WALKER -- JOSEPH "JOE" E. December 15, 1952- January 28, 2012 Beloved son, husband, father, brother and friend passed away at St. John's Regional Hospital in Farmington, NM after a courageous battle with cancer. In 1964 Joe moved with his family to Albuquerque, NM. He attended St. Pius High School graduating in 1970, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University in 1978. He worked for the NM State Police before becoming a member of the Farmington Police Dept. After retiring in December 2006, he continued teaching the "Alive at25" and defensive driving course for the NM State Police Academy. Joe was a muscle car enthusiast, he loved spending time with his family, camping and four wheeling in Colorado mountains. He is survived by his wife Karen; daughters Racheal and Liana; sons Andrew and Micah; parents Kenneth and Mary Walker; sisters Dottie, Mary, Barbara, Ruth and Jeane; brothers Gary, Kenny and Jim; and other extended family members. Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Farmington. Wake and rosary will be on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in Joe's name.
