ADAMS -- DONALD LOCKWOOD passed away October 6, 2011 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife Marjorie, his high school sweetheart; four children; and eight grandchildren. Donald was born and raised in Westchester County, New York. His ancestors include Col. Elias Dayton of New Jersey, who was one of the members of George Washington's staff, and Henry Howland, brother of John Howland of the Mayflower Compact in Massachusetts. Donald held an MBA degree from New York University and taught for over eighteen years at local colleges and universities. He ran a family construction business in New York City and was a Customer Relation Specialist for Charlbet's, Inc. in Hyannis, Massachusetts from 1974 to 1982. A member of Gideons International since 1973 and St. Francis Episcopal Church, Donald was preceded by his parents, two sisters and a brother. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged as Lieutenant in the Artillery. Dad (Donald) was much loved and we will miss him very much. ASHMAN -- ELIZABETH (BETTY) Age 82, passed away on October 2, 2011. Betty served as a nurse during WWII in England, and after moving to the States to marry Bob, continued her career in Albuquerque as a pediatric nurse. Betty is survived by son Rob, his wife Nancy, their children, Kelly and Stephen Smith, Valerie and David Gorm, and great-granddaughter, Addison. She is also survived by son Mark, his wife Amy, their children Leigh Ashman, Peter and Miranda Ashman. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Glory Christian Fellowship, 2417 Wyoming Blvd NE. CARMIGNANI -- ROBERT LEE Age 58, passed away at his home on Monday evening, October 3rd. Bob was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on December 11, 1952, and has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1957. He graduated from Manzano High School in 1970, where he held the position of quarterback for the MHS football team, Honorable Mention All-American Quarterback. Bob graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1975, and then completed his technical training in California. He owned, and ran, two successful dental laboratories in Albuquerque between 1978, and 2011. Bob is survived by his mother, Joyce Morello, of Albuquerque; his brother, Lawrence T. Carmignani, of Seattle, Washington; two daughters, Christen Pike and Lawren Carmignani, both of Albuquerque; Christen's husband, John Pike; their two sons, Jackson and Parker; and numerous extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Carmignani, D.D.S. Bob was an athlete, a connoisseur of art, classical music, history, and a member of the Alamo Society. He was a devoted son, father, brother, and grandfather, and he is dearly loved. Please join our family for a celebration of Bob's life on Saturday, October 8th, between 2:00pm and 6:00pm at the home of John and Christen Pike: 6619 Mossman Pl. COLEMAN -- ROBERT GABRIEL Surrounded by family and friends, Gabe Coleman went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2011. He enriched our lives and brought so much joy and laughter to us all. He was large in stature and large in love of life and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Alicia Coleman. He was the source of wisdom, strength, and guidance to his son, Shane Coleman. Gabe was a blessing to his beloved parents, Bob and Vivian Coleman. His unique and often inappropriate sense of humor will be greatly missed by his sister, Rebecca and her husband, Johnny Luevano and their children, Ariah, (godson) Santiago, and Viviana. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Lydia Gonzales and Dolores Coleman; uncles, Leonard Gonzales and Joe Coleman; aunts, Mary Ellen Gonzales and Sharon Coleman. Also in-laws, Abel and Dolores Montoya. Gabe was a loving and devoted uncle to Vanessa, Teneil, Matthew, Christian, Jonathan, Josiah, Desiree, Joseph, Jordan, Stevie, Elijah,(Godson) Jonah, Sierra, Angelia, Avianna, Tyler, and Mason. Gabe will be truly missed by numerous cousins, family and friends. Gabe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Emma Gonzales; grandfather, Robert Coleman Sr.; and uncle, Herman Gonzales. EATON -- FRANK D. DR. Age 69, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 2, 2011. He was born on May 8, 1942 to Aaron Clarkson Eaton and Eleanor (Davies) Eaton in Cambridge, NY. Dr. Eaton grew up in Bennington, VT. He was accepted at the age of 16 into The Juilliard School for his musical accomplishments. His educational achievements are vast, including degrees from the University of Arizona and a Doctorate in Biometeorolgy from Utah State University. He was an accomplished scientist and had over 300 publications in his name. He recently retired from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratories as a Senior Research Physicist. Dr. Eaton was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and loved to help them complete their science fair projects and learn to play musical instruments. