ABEYTA -- Georgann Loretta Abeyta (Motto) 54, passed away October 1, 2008 in Mesa, AZ. She was the youngest daughter of Carmen and Claudina (Sanchez) Motto. Georgie was born in Albuquerque, NM on February 22, 1954. She grew up in the North Valley, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Valley High School, class of 1972. She was previously married to Gary Abeyta. They owned a business together in the community for many years. Georgie was loving, very strong, outgoing, and never afraid to talk to people or try new things and always willing to help others. We love you and miss you. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Marialysia Abeyta, Genine Abeyta, Nadia Gatsch; three grandchildren, Aelyn Gatsch, Seamus Gatsch, Gillian Donnarumma; siblings, Dolores and husband Mike Martinez, Barbara and husband Steve Archibeque, Andrew and wife Teresa Motto, Gary Motto, Anthony Motto; and her weenie dog, Hershey. She has always mentioned that when it was her time she would be reunited with those who went before her including her parents; and brother, Johnny Motto. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of her Life in the Parish Hall. ALFIERI -- IRMA. In Loving memory of Irma Alfieri, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord October 6, 2008 at the age of 82. Irma was a resident of New Mexico since 1971. She is preceded by her son Kenneth Alfieri. She is survived by her spouse, of 59 years, Bruno V. Alfieri; children Denise Forte and spouse Jerry, Robert Alfieri and spouse Lexi, Lisa Alfieri, Tom Alfieri and spouse Donna, and Christopher Alfieri; grandchildren Charity Bradshaw and her spouse Matt, Elise and Jonathan Forte, Michael and Nicholas Alfieri, Michelle Allen and her spouse Jeff, Daniel and John-Mark Hagerty, Destiny Lightbourne and her spouse Brian, and Gina Payne; great-grandchildren Madison and Ella Payne. She is also survived by many faithful and loving friends. Irma was a long-time member of Legacy Church where she sang in the choir. She had an impact on many through her prayers and encouragement. Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Legacy Church 7201 Central NW with Pastor Steve Smothermon officiating. ANDREWS -- Shirley E. Andrews, a long time resident of Albuquerque passed away October 3, 2008. She was born in Oregon, MO on November 8, 1927 to Fred and Maudine Carson. After graduating high school and teaching school for one year, she married William W. Andrews. They moved to Albuquerque in 1947 to start a family and purchased Devines Trailer Sales, which eventually became Andrews Mobile Homes. She was a homemaker, home health care aide, avid Lobo fan and loved working in her garden. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy Gabbert; brother, Larry Carson; and husband of 45 years, William W. Andrews. She is survived by children, Steve Andrews, Debbie and husband Jack Harlow, Terri and husband Don Hanosh, brother Robert Carson and wife Betty; grandchildren Amber and husband Larry Merritt, Tya Schoppe, Dr. Eli Hanosh, Ashley and Lindsay Hanosh, great-grandchildren Trevor Biggs, Callie Justus, Rileigh Merritt; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private Ceremony for the immediate family will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be interred with her husband.

