Obituary for PURDY

Marquita G., 90, cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 13, 2011. Growing up in Las Vegas, NM and spending most of her life in Santa Fe, NM. Marquita is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Dr. James Purdy; and their six children: Marquita and husband Tony George, Jim and wife Rita, Carmen Purdy and fiance Edward Duran, Bob and wife Linda, Ramona and husband Jay Coffman, and Dolores and husband Nick Melancon; Marquita is also survived by her brother Bob and wife Mary Alice Guerin of Bernalillo, NM. Following the retirement of her husband from dentistry, the couple spent many years living on a sailboat on the Sea of Cortez. Marquita will be remembered as a people person who always took every opportunity to get to know the many individuals she met. Funeral Services will be held at Cristo Rey Church in Santa Fe at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 followed by internment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