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending state fairs. Though not a gambler, he did like to go to casino buffets. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Virginia (Gamble) Eaton of Rio Rancho, NM; children, Kimberly (Camron) Brawley of Albuquerque, NM, Leslie (Kevin) Brady of McKinney, TX, Brian (Kelly) Eaton of Rio Rancho, NM, Brett (Melissa) Eaton of Albuquerque, NM, Michelle (fiancee, Jeremy Chavez) Eaton of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Preston Brawley, Gwendolyn Brawley, Arthur Brawley, Laiken Brady, Brylee Chavez, and Gavin Eaton; sister, Mary Roberta Watilo; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents A. Clarkson and Eleanor Eaton. Bernard died September 29, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born December 23, 1960 in Crownpoint, NM. Survivors include his mother, Kathryn K. Howard of Paguate; brother, L. KOOGLER -- ELISE VOGEL A longtime resident of New Mexico, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at the age of 91. She was born in El Vado, NM. Elise is survived by husband of 63 years, Clare Clement Koogler; sons, John C. of Brookeland, TX and William C. of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Elyse Ann Cullum of Parks, AZ; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Elise graduated from UNM and had her BA and Masters in Education and retired after teaching elementary education for 30 years in the NM Public Schools. LOPEZ -- EPPIE ESQUIBEL Age, 94, passed away on October 3, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on February 27, 1917 in Parkview, NM. She is the daughter of Manuel and Rafaelita Esquibel, wife of Dr. Alfred L. Lopez and mother of Dr. Leonard Lopez, all who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Ted Esquibel and Eloy Esquibel; her sisters, Francis Sisneros and Helen Braxton; and daughter-in-law, Jamie B. Menees. She is survived by her children, Dr. Alfred L. Lopez, Jr. and wife Diane, Dr. Vic Lopez and Melinda Lopez Langdon and husband Bob Langdon and Peggy and Tim Wheeler. She has fourteen grandchildren, Alfred, Stacy, Chris, Sarah, Olivia, Martha, Richard, Lesley, Jennifer, Kristy, Lenny, Andrew, Jackie, and Alex and fourteen great-grandchildren with one on the way. Eppie is survived by Dr. Ray Esquibel and wife, Donna, and Cordelia Weisman and also by special friends Susie Lopez, Jan and Larry Jones, Laureen Carroll and Rosie Rivera. She lived a very happy and fulfilling life. She was a kind, generous and loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife. She graduated Valedictorian of her class in Santa Fe where she was the star shooting guard for the basketball team. She worked for the US government censorship office during WWII while her husband Alfred served under General Patton as dental officer. They returned to Albuquerque after the war was over, where they set up his dental practice in the Albuquerque First National Bank Building before building their office at Medical Arts Square. She served as President of The New Mexico State Dental Auxiliary. She was voted one of the best dressed women in Albuquerque for three consecutive years. Her children teased her unmercifully about this. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011 at French Lomas Chapel. Private interment will take place at a later date for family members. MARTINEZ -- ROBERT ALEXANDER Passed away peacefully in his sleep in Albuquerque on Monday, October 3, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was born on the family farm in San Luis, Colorado and would have been 93 on October 12th. He was a descendent not only of one of the earliest families that settled New Mexico, but also one of the eighteen Spanish-American families that founded the state of Colorado. During World War II, he honorably served on the front lines for 3 1/2 years with the 91st Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron as a Sergeant in four invasions: North Africa, Sicily, Salerno and Anzio. Mr. Martinez retired from the Air Force and Department of Defense where he was a civilian defense communications manager at the Pentagon and Systems Command at Andrews