ASHWILL -- Benjamin (Ben, Benji, Benny) In loving memory of Ben Ashwill September 14, 1983 - January 22, 2010 We did not know that morning, God would call your name; In life we loved your dearly, In death we do the same; It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone; Part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us wonderful memories, Your love is still our guide: And though we cannot see you, You are always by our side. The family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same; But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again Ben, we miss you immensely. Thanks to so many friends for your kindness and support. Tom, Donna, Brandi, Tamara and the Ashwill family.

DEPATIE -- Corrine Becker Depatie passed away January 17, 2011 in the comfort of her home with her family at her side. She passed away due to complications secondary to Alzheimers disease. Corrine was born May 20, 1934 to Emily and Julius Becker. An only child, Corrine grew up assisting her father in the family pie shop in Norwalk, Connecticut. To her friends her home was the favorite gathering spot after school for the delicious pies that were in abundance. Following high school she met the love of her life, David Depatie, while studying chemistry at the University of Vermont. She went on to earn her Masters of Chemistry and on September 1, 1956 she and David were united in marriage. She worked in the research laboratory at Yale Medical Center while David attended graduate school and later taught chemistry at Trinity College. They began a family together giving birth to their first child, Jonathan David, and three years later their daughter, Jocelyn Mae. The young family relocated in the early 1970's to Albuquerque, New Mexico. For the next 25 years, Corrine enjoyed working in the real estate industry in the Albuquerque area. It is in the Southwest that Corrine's love of art blossomed. She loved the vibrant colors, and the vivid landscape the southwest offered. She spent a week studying art at the ranch where Georgia O'Keefe painted and this ignited her passion in art. Watercolors were the medium she chose to create her many works. It is these works that she will perhaps be most remembered for. Many have been shown in art exhibits across the Mid and South-West regions of the US. They are now prominently displayed in the family homes. Later this spring the family will honor her memory with an art exhibit and auction with proceeds benefiting the Alzheimers Association. She will join in spirit her son, Jonathan David, 1963-2001. She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, David; her daughter, Jocelyn; her granddaughter, Danielle Emily Doney; and her grandson, Wesley David Doney. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be offered for her friends, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Edstrom & Rooks Funeral Service, Serenity Springs Chapel of Tranquility, Rapid City, SD. In lieu of flowers the family requests your generous donation to the Alzheimers Association. Friends may sign her online guestbook and offer condolences at: www.serenityspringsfuneralchapel.com.

RAPAPORT -- Louise Eleanor Rapaport, nee Brock, was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on August 9, 1922. Her parents moved to Pasadena, California when she was a year old. She graduated Pasadena City College and the Woodbury Business College and worked with a team upgrading the firepower system of the B-29 bomber at the close of WWII. An adventurous person, in 1947 she acquired a run down Indian trading post 10 miles west of Grants, NM which she and her parents renovated, including adding a restaurant. She became conversant in Navajo and an expert in appraising Indian jewelry and rugs. In 1952 she married Rusty Rapaport, a geological engineer with the Atomic Energy Commission, who later founded the Four Corners Exploration Co. Housing and funds were scarce and they moved to a small trailer without electricity or running water miles from any human habitation in the company of wild horses, deer and elk, bobcats, cougars, quail and rattlesnakes. The company was successful and in stark contrast to the trailer, they rented an apartment overlooking Central Park while Rusty pursued graduate studies at Columbia University. Louise energetically pursued self improvement: spent a month with her art teacher, Irene Bradford, and 3 Grants friends painting in Mexico. She also attended the Instituto at San Miguel de Allende studying Spanish. She was dedicated to public service throughout her life. In Grants she was an active member of the Pilot Club, Beta Sigma Phi, the Womens' Auxiliary of the Institute of Mining and Petroleum Engineers and was in charge of the improvement of the Grants Cemetery. In Albuquerque she belonged to the Petrol Club, the Garden Club, the Tennis Club and spent more than 20 years working two days a week at the Blue Portal in Old Town for the Assistance League. Although they were able to spend extensive time traveling to Europe and Latin America in later years, the views from a dilapidated trailer of Mount Taylor remained fondly engraved in her mind. Louise is survived by her husband, Rusty, three daughters and a son: Janna, an architect in Santa Fe and Lima, Peru; Lisa, a professor at Clemson University, South Carolina; Laurel, Director of Nursing at Vista Taos; Eric, a musician and computer programmer in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is survived by a brother, Clarence in San Dimas, California. She has three grandchildren: Marcel, Joaquin, and Hannah Claire. Louise was the epitome of the term "a good woman". After life's fitful fever she sleeps well. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at French - University Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assistance League of Albuquerque Inc., 529 Chama St. NE, 87108. Please visit the online guestbook for Louise at: www.RememberTheirStory.com.
