DAUNER -- ROBERT K. Bob was born in Davenport, Iowa on August 15, 1927. He was the son of the late Ursula and Clarence Dauner. They lived there until he was five when his family moved to Springfield, Illinois. After graduating from Springfield High School, he joined the Navy and served during World War II. After the war, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bradley University. He moved to Albuquerque in the nineteen fifties where he was a photographer for the University of New Mexico for nine years. He later became a photo archivist for the Albuquerque Museum where he oversaw the organization and cataloging of over forty thousand images. He was coeditor and coauthor of several books and articles dealing with the early history of Albuquerque. A generous individual, he was honored by the New Mexico state legislature for outstanding community service. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Gross of Rainbow City, AL.; nephews, John Gross (Shari) of Springfield, IL., and Steve Gross (Kathy) of Gadsden AL.; as well as many great-nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank Pastor Bruno Alfieri of Legacy Church for leading Bob to our Lord, Jesus Christ, as well as Susan and Larry Elliott for all of the care, kindness and help provided to Bob and his family.
