ARCHULETA -- HENRY LEE JR. After years of struggle, found peace on September 29, 2011. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maxine and Manuel Tafoya, Mercy Archuleta and Abenicio and Sophie Chavez. He is survived by his parents, Henry Archuleta and Maxine Archuleta; son, Antonio "Tony" Archuleta; brother Jacob Archuleta of Cuba, New Mexico; three sisters, Donna Volden and husband John of Aurora, Colorado, Denise Manchego and husband Ted of Mesa, Arizona and Sara Archuleta of Cuba, New Mexico. ASHBY -- ROBERT NEWTON Age 76, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, October 2, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Ashby; son, John C. Ashby and wife Alisa; brother, John A. Ashby and wife Diana; nephew, John P. Ashby and wife, Nichole; and grandnephew, Christopher Ashby. Dr. Ashby was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Jonnie Fay Ashby; and brother, Todd Clark. Dr. Ashby was a fellow of the American College of Radiology, and he practiced at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI where he was Chief of Staff from 1984-1988. He also practiced at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Cremation has taken place and no services are being held. COMPSON -- DALE FITLER Age 60, beloved and wonderful mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 2, 2011. She was born on September 17, 1951 to the late Dale and Louise Fitler, in Bryn Mawr, PA. Dale is survived by her loving daughters, Rachel Compson of Albuquerque, NM, Alexandra Compson of Paoli, PA; sister, Rachel Megargee of Albuquerque, NM; nephews, Daniel, Christopher and Michael Girlamo. Ms. Compson was originally from the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania, she loved trips to the seashore, classical music, and gardening. She was an avid reader, quilter, and needle-worker. She lives on in our hearts and minds forever. No services are planned at this time.

FULLILOVE -- SHARON (ERICKSON) Surrounded by family and friends, Sharon Fullilove, age 30, gave her final thumbs up on September 30, 2011. Sharon had recently come to call New Mexico home after moving to Albuquerque to take a job as the morning reporter for KOB Eyewitness News 4. Everyone lucky enough to meet or know Sharon would tell you of her infectious smile, laughter, and warmth. She lit up the room the moment she entered and had a way of making everyone around her feel special. Those lucky enough to have been able to call Sharon daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece or friend were so enormously blessed to have had such a wonderful woman in their lives. There are no words to describe the pain of losing her so young, but we can hope to learn from the way she lived her own life. Live your life with joy, smile from ear to ear, and give two thumbs up whenever possible. Sharon is survived by her father, Richard Fullilove; her mother and step-father, Michaela and Gary Shafer; her sisters, Brittany Shafer and Chantel Fullilove; her brothers, Gary Shafer, Jr. and Jake Fullilove; and her grandparents, Roy and Nan Fullilove. GODLEWSKI -- EDWARD J. Age 88, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 29, 2011. He is survived by his daughters, Terri Kroemer and husband, Rich of Waukee, IA and Kashia Godlewski and husband, Tom McGinnis of Denver, CO; son, Tommy Godlewski and wife, Angela of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Kelli Harrison and husband, Adam of Edgewood; great-grandsons, Keith, Vince, and Corey Harrison; nieces, Kathy, Cynthia, Karen, Sharon and their families of Syracuse, NY; and loving companion, Dina Bisio of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Katarzyna (Lesinski) Godlewski; sister, Stella; and brothers, Joe and Myron. Edward served his country for over 24 years in the United States Air Force and took part during the Korean Conflict and World War II. His hobbies included ceramics and candle making. He was also an avid Lady Lobos Basketball fan. He was a longtime parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 6 , 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the church. KROPSCHOT -- HENRY Age 84, died peacefully September 30, 2011. He is survived by his wife Claire of 61 year; daughters Susan Kropschot of Santa Fe and Anne Weitz (Tom) of Priest Lake, Idaho; and grandchildren Sarah Shoquist (Trason), and Adam Weitz. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Henry and Della (Burdorf) Kropschot, he graduated from Litchfield High School, Michigan, before joining the U.S. Navy and serving aboard the USS Enterprise CV-6 during World War II. After the war, he returned to earn his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in physics and mathematics from Michigan State University. He moved to Santa Fe in 1989 when he accepted the position of Laboratory Liaison Officer from the Office of the President of the University of California to the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Prior to that he held positions as the Associate Laboratory Director for Energy Sciences at the University of California Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory; Director of the Office of Basic Energy Sciences at the U. S. Department of Energy; and