RAMIREZ -- Mrs. Rosalina (Rose) V. Ramirez, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 25, 2004 peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family. Mrs. Ramirez is the beloved wife to Mr. Eric Ramirez, married for 61 years. Mrs. Ramirez is also survived by her three sons, Richard Ramirez and wife, Merlinda, Frank Ramirez, Lawrence Ramirez and wife, Yvonne; three daughters, Margie Castillo, Rosann Medina, Rachel Baca and husband, Noel; one brother, Willie Vallejos and wife, Josie; four sisters, Luisa V. Cruz and husband, Rosendo, Logie Turrietta and husband, Romolo, Mary Jean V. Montoya, Mary Ann Garcia and husband, David; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Ramirez was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Maria and Elesia Vallegos and Elfigo and Margarita Saavedra; a son, Daniel Ramirez; and a grandson, Frank Ramirez, Jr. A visitation for Mrs. Ramirez will be Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Funeral Service to be held at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Medina, Rick Ramirez, Lawrence Ramirez, Roger Ramirez, James Castillo, and Noel Baca. HOGAN -- Captain Select James R. Hogan, US Navy Reserve, 57, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carole B. Hogan of Albuquerque; parents, Ben and Lucille Hogan; sisters, Roberta Ormsby and Valerie Hammon-Hogan and husband, Robert, all of California; and many other family and friends. Captain Hogan retired from Sandia National Labs after over 25 years. He proudly served in the US Navy Reserve for over 20 years and rose to the rank of Captain Select. He was commanding officer of several different reserve units including Albuquerque, NM and, currently, Portland, OR. Services will be held Monday, August 30, 2004, 11:00 am, French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Private Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. MCCOWN -- Opal T. McCown, 82, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn McCown and Linda Stucker; son-in-law, Mitchell Stucker, all of Albuquerque; six brothers; and three sisters, residing in Texas. Mrs. McCown was preceded in death by her husband, James A. McCown; and son, James T. McCown. Mrs. McCown worked for many years for the Department of Energy. Services will be held in Whitney, TX. GUTIERREZ -- Rose Gutierrez, 74, a lifelong resident of Cuba, NM, died on August 22, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Gutierrez, formerly of Cuba; two sons, Waldo Gutierrez of Rio Rancho and Gary Gutierrez and wife, Elaine of Albuquerque; three daughters, Joann Baca and husband, Ray of Bernalillo, Sally Maestas of Albuquerque, and Kelly Garcia of Rio Rancho; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; four sisters, Romie Martinez of Cuba, Dora Chavez of Kingman, AZ, Sadie Moore and husband, Ken of Clovis, NM, and Emma Naranjo of Albuquerque; brother, Joe Pena of Reedley, CA. She is preceded in death by her two sons, James Gutierrez and Gilbert Gutierrez Jr.; three sisters; and two brothers. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM with Father John Boland, celebrant. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Vince Bernal, Jared Gutierrez, Adriel Garcia, Joey Gallegos, Duane Arellano, and Eric Montoya. WILLIAMS -- Flora L. Williams, 98, a resident of Albuquerque, NM and formerly Las Cruces, NM, completed her earthly journey at 11:20 am on Saturday, August 21, 2004 and is now with her Lord. She was born Thursday, October 5, 1905 in Byers, OK to the late James and Nellie Page. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. N. Williams; four sisters, Zora McBeth, Nora Thompson, Lennie Millage, and Jewel Cheatam; one brother, Wesley Page; and one grandson, John Mathew Towne. She is survived by two sons, Jack Towne and wife, Frankie, of Hot Springs Village, AR and John Towne and wife, Linda; one granddaughter, Janet Berry and husband, David; two grandsons, Jeffrey M. Towne and wife, Jennifer and Jason Towne; two great-grandsons, James Towne and wife, Erica and Ryan Berry; one great-granddaughter, Alysa Berry, all of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Katie Holloway of Roswell, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Williams was a member of the First Christian Church of Las Cruces, NM since 1944. Her rock solid faith has influenced many throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the Church Women United, Christian Women's Fellowship and worked many hours at the Christian Day Nursery. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at the First Christian Church. DOUGHTY -- James Howard Doughty, a resident of Edgewood, passed away on August 20, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Sydney of Edgewood, NM; daughter, Kara Crotta and husband, Peter of Tijeras; son, Dennis of Sauharita, AZ; Brothers, Jerry and wife, Pat of Lawton Oklahoma, and John and wife, Deborah of Tulsa Oklahoma; and sister, Jan Champion and husband, Jerry of Tulsa Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Jessica and Morgan Crotta of Tijeras, NM. James was employed by the Albuquerque Public Schools as a teacher, coach, and administrator and was a founding member of the Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal in Edgewood. Memorial services will be held at the Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal, 367 State Rd 344, Edgewood, NM on Wednesday, August 25, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at 3:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