Air Force Base. His wife, Stella Beatrice Martinez, and two children, Donna and Glen, predeceased him. He is survived by five children, Irene (Dorian) Reines, Martha (James) Young, Robert (Yvette) Martinez Jr., Nazarena Nina Martinez and husband Tony Burger, Stella Martinez and husband Mark Roesner; seven grandchildren, Yvonne, Lori, Seth, Alex, Zechariah, Robert and Samuel Glen; four great-grandchildren, Stephen, Taylor, Tristan and Elizabeth; as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Funeral Service will be held at the Veterans National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. on Monday, October 10th, 2011 at 10:15 am with full US Air Force Honors. An Honor Guard from the American Legion Duran y Gallegos Post 69, where Mr. Martinez was a member, will preside. MCDONALD -- MARY ELIZABETH Died September 13, 2011 at age 94, after a full life. Born in McAlester, Oklahoma, she worked as a young woman in Oklahoma government and then in the federal government and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. before coming to Albuquerque in 1947 with her husband, G. Corry McDonald. She earned her BA and MA from UNM, was an accomplished craftswoman who was active in the American Crafts Council, a teacher, an appraiser, and businesswoman. She opened Gallery One at Nob Hill and operated it for many years before selling it. Her husband Corry passed away in 1995. She is survived by Douglas McDonald of Lexington, Massachusetts, Bruce McDonald and Jnanideva Shanmuga, both of Albuquerque, and four grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 11:00 at the Alumni Memorial Chapel on the UNM Campus, located 150 ft. east of Maxwell Museum.

SMITH -- ALAN L. 1930-2011 Age 81, a resident of Belen, passed away on October 5,2011. He was a Locomotive Engineer with the Santa Fe Railroad for 33 years. Alan was born to Mable and John Smith in Santa Rita, NM, grew up in Amarillo, TX where he graduated high school, and attended college in both Amarillo and Lubbock, TX. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bosque Farms. Alan was a private pilot, and he loved animals and children. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Alan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Smith; daughter, Debbie Hamey and husband Roy of Liberal, KS; daughter, Sheila Kilgore and husband Ken of Liberal, KS; two grandchildren, Kenny Kilgore and wife Kacie, and Josh Haney; one great-grandson, Luke Alan Kilgore; brother John W. Smith of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel with Pastor Sid West officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. STRICKLAND -- MILTON H. Went into the arms of the Lord on October 4, 2011 at the age of 71. He was a gregarious, charismatic man who loved his family immensely. He was kind, generous and forgiving; lived life his way, and is loved by all those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Suanne; daughter, Misty and husband, Ted; son, Christopher and wife, Wendy; daughter, KC and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Christina and husband, Justin, Daniel, Alexandra, Julia and Draven; great-grandchildren, Nikolaas and Nevaeh. WEINSTEIN -- BERNARD Sunrise: Feb. 17, 1931-Brooklyn, NY Sunset: Sept. 30, 2011-Albuq., NM Bernard Weinstein made an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, loyalty, integrity, intelligence, candidness, self confidence and most of all, his individuality and spirit of generosity. Family members who will honor his life with great affection are: his wife, Diana Abella of Albuquerque; daughter, Nora Mullen (Kevin) of Huntington Beach, CA; daughter, Lela Nordquist and grandchildren, Jan and Pia of Gavle, Sweden; stepson, John Bodnar and children, Kira, Kayla, and Topher of Arvada, CO; and stepdaughter, Heather Abella and children Isaac, Abella and Luke of Albuquerque, NM. Bernie served in the United States Army at the end of the Korean War. He pursued his education earning a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BME) from the City College of New York and a Masters of Science and Mechanical Engineering ( MS & ME) Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Bernie enjoyed a long and beneficial career with a number of well-known companies. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1993 and completed his professional life at the New Mexico Department of Transportation in 2010. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 in Los Alamos. All who knew and loved Bernie are encouraged to attend and share food, laughter and fond memories.