Director of the Cryogenics Division of the National Bureau of Standards, U.S. Department of Commerce in Boulder, Colorado. He was Professor Adjunct in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Colorado; taught at the University of California at Los Angeles; and was Guest Professor at the E.T.H. in Zurich Switzerland. He was a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the recipient of the U.S. Department of Commerce Gold Medal. He published more than 60 papers in cryogenic engineering and low temperature physics and served as editor of the Review of Scientific Instruments and Cryogenics. In retirement, he was active with the Don Quixotes and the Employer Support Of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Richard H. LUCERO -- ROBERT O. Age 68, a resident of Bernalillo and San Luis, NM passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011. He is survived by his mother Fidela Lucero, Bernalillo; son, Bobby Joe Lucero, Albuquerque; daughter, Patricia Lucero, Las Vegas, Nevada; and their mother Maggie Lucero, Albuquerque. Five sisters, Julia Garcia, Albuquerque, Helen Lucero, Rio Rancho, Virginia Garcia and husband Frank, Bernalillo, Dolores Montoya, Bernalillo and Elizabeth Dominguez, Bernalillo. One brother, Max Dominguez and wife Norma, Henderson, Nevada. Four grandchildren, Amanda, David, Evnie and Erica. One great-grandchild, Michael, and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Seferino Lucero; brother, Lawrence Lucero; beloved aunt, Priscilla Montoya; grandmother, Esmerenciana Montoya; nephews, David Garcia and Richard Lucero. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend, and will be dearly missed by all. Robert is a Vietnam Veteran, honorably served in the United States Army. A Memorial Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, 9:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 am. ROBINSON -- JOHNYE "FERN" (SPENCER) Age 82, a resident of Albuquerque for 60 years, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years and 11 months, James F. "Jim" Robinson; daughters Sharon K. St. John and husband, Ray of Rio Rancho, Karen S. Leftige and husband, Ron of Temecula, CA; grandchildren Renee Capenos and husband, Stephen of Albuquerque, Ray St. John II "R.J." and wife, Amber of Rio Rancho, Jason, Kirstin and Jerod Leftige of Orange County, CA; great-grandchildren Briseis and Ray St. John III "Tray" and Stephen "Michael" Capenos II; sisters Frances McLaughlin and husband, Dick of Truth of Consequences and Betty Hulen of Barstow, CA and many nieces and nephews. Fern was preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Dee C. Spencer; sister Mamie Jo Shough and niece, Ginger Burson. Mrs. Robinson was born on December 4, 1928 in Mountainair, NM. She worked for Sandia National Laboratories for 33 years. She was the Receptionist for Supplier Relations the last 20 years of service and said it was the best job at Sandia Labs. Fern took college courses after work and was the top of her class. She loved her time at Sandia Labs. Mrs. Robinson retired early in 1985 so she could pick her grandson, "R.J." from kindergarten. She was an active Divan Lady for many years, being the First Lady of the New Mexico Shrine in 1999. Fern was a member of Yucca Temple #74 Daughters of the Nile for 26 years. She really believed in what the Shriners and Daughters of the Nile stood for, "Helping Children." A service will be held, Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., at the Ballut Abyad Shrine Center, 6600 Zuni SE with Richard G. Spencer, her cousin, officiating. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE. Pallbearers will be Ray St. John, Ron Leftige, Ray St. John II "R.J.", Jerod Leftige, Stephen Capenos and Dick McLaughlin. SALAS -- ELSIRA J. Age 80, loving mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, neighbor, tia and friend passed away Saturday, at home on October 1, 2011. She was born February 28, 1931 in Guadalupe, NM to Leopoldo and Amada Jaramillo. She married Urbano Salas on November 25, 1950 in Cuba NM. They were married for 54 years. Mrs. Salas was a member of San Jose Catholic Church in Albuquerque for 58 years. She and her husband helped run the hamburger stand at the Church Fiestas. Elsie was a very social person and had many friends and family, whom she kept in touch with throughout the years. She babysat all of her eight grandchildren as well as many neighborhood children. Mrs. Salas was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Urbano Salas; son, Russel James Salas; three brothers; six sisters; and Chanel Broomfield, whom she loved like a grandchild. She is survived by her son, Adam Salas and wife Patsy; four daughters, Dolores Flores and husband Frank, Martha Chavez and husband Manuel, Cecilia Chavez and husband Steve, and Monica Salas-Pierson and husband Robert; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly. A Visitation will take place at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SE, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm; Mass of Christian Burial will also be celebrated at San Jose Catholic Church on Wednesday October 5, 2011 at 10:00 am.; Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
