and worked for Owen's Livestock for 25 years. He was an only child to George and Rosena Folkers who preceded him in death. Duane touched everyone's lives in Valencia County who knew him and he will be missed but never forgotten. At Duane's request, cremation has occurred at Riverside Funeral Home. His friends are invited to remember Duane and celebrate his life on Friday, May 10, 2002, 6:00 p.m. at the Southwest Livestock Auction Barn west of Los Lunas on Highway 6. Frank -- Eleanor Taylor Frank, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1924, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Austin C. Frank; daughter, Janet F. Olsen and husband, Charles of Tustin, CA; son, Lawrence L. Frank and wife, Cynthia of Albuquerque; and three grandchildren, Annalise Olsen, Christina Frank and Austin Robert Frank. Eleanor was a 1931 graduate of the University of New Mexico and was employed as a bacteriologist at the State Public Health Laboratory from 1931-1945. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. Gerry -- James Gerry, 38, of Albuquerque and formerly of Westbrook, Maine, died Monday, April 29, 2002 after heroically battling a long illness. Born in Portland, Maine on April 13, 1964, James grew up in Westbrook and attend local schools, he then graduated from Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He has been in Albuquerque the last eight years where he had worked in the health field as an advocate for the disabled. James enjoyed traveling, sports, music and concerts. He was always helping those less fortunate and belonged to many organizations including several animal charities. He will be very sadly missed by his loving mother, Joanne; brother, Robert; and sister, Lynn; other family members and friends. Kameyer -- Sylvan"Joe" Kameyer, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 28, 2002. He was born Tuesday, February 19, 1918 in Galveston, TX. Sylvan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Katherine; son, Darren and wife, Lila (Anne) of Rockwall, TX; daughter, Karen Weaver and husband, Terry, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Kimberly and Kourtney Weaver. Mr. Kameyer served in the Navy for 20 years and retired as Chief Petty Officer in 1958. He was employed by ACF Industries and later worked at Dover Elevator Co. for ten years retiring in 1983. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 3, 2002, 12:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. Cremation has taken place. Komadina -- Frances Komadina, R.N., who passed away on May 1, 2002, was born in the coal-mining town of Dawson, N.M.; she was the daughter of Florian Komodina and Julianna Jakovac Komadina Grubesic. Frances attended school in Dawson and upon graduation she entered The Colorado Fuel and Iron Company Nursing School in Pueblo, Colorado. Today it is known as the St. Mary Corwin. In 1937, after she graduated and received her Registered Nurse (R.N.) pin she worked as a Federal Employee in the U.S. Indian Service Hospitals in Ignacio, Shiprock, and in the U.S. Indian School Hospital in Albuquerque. During the World War II years she pursued her nursing career as the Head Nurse of the Pediatric Clinic at, Sandia Base in Albuquerque. She was especially proud of her"Volunteers" who helped out at the clinic. Frances was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Croatian Fraternal Union and the National Association of Federal Employees. She was a world traveler and was always eager and ready to see the world first hand. Francis is survived by her two sisters, Mary Komadina Cullender, Ann Komadina; one brother, Albert Grubesic and wife, Betty; four nieces, Mary Lou Archuleta and husband, Dr. Manuel Archuleta, Julie Weaks Gutierrez and husband, Alberto, Christina Barnett and husband, Robert, Trisha Arrighetti and husband Dr. Wesley Arrighetti; two nephews, Senator Steven Komadina M.D. and wife, Penny. Trujillo -- Talpita"Pita" Trujillo, 80, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, May 2, 2002. Valdez -- Jose M. Valdez was born in Denver, Colorado October 9, 1941. He passed away April 30, 2002 after having Cancer. He was retired from the US. Marine Corps, and moved to Raton, NM. in 1987, where he lived for 13 years. He was a contractor and had a lawn and tree service. Jose later moved to Rio Rancho to battle cancer for the last two years of his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Canuta Ladesma; father, Ernest Valdez; brother, Ernest Valdez Jr.; sister, Dorothy Garcia; and son, Jerry Valdez. Jose is survived by his wife, Lois I. Vidotto -- Louis Vidotto, 75, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1976, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2002. Louis was born January 20, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York. Louis spent over 24 years working as an Iron Worker for Ornamental and Architectural Applications. He was the owner of the West Mesa Color Television Store in Rio Rancho from 1984-1986. From 1986 through 1991, he lived and worked in the Tahoe, NV area before returning to New Mexico. He was very involved in church ministries in his churches back in New York such as Pioneer Girls, Christian Service Brigade and Bus Ministries. He was a member of the New York Club in Rio Rancho. Louis is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Ruth of the family home in Rio Rancho; his eight children, Miriam Ruth Lee and husband, Rev. Vigil -- Adelina Gonzales Vigil, 50, of Bosque Farms died on Saturday, April 27, 2002 as the result of a ranching accident. She was doing what she loved to do which was riding horseback. Adelina was born in Tucumcari on July 28, 1951 to Mary Casados Gonzales and Manuel Gonzales. She was raised on the family ranch in Bueyeros, NM which she considered God's Country. She attended school at the Bueyeros School, then transferred to Clayton Schools where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Albino Vigil. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1969. She attended nursing school in Amarillo, TX and worked for the NW Texas Hospital. She then moved to Los Lunas, NM and began work with Lovelace Medical Center where she worked for 26 years. She also worked for Presbyterian Urgent Care. 14 months ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and began the long process of fighting the dreaded disease. On April 18, 2002 she was informed that her fight was successful and the cancer was in remission. Adelina was a faithful and active parishioner who was involved in numerous parish organizations and activities. As a devout Catholic she made Cursillo No. 163 and a special pilgrimage to the shrine of the"Virgen de Guadalupe" in Mexico City whom Adelina so deeply loved and honored. In addition, she was a member of the American Legion Post 99 Auxiliary in honor of her father who was a World War II Veteran. Adelina will always be remembered by her family, friends, and co-workers as an extremely compassionate and caring person whose main objective was always to help and comfort others in any way possible. Whether providing medical advice or care; cooking a hot meal for family, friends and half of Valencia County; or offering a"Cold Dr. Pepper" to a thirsty acquaintance, she was prone to extend a helping hand, putting her needs behind those of others. Her contagious laugh and generosity will be greatly missed. Her father, Manuel Gonzales; uncle, Amarante Casados; and in-laws, Nestor and Amelia Vigil, preceded her in death. Survivors include husband of 35 years, Albino; three sons, Dion and wife, Lorena of Albuquerque, Derrick and wife, Myrna of Albuquerque and Dominic of Albuquerque; two granddaughters, La Rae Vigil and Aitanna Vigil; and grandson, Andres Vigil; her mother, Mary C. Gonzales of Bueyeros; two sisters, Rita of San Franciso, CA and Rebecca and husband, Adelmo Archuleta of Albuquerque; also many loving nieces, nephews, and friends; and by her very special friend, Fr. Jose Hernandez of Tome, NM. A Rosary has been set for Thursday, May 2, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church. A second Rosary will be held in Bueyeros on Friday, May 3, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2002 at the Sacred Heart Church with burial at the family cemetery on the Rancho Gonzales.
