MAESTAS -- Ivan E. Maestas was born April 6, 1929 in Cuba, New Mexico. He passed away Monday, January 25, 2010, surrounded by his loved ones. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Franciscita Maestas; his wife, Mary Maestas; son, Joseph Maestas and sister, Niomi Dimas. He is survived by his four children, Rudy Maestas and wife Laurie, Myrlin Maestas, Leonard Maestas and wife Irene, LaVern Padilla and husband Carlos; two brothers, Alfonso Maestas, Tony Maestas and wife Rachael; five sisters, Ernestin Benavidez, Mary Jane Sanchez, Genera Jaramillo and husband Moises, Eremita Chavez, Rose Martinez and husband Pres; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. The family would like to thank Heritage Home Care and Hospice and their staff, Nurse Larry Cawthon and workers, Melvin, Ann, Vickie and Chaplain Gary. Thank you to David Gallegos of Meals on Wheels, Deacon Jimmy Delgado and Martin Marquez. A special thank you, as well, to Rose and Pres Martinez for always being there for us. Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 4th and Mildred NW. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. SISNEROS -- Thomas "Tommy" Sisneros, age 44, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010. He is survived by his children, Amanda and Justin; brothers, Arthur, Joe, David, Jimmy, Vivian and Jimmy Jr.; sisters, Ina Ramirez, Dolores Garrison, Rita Ramirez, Margie Galarce, Maria Paula Gallegos and Celina Martinez; as well as many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends who loved and will miss him. TAPIA -- Juanita Eloisa Tapia, 94, of Albuquerque, New Mexico went to meet our Lord on Friday evening at Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by members of her loving family. She was born at El Porvenir, New Mexico in 1915. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Felipe Tapia, Jr.; her mother and father, Carolina and Tomas Gallegos of Las Vegas; sister, Helen Garner and husband, Mike of Las Vegas; brother, Tony Gallegos and wife, Hafiza of Albuquerque; her daughters, Clarita Tapia of Las Vegas, New Mexico, Edwina Segura of Rio Rancho; son, Eugenio Tapia of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Angelo Tapia, Victoria Pizarro, Carolyn McCall, Lori and Philip Salas; great-grandchild, Angeli Madrid; sons-in-law, Leo A. Ortega of Los Alamos, Joe McCall of Kentucky, Terry Howerton of California and Victor Pizarro of Albuquerque. Juanita had 11 children. Surviving are Carolyn Ortega of Albuquerque; Faye Whalen of Kentucky; Lucy Delgado and husband Albert of Las Vegas, New Mexico; Angie Salas and husband Manuel of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Mary Louise Stone and husband Randy of Thornton, Colorado; Rosemarie Howerton of Rio Rancho, Margaret Pizarro of Albuquerque, and Eduardo Tapia of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. After her husband died, she was left with six children to raise by herself. She moved to Albuquerque from Las Vegas in 1963 and worked at the Girls' Welfare Home until her retirement. She was a very loving mother. Her nickname was "Mama Goose." Juanita belonged to the Extension Club for many years and was their President for three years. She loved going to the Volcanes Senior Center. She also loved dancing, crafts, crocheting, music, going to the casino, and being with her family. For the last two years, she has lived with her daughter, Carolyn, in Albuquerque. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at French - University location. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Santuario De San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW, Albuquerque, NM with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. SAUTELLE -- Michael Victor Sautelle, 25, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010. He is survived by his mother, Theresa Gomez; father, Sidney Sautelle; sister, Christine Jordan and husband, Michael; step-brother, Cody Terrell; and grandparents, Gladys Woodward, and Ralph Gomez; and girlfriend, Heather Gallegos. Michael was a loving son, brother and friend. He was a brilliant student and dedicated athlete and artist. He will be missed and never forgotten. Friends may visit one hour prior to services. ROMERO -- Alfonso G. Romero, age 89, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, January 18, 2010. He was born on April 28, 1920, in Chacon, Mora County, NM, to Federico Romero and Matilde Gallegos. Alfonso lived a long, happy, and healthy life, and he was much loved by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of almost 41 years, Charlotte Martinez Romero, Bosque Farms, NM; step-daughters, Esther Pringle, Albuquerque, NM, Helen Courtney and husband, John, Driggs, Idaho, and Cathy Montoya and husband, Rudy, Albuquerque, NM; grandsons, Rudy and Carlos Montoya and Ken Courtney; granddaughter, Heather Courtney Kopf and husband, Mike; sisters, Eulalia Pando and husband, Jake, West Jordan, UT; one brother, Jose Filadelfio Romero, Salt Lake City, UT; many nephews, nieces and cousins. Alfonso graduated from Menaul High School in Albuquerque, NM, in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Alfonso received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and The Victory Medal. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, Jose Amado Romero; and sisters, Adela Valdez, Celina Lovato, and Maggie Lujan. A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held Monday, January 25, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at French - University Chapel, with visitation starting one hour prior. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM, 1:30 p.m., with U.S. Army Military Honors. Reverend Hiram H.
