PARSONS -- DANNY WAYNE Age 50, died January 29, 2012. He was born in Magnolia, MS on March 9, 1961. He passed shortly after being diagnosed with liver cancer. He was preceded in death by his father Paul E. Parsons. Danny Parsons is survived by his son Danny Jr. and his wife Carmen of Rio Rancho, NM; son Howard and his wife April of Alice, TX; son David and his fiancee Baliey of Moriarty, NM; mother Glenda M. Garrison of Meridian, MS. He is also survived by ten grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 4th from 12:00-4:00 pm at 55 Cedar Lane Moriarty, NM 87035. The funeral service will be held in Mississippi at a future date.

PAYNTER -- ROBERT EUGENE Age 83, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012. He was born on November 15, 1928 to Raymond and Zelma (Winson) Paynter of Alton, Illinois. He served in the United States Army from 1948 - 1950. He then graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Accounting and a Minor in Business Law from New York University in 1958. He spent the majority of his career, 1963 - 1989, with McDonnell Douglas, and attained the position of Director of Financial Controls. Mr. Paynter was a member of the American Legion #632 in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. His family will remember him as a devoted family man who was an avid pool player. "He was a rabid St. Louis Cardinal and Dallas Cowboys fan." He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Grace Paynter of Rio Rancho, NM; children, Betsy Padilla of Albuquerque, NM, George Grimm of Corrales, NM, Eva Vaughn of O'Fallon, MO, and Judith Simpson of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Kathaleen Padilla, George Grimm, Carla Farley, Robert Grimm, Courtney Sills, Stephanie Vaughn, Joseph Simpson, and Samantha Simpson; and seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Wilma Schleuter of Godfrey, IL. RAMIREZ -- PETE PEDRO (BUDDY) Age 75, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Rose; daughter, Angela; son, Arthur and his wife, Christina; four grandsons, Joseph, Brent and Michael Ramirez and Jacob Hall; siblings, Richard and his wife, Lela, Theresa Ortega, Max and his wife, Eva and Margaret Correa and her husband, Floyd; godson, Larry Leyba; goddaughters, Joyce Vigil and Debbie Trujillo; and many nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his father, Malaquias Ramirez; mother, Rosa Ramirez; his beloved son, Anthony (Tony) Ramirez; his brother, Sam Ramirez; niece, Judith Hogrefe and nephew, Samuel Ramirez. Buddy was born and raised in Springer, NM and later attended New Mexico Highlands University where he played football. He began his career with the NM Department of Corrections in 1956 and retired in 1985. During this time, he joined the NM National Guard and later transferred to the USAF Reserves, where he served during Operation Desert Storm. A Celebration of Buddy's Life will be held on February 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at French-Westside Chapel. Interment with full military honors will take place at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. TRUJILLO -- JANICE MARIE Born December 8, 1951, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 27, 2012. She faithfully served Christ, and shared her faith as a children's minister for thirty-five years. She loved and humbly gave to countless foster children for fourteen years. Janice also continued advocating for children and families as the program administrator of the NMCRB for another ten years. Janice was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rev. Kenzy and Esther Savage and her paternal grandparents, Ralph and Ida Wheeler. She is survived by her husband, Bill Trujillo; four children, Starla (David), Brandon (Carol), Christy, and Katie; four grandchildren; parents, Floyd and Bobbie Wheeler; and sister, Nancy (Gary). A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 10:00 am. WALKER -- JOSEPH "JOE" E. December 15, 1952- January 28, 2012 Beloved son, husband, father, brother and friend passed away at St. John's Regional Hospital in Farmington, NM after a courageous battle with cancer. In 1964 Joe moved with his family to Albuquerque, NM. He attended St. Pius High School graduating in 1970, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University in 1978. He worked for the NM State Police before becoming a member of the Farmington Police Dept. After retiring in December 2006, he continued teaching the "Alive at25" and defensive driving course for the NM State Police Academy. Joe was a muscle car enthusiast, he loved spending time with his family, camping and four wheeling in Colorado mountains. He is survived by his wife Karen; daughters Racheal and Liana; sons Andrew and Micah; parents Kenneth and Mary Walker; sisters Dottie, Mary, Barbara, Ruth and Jeane; brothers Gary, Kenny and Jim; and other extended family members. Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Farmington. Wake and rosary will be on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in Joe's name.

