DOCKHAM -- Ruth Iva Dockham, 84, a teacher in the Albuquerque Public Schools system from 1963-1983, passed away suddenly at the U.S. Soldiers' and Airmen's Home in Washington, D.C., on August 21, 2004. Mrs. Dockham was born in Portland, OR, and grew up in Seattle. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. She was married to the late Ralph Dockham of Albuquerque. She is survived by her brother, David Bullock, of Silverdale, WA, and her daughter, Carol Dockham, of Lorton, VA. Funeral services are scheduled for August 30 at Quantico National Cemetery in Virginia.

FREE -- Oather G. Free, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004. He is survived by his daughters, JoeAnn Carr and husband, Dean of Los Lunas and Bobbie Sue Miller; son, Deral Meek and wife, Stacy, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kimberly Miller, Dane Miller, and Charlene Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Julia Meek and Deral Meek, Jr., Dano and Eddy Miller, and Thomas Lawrence; sisters, Dorothy Burton and husband, Charles of Albuquerque and Cecile Schmidt and husband, Rob of Sacramento, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Boyd Morrod officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. HOGAN -- Captain Select James R. Hogan, US Navy Reserve, 57, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carole B. Hogan of Albuquerque; parents, Ben and Lucille Hogan; sisters, Roberta Ormsby and Valerie Hammon-Hogan and husband, Robert, all of California; and many other family and friends. Captain Hogan retired from Sandia National Labs after over 25 years. He proudly served in the US Navy Reserve for over 20 years and rose to the rank of Captain Select. He was commanding officer of several different reserve units including Albuquerque, NM and, currently, Portland, OR. Services will be held Monday, August 30, 2004, 11:00 am, French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Private Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. JONES -- Carrie L. Jones, beloved wife of Millard Jones, died August 24, 2004. She is survived by her children, Lisa Turpin, Tiadonna Foster, Kemba Jones McChugh, Caleb Jones; stepchildren, Adrian, Mark, Anita, and Ann Jones; 22 grandchildren (two deceased); 4 great-grandchildren; and many dear friends and family. Powdrell and wife, Frances, of Albuquerque, Ann Smith and husband, Maurice, of Rio Rancho, Evelyn Faye Roland and husband, Gerald, of Chicago, IL, Ellen Kaye Jones of Albuquerque, Joe Alan Powdrell and wife, Rita, of Albuquerque, Lossie Lee Robertson and husband, Harold, of Rio Rancho, E. RAMIREZ -- Mrs. Rosalina (Rose) V. Ramirez, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 25, 2004 peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family. Mrs. Ramirez is the beloved wife to Mr. Eric Ramirez, married for 61 years. Mrs. Ramirez is also survived by her three sons, Richard Ramirez and wife, Merlinda, Frank Ramirez, Lawrence Ramirez and wife, Yvonne; three daughters, Margie Castillo, Rosann Medina, Rachel Baca and husband, Noel; one brother, Willie Vallejos and wife, Josie; four sisters, Luisa V. Cruz and husband, Rosendo, Logie Turrietta and husband, Romolo, Mary Jean V. Montoya, Mary Ann Garcia and husband, David; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Mrs. Ramirez was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Maria and Elesia Vallegos and Elfigo and Margarita Saavedra; a son, Daniel Ramirez; and a grandson, Frank Ramirez Jr. A visitation for Mrs. Ramirez will be Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Funeral Service to be held at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. ROSENBAUM -- Dora Heldman Rosenbaum, 97, died on August 24 in Albuquerque. She was born in Cleveland, OH on September 9, 1906, to Morris and Rebecca Heldman. Dora is survived by her children, Jacob Rosenbaum and wife, Marjorie, of Cleveland, Ernest Rosenbaum and wife, Isadora, of San Francisco, Arthur Rosenbaum and wife, Rona, of Baltimore, and Lillian Snyder and partner, Mary Alice Morris, of Albuquerque; her sister, Fannie Ushkow of West Palm Beach; ten grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lionel Clarence Rosenbaum; and a sister, Lee Goldman. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Dora and Lionel Rosenbaum Presidential Scholarship Fund, Hodgin Hall, The University of New Mexico, which provides music scholarships for aspiring students. SANCHEZ -- Mrs. Michelle Sanchez, 42, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on August 25, 2004. Michelle is the beloved wife to David A. Sanchez, married for 24 years. Michelle is also survived by her loving daughter, Brandy Sanchez; five sisters, Susan Vela and husband, John, Esther Chavez and husband, Albert, Victoria Aguilar, Marty Gonzalez and husband, Steve, and Catherine Martinez; four brothers, Joseph Parra, Michael Parra, Alfred Parra and wife, Sally, John Parra and wife, Bernadette; Godchildren, Beatrice Aguilar, Albert Chavez III, and Ashley Parra; father-in-law, Fred Sanchez; mother-in-law, Clara Sanchez; several aunts; uncles; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Michelle was a member of the Catholic Church and a Woman of the Moose. A Memorial Rosary will be recited Friday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel at 7:00 p.m. by Michaelle Gonzales. The family will be receiving family and friends after 6:30 p.m. A final visitation will be Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by a Franciscan Friar. WALLACE -- Charlotte Wallace passed away Aug. 23, 2004 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born Feb. 18, 1933 in Pennsylvania and raised in NY state, she graduated from Wellesley College in 1954 and married Richard Wallace of Phoenix, AZ the same year. The couple raised their 3 children in Phoenix before moving to Albuquerque in 1984. Known to all as Charlee, she spent most of her adult life as a professional volunteer with Red Cross, Girl Scouts, and, the anchor of her work, American Field Service International high school exchange program. During her nearly 30 years as an AFS volunteer - initially as host parent in 1975, then Chapter President in AZ and finally Area Team Coordinator for NM into 2004 -- Charlee touched the lives and hearts of hundreds of students and families from around the world. She was also a talented watercolor artist, active for many years with the Watercolor Associations of both AZ and NM. Charlee is survived by Richard, her husband of 50 years; their three children and spouses, Andrew and Sarah Wallace, Hilary and Jeffrey Brelsford, and Elizabeth and Jay Starks; grand-children, Nina and Erik Wallace, Caitlin and Delaney Starks, and AFS exchange daughter, Maya Glibetic. She is also survived by her beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law, William and Nancy Wallace and Blake and Janet Wallace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Werner and her sister, Karen Werner. The Burial Office will be read in St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, 318 Silver S.W., at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2004.
