BOURGUET -- AMALIA A. age 84, born and raised in Las Palomas, NM, and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 27, 2011 with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Bourguet is survived by her loving children, Mary Ida Martinez and husband, Joe, Alfred Bourguet and wife, Theresa, Dolores Bourguet, Mickie Silva and husband, Arthur; her brother Diego Robert (Bob) Armijo; grandchildren, Elaine Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Natalie Martinez, Stephen Martinez, Kristina Webster and husband, Rusty, Laura Bourguet, Arlena Bourguet, Anthony Bourguet and wife, Tanya, Jacquelyn Silva, Marialisa Silva, and Andrew Silva; great-grandchildren, Michael and A.J. Bourguet. Mrs. Bourguet was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-three years, Napoleon Bourguet; daughter, Margaret Bourguet; and her parents, Hinofrio and Miquela Armijo. Mrs. Bourguet graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1945, and married Napoleon in 1946, upon his return from service in WWII. They moved to Albuquerque to begin their family. Mrs. Bourguet had a loving smile and generous heart. She made everyone feel special, and always had food for everyone, especially on Sunday's after Mass, where the day was spent at her house. She was a loving Mom, and "Grama", and nothing meant more to her than her grandchildren, whom she adored. Mrs. Bourguet was a member of St. Edwin Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, the Legion of Mary and a CCD teacher. Visitation will be Monday, January 2, 2012 at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2150 Barcelona SW, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.by Father Bill Sanchez. Final visitation will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Edwin Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., Father Bill Sanchez, presider. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Martinez, Stephen Martinez, Andrew Silva, Diego Armijo, Ernest Armijo and Jake Bourguet. BRODY -- JEROME "JERRY" Passed away on December 29, 2011 at age 85. He was a long time resident of Philadelphia, PA and Cherry Hill, NJ and a more recent resident of Albuquerque, NM. Dear father of Richard (Cheryle, who was Jerry's special angel) and Robert (Jun), grandfather to A.J. and Eve, husband of Norma (nee Abrams) and brother of the late Allan, his twin. Jerry was a graduate of Temple University and was a professional musician for almost 70 years. He was a World War II veteran where he proudly served the Navy in Japan as a medical specialist. He worked at the Department of the Army for over 35 years where he achieved one of the top civilian positions and will be remembered by anyone that knew him as an intelligent, fun-loving individual with a great sense of humor who always put his family first. CASTILLO -- FRANK S. Was born August 9, 1929 in Barelas (Albuquerque), NM. He passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at his home in Albuquerque at the age of 82. Frank was a member of the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Knights of Columus, the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.), and the Solo Club. His hobbies include tap dancing (Fishback Studio), country and western dancing, growing flowers, bicycle riding, and traveling. Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jennie D. Castillo who passed away October 16, 2008; parents, Francisco and Maria Castillo; brothers and sisters, Carmen Gutierrez, Earnest Castillo, Tony Castillo, Victor Castillo, and Avilio Castillo; and granddaughter, Wendy Lucero. He is survived by his children, Stephen and Dalila Castillo of the Republic of Panama, Nancy and Manuel Lucero of Albuquerque, Ken and Linda Castillo of Albuquerque, Cynthia and Chris Garcia of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jesse and Moraima Castillo of Alpine, Texas, Angela and Fernando Valenciana of Ft. Worth, Texas, Manuel III and Courtney Lucero and Timothy and Natalie Lucero, all of Albuquerque, Kenneth and Amanda Castillo, Sarah and Joseph Velasquez, all of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Carlos, Edmar, and Joshua, Diego and Madison, Destiny, Aldon, Jalyn and Austin, Timothy Diego, Mariah, Kenneth III and Elijah; great-great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Dino, Robert, Kenneth, and Ashlee; brothers and sisters, Stella Prenni, Felix Castillo, Rupert Castillo, Mary Wildman, and Lydia Guevara. DABBS -- CARL Passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011. He was born on March 17, 1920 in Alabama, one of seven children. They were orphaned at a young age. Carl kept the family together by working in a CCC camp in California in the late 1930's. Dabbs worked in Alaska on the DEW line and came to NM to work for Western Electric. He met his wife Robbie of almost 50 years in Farmington when both worked for Mountain Bell. Others who survive Carl are his sister, Margaret; sisters-in-law, P.J. Sparks, Norma Fauquar, Gloria Harden, Raye Kirkmeyer, Rita Dabbs, and Mary Louise Dabbs; and many nieces and nephews. He kept a close relationship with his siblings, nieces and nephews through frequent trips and family reunions. They knew they could always count on "Uncle Carl". Carl, a devoted Christian and Deacon, was a member of First Baptist Church of Albuquerque. Carl and Robbie showed compassionate Christian service by helping widows, doing yard work for others, making weekly visits to the sick and home bound, and those in nursing homes. They provided transportation to church for many seniors who could no longer drive. Carl taught a children's Sunday school class for many years at FBC and faithfully attended midweek prayer meetings and Bible study. He was honored for some 25 years of volunteer service to the homeless at Noon Day ministry. Carl enjoyed fishing and played weekly golf for over 20 years with Art Wood, Bob Boyd, Tommy Ferguson and Travis Ferguson. He and Robbie enjoyed travelling around the US and the world. They spent many summers at the Colorado cabin of special friends John and Jean Hawk. Carl was also active with the Telephone Pioneers, Shriners and Elks Club. Friends may visit French University Chapel on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 5:00 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at French University Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Laurence Duran, daughter, Pauline Therese Roche and husband Rick, grandchildren; Kerri Murphy, Christopher Sandoval, Gabriel Duran II wife Robin, Lori Sandoval and husband Josh, Jennifer Gohrick, Elliott Duran, James Parr and wife Lara and great grandchildren; Sean Murphy, Synderalia, Valientino and Gabriel Duran III, Audrey and Sophie Gohrick. EYSTER -- CONNIE JOAN Age 70, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. She went home to be with Our Lord and Savior after a battle with Lymphoma. Connie was blessed with a wonderful family, leaving behind her husband of 52 years Larry Eyster, daughter Angela Manning and husband Dean, son Michael Eyster and companion Veronica Placencio, son David Eyster and wife Sarah; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters and many other family members and friends. Connie was born in Angola, IN and lived many years in Lindsey, OH before moving to Albuquerque in October of 1982. She loved the beautiful blue skies and climate of New Mexico where she loved to nurture and grow her flowers and plants. Connie was also the most avid sports fan. She was always the one to call if you couldn't remember a coach's name or something about a team. Most of her TV watching was spent on ESPN, especially when DUKE was playing basketball. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will forever be the wind beneath our wings! A private family memorial will take place at a later date.