WEEMS -- IRENE PRIBYL Age 89, a resident of Albuquerque and Lake City CO, passed away on Jan 18. A native of Planice Czech Republic, DOB 1/8/22. Married Francis J. "Bud" Weems during WWII in Pilzen,CZ and resided in Louisiana until 1955 when they relocated to Lake City, CO. They owned and operated the Texaco station for 30 years. Her love for Lake City drove her development of Weems Malter Placer subdivision. She was involved in numerous civic and charitable endeavors, including President of Hinsdale County Chamber of Commerce, chairman of Lake City Water Commission, a founder of Hinsdale County Historical Society. As a member of ABQ Cafe Europa she spoke to local middle schools about her experiences during the war. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Weems Evans and son-in-law Van of Fairfax VA; nieces and nephews, Laura Chapman of Williamsburg VA, Charles Pribyl of Tokyo Japan, Andrea Pribyl of Denver CO and Yvonne Weems of Winnsboro LA. Interment was Jan 25th at IOOF Cemetery in Lake City CO. A Memorial Celebration of her life is planned for summer in Lake City. WEISZ -- DOROTHY P. (HUMPHRIES) Was born on February 21, 1927 to Claddie de Priest Humphries and Thomas F. Humphries in Stanton, VA (in the Shenandoah Valley) and died on Saturday, January 28, 2012. After high school she attended the Univ. of Houston in Houston, TX and the NY Institute of Finance in NY City. She was a stock broker with various NY Stock Exchange member firms in NY City, Houston, TX, Palm Springs, CA, and Albuquerque. She retired here in 1970. In 1973, she purchased a cosmetic franchise, which she sold in 1980. In 1962 she married Ernest Hagood, Jr., son of Ernest Hagood, MD, Alb. They moved to Alb. in 1968. Ernie died in 1988. It was at this time that she realized she had to turn everything over to the Lord, that she could not fix everything in life herself. In 1995 she married Bill Weisz, the love of her life. She is survived by her husband; two step-sons, Paul and wife Christy of Alb., NM and David and wife Mary Ann of Shapleigh, ME; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her only child, Barbara, died in July of 1999. She attended Mountain View Free Will Baptist Church. She adopted Bill's family as her own and was at the births of Paul and Christy's children. What a joy they were to her. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

ZIMPEL -- MELVAH SUE (DUSENBERRY) Age 79, resident of Tijeras, New Mexico, passed away January 25, 2012. Sue was born November 19, 1932, in McAlester, Oklahoma to Mabel and Clarence Dusenberry. She was a 1949 graduate of Denison High School, Denison, Texas. Husband Richard Zimpel; son Charles Warren and family; daughter Janet Oseid and family; three grandsons; and two great-grandsons survive Sue. Father Scott Lay will conduct the Requiem Mass at St. Peters Anglican Church (NW corner of Paseo Del Norte and Eubank) on February 4, 2012, at 10:00 AM. ALLEN -- TRAVIS Age 87, passed away at home after a long illness on Sunday, January 29, 2012. He was born May 29, 1924 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to DeWitt and Mary Gladys Allen. His is survived by his wife, Bette, to whom he was married on February 21, 1981; four children, David Allen, Rhonda Davis of Cedar Crest, NM, Janene Buhr of Cedar Crest, NM and Tina Buchel of Bloomsbury, NJ. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Morga. Grandchildren are Lara Torres, Christy Groves, Megan and Lesley Morga, Justin Morga, Eric Clinch, Crystal Wayne, Amanda and Adam Buchel; great-grandchildren are Shelby Torres, Jocelyn Bauer, Cassidy and Corina Groves Cailen, Jenny, Jadin and Joceyn Morga, Tristan Morga, Jager Wayne; one great, great grandchild, Mason Torres and also nieces and nephews. He was a Veteran of the Army, Air Force in WWII and served in the Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue after the war. He worked at Sandia National Labs for 39 years and was the co-inventor of the Solder Coating and Hot Air leveling machine. His biography appeared in Who's Who in The West 1982- 1983 and 1984-1985. He was Post VP of the enchanted Lens Camera Club 1991 and the Albuquerque Astronomical Society 1992. His hobbies included gardening, photography, camping and travel as well as coin collecting. His beloved dachshund, Misty, was a constant companion during his illness. Visitation will be at French Lomas, Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5 Ent Del Norte, Edgewood, NM 87015 on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE.
