DAUNER -- ROBERT K. Bob was born in Davenport, Iowa on August 15, 1927. He was the son of the late Ursula and Clarence Dauner. They lived there until he was five when his family moved to Springfield, Illinois. After graduating from Springfield High School, he joined the Navy and served during World War II. After the war, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bradley University. He moved to Albuquerque in the nineteen fifties where he was a photographer for the University of New Mexico for nine years. He later became a photo archivist for the Albuquerque Museum where he oversaw the organization and cataloging of over forty thousand images. He was coeditor and coauthor of several books and articles dealing with the early history of Albuquerque. A generous individual, he was honored by the New Mexico state legislature for outstanding community service. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Gross of Rainbow City, AL.; nephews, John Gross (Shari) of Springfield, IL., and Steve Gross (Kathy) of Gadsden AL.; as well as many great-nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank Pastor Bruno Alfieri of Legacy Church for leading Bob to our Lord, Jesus Christ, as well as Susan and Larry Elliott for all of the care, kindness and help provided to Bob and his family.

LOPEZ -- EPPIE ESQUIBEL Age, 94, passed away on October 3, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on February 27, 1917 in Parkview, NM. She is the daughter of Manuel and Rafaelita Esquibel, wife of Dr. Alfred L. Lopez and mother of Dr. Leonard Lopez, all who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Ted Esquibel and Eloy Esquibel; her sisters, Francis Sisneros and Helen Braxton; and daughter-in-law, Jamie B. Menees. She is survived by her children, Dr. Alfred L. Lopez, Jr. and wife Diane, Dr. Vic Lopez and Melinda Lopez Langdon and husband Bob Langdon and Peggy and Tim Wheeler. She has fourteen grandchildren, Alfred, Stacy, Chris, Sarah, Olivia, Martha, Richard, Lesley, Jennifer, Kristy, Lenny, Andrew, Jackie, and Alex and fourteen great-grandchildren with one on the way. Eppie is survived by Dr. Ray Esquibel and wife, Donna, and Cordelia Weisman and also by special friends Susie Lopez, Jan and Larry Jones, Laureen Carroll and Rosie Rivera. She lived a very happy and fulfilling life. She was a kind, generous and loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife. She graduated Valedictorian of her class in Santa Fe where she was the star shooting guard for the basketball team. She worked for the US government censorship office during WWII while her husband Alfred served under General Patton as dental officer. They returned to Albuquerque after the war was over, where they set up his dental practice in the Albuquerque First National Bank Building before building their office at Medical Arts Square. She served as President of The New Mexico State Dental Auxiliary. She was voted one of the best dressed women in Albuquerque for three consecutive years. Her children teased her unmercifully about this. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011 at French Lomas Chapel. Private interment will take place at a later date for family members. She is survived by daughter, Sharon Suazo Lincoln and husband, Elmer J. of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Joan Suazo Yazzie of Albuquerque, NM; son, Larry Suazo of Lawton, OK; daughter, Rita Cachora and husband, Oscar of Albuquerque, NM; son, Michael L. Suazo of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Marge Lynette Lodge Pole and husband, William of Rocky Boy, MT; son, Norman T. Suazo and wife, Aleta "Tweety" of Rio Rancho, NM; son, Dale E. Suazo and wife, Rita of Casa Blanca, NM; daughter, Avery Suazo of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Brenda Zamarron and husband, Heriberto of Albuquerque, NM; and 84 direct descendents. Mrs. Suazo was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Jerry C. Suazo and daughter, Doris Kestner. She was a member of All Nations Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday School. Lucy was a mentor and nurtured not only her children, but also her extended family and friends. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel, with Rev. William Fragua officiating. Interment will follow at Mount of Peace Cemetery in McCartys, NM. Pallbearers will be Corey Lodge Pole, James Vargas, Carlos Lucero, Danny Calderon, Travis Suazo, Aldo J. BLACK -- DR. NANCY LEE nee HIRSCH Was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Sterling Black. She is survived by her children, Jason Bloomberg and wife Valerie Bloomberg, Leda Black and husband Rolf Pendall, Stephen Black and Diana Black Kennedy and husband Derek Kennedy; her step-children, Sterling Black Jr., Anne Black Nash and husband Richard Nash, John Black and Jim Black. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Justin, Siena and Griffin; two step-grandchildren, Joshua and Julian. Dr. Black was born in New York in 1936. She received her MA from Columbia University, where met her first husband, Larry Bloomberg. She received her Ph.D. in psychology from Adelphi University, where she studied with renowned therapists and originators of the Gestalt therapy technique, Fritz and Laura Perls. She moved Albuquerque, New Mexico where she raised her first two children and practiced psychotherapy. After her divorce, she moved to Los Alamos and became engaged in local politics, where she met her second husband, Los Alamos Senator, Sterling Black. In 1968, she and Sterling were delegates for Eugene McCarthy at the 1968 Democratic Convention. They moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1969, where she raised her children and her stepchildren and, in 1970, added twins Stephen and Diana to the mix. She was a dedicated mother, a highly competent homemaker and a fabulous cook. She continued to practice psychotherapy part time until 1988, when she went back to work full time. She specialized in treating families of abuse, and trained therapists and social workers around the world. She retired shortly after her husband's death. After surviving a stroke, she lived for ten years in assisted living, where she was in charge of the menu planning and the training of the kitchen staff. She moved out to California to be near her youngest daughter in 2009. While in California, she enjoyed watching the fog roll in and out from her hill top nursing home. She will be missed. The service will be held at Fernwood Funeral Home in Mill Valley, California on October 1st at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to Hospice By The Bay, 17 E. RIVERA -- EUTIMIO was born January 6, 1913 and passed away on September 25, 2011. He was a resident of Albuquerque NM since 1949. Mr. Rivera is survived by his three children, Joe Rivera and wife, Helen from Tucson AZ, Gloria Turner and husband, Leon T., and Lucille Quintana and husband, Reydecel; sister Pita Rivera; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Cipriana Rivera; sons, John, John G. and Placido Rivera; Grandson, Phillip Rivera; great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Tortalita; brothers and sister; Carlos Rivera, Francisco Ribera, Placido Ribera, Militon Ribera, and Maria Varela. Mr. Rivera was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He worked most of his life doing what he loved most, which was, construction, and ranching. He enjoyed being outdoors to tend to his garden during the summer months, raising cattle, bailing alfalfa, and spending time with his dear friend "Larry Brown" on his ranch, in Penasco NM. When at home, he enjoyed visiting with family members, and valued time with his family and friends. He was a very respectful and noble man, who was very well known for his kindness, and loyalty, and very easily made friends everywhere he went. With the help of his grandchildren; Edwina Quintana & husband, Pedro Eduardo Martinez, Felisha Quintana, Veronica Quintana, Reyna Quintana, James Rivera, and Pauline Martine, he was given the opportunity that granted fulfillment of his final wishes that allowed him to pass peacefully, in his own home, surrounded by the people he loved most. Visitation will be Friday, September 30 2011, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Herman Flores. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at St. Edwin's Church, 2501 Barcelona RD SW , at 10:00 a.m., Father Bill Sanchez, presider. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos Rivera, James Rivera, Daniel P. Rivera, Antonio Martinez, Milton Rivera, and Larry Brown.