BASHA -- Mary and Ellis Basha were taken from their loved ones on October 2, 2008. They pursued many activities including sports and arts; living rich, full and rewarding lives until the very last minute. Born in Shanghai China, Ellis eventually settled in Arizona after his military service. There he met Mary who had moved there from her home in Illinois to teach on Indian reservations. They moved to New Mexico where they raised five children and ten grandchildren. Both were highly educated but down to earth. Their personalities were as eclectic and diverse as their passions: Ellis was an expert photographer, spoke several languages, passionate about technology and was a regular at the gym. Mary was an accomplished pianist, potter, gardener and a skilled seamstress who also practiced Tai Chi. Both shared a love for travel, the outdoors and their family. Their wisdom and company will be sorely missed. Donations can be made to Catholic Charities and Boys and Girls Ranches of New Mexico. CHAVEZ -- Marvin Chavez, 59, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008. Marvin was born September 6, 1949 the son of Jose S. and Eulilia Maria Montano Chavez in Albuquerque. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose S. Chavez; and wife Equilda Chavez. He is survived by his mother, Eulilia M. Montano Chavez; six children, Louie Joe Chavez and wife Doreen, Angela Chavez and husband Chris Romero, Marvin Chavez and wife Candy, Crystal Chavez and life partner Frankie Sandoval, Elvis Chavez and wife Elizabeth, and Natalie Chavez and husband Ronald Montano; 23 loving grandchildren; one sister, Linda Montano and husband Junius; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. DIAZ-QUEZADA -- Jacobo Diaz-Quezada, 77, went to be with our Lord on Monday. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Pauline "Tita" M. Diaz; seven sons, Ruben Diaz and wife, Anita; Beto Diaz and wife, Sylvia, Manuel Diaz, Mauricio Diaz and wife, Rosa, Arturo Diaz and wife, Enedina, Jacob P. Diaz and Mark A. Diaz; step-son, Leroy J. Santillanes; daughters, Flor Munoz and husband, Oswaldo, Guadalupe Frias and husband, Ramiro; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Jacobo was a quiet and private man who loved the outdoors. He was a great father and provider for his family. ENGLEHART -- Norma Lee Englehart, born April 10, 1924 in Goodland, KS, passed away October 5, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. Services will take place at a later date in Arriola, Colorado. Mrs. Englehart was preceded in death by Robert Earl Englehart. She is survived by two sons, Robert Englehart and wife, Bonnie, and Ricky Dean Englehart; three daughters, Donna Sparks and husband, Jim, Wanda Ingerton, Betty Jenkins and husband, Jame; 15 grandkids; 33 great-grandkids; and ten great-great-grandkids. PLUMB -- Margery Ruth Plumb, the youngest of ten children, was born in Cisne, IL, Sunday, November 30, 1919. She joined the heavenly choir on Sunday, October 5, 2008. Margery had lived at Manzano del Sol Good Samaritan Home in Albuquerque since 1996. She was dearly loved by everyone who knew her. Her lovely smile and always-pleasant personality endeared her to all. Margery was predeceased by her husband, Joe Plumb and a step-grandson, Richard Singer. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Singer and husband, Leland, of Palacios, TX; and sons, Charlie Plumb and wife, Susan, of Calabasas, CA; Larry Plumb and wife, Donna, of Phoenix, AZ; and Brad Plumb and wife, Karen, of Overland Park, KS. She also leaves many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margery was active in Baptist churches wherever she lived, and was a devout Christian. She will be remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as a wonderful blessing in their lives. A Celebration of her Life will be held in the chapel at Manzano Del Sol Good Samaritan Village Thursday, October 9, 2008, 10:00 a.m.. RUSSELL -- Joan Carolyn Walker Randall Russell, 81, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening August 27, 2008. Memorial Service will be at Daniels Funeral Home, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, Albuquerque, NM, Saturday, October 11, 2008 2 p.m. Joan was born prematurely February 5, 1927, in Wyandotte, MI. She completed high school in Niles, MI, and attended nursing school before marrying Donald C. Randall, now deceased, in 1950. They had six children, Teresa Marie (Les) Finken with daughters Erica (Michael Roberts), and Stephanie; Linda Joan Randall; Mary Lynn Russell, with daughter Anne; Gregory Stephen Randall (Mary Ann, son Duncan), with daughter Risse (Ron) Miller, and son Daniel (Eileen); Stephen Daniel Randall (deceased); and Genevieve Antoinette (Doug) Howe, with daughters Miranda and Keeley. Joan is also survived by her brother John (Betty Jean) Walker, of Michigan. In 1976, Joan married Arthur Russell, who passed away in 1998 at 101. Joan worked in CAD drafting at Sandia Labs in the 1980s. She had a lovely voice, sang in choirs, and shared her love of classical music with many. Her hands were always busy sewing, quilting, and knitting creatively crafted items for family and those in need. She enjoyed overseeing the Information Desk and greeting people at Heights Christian Church, where Arthur was an Elder. She loved reading to children at Sombra del Monte Elementary School. She raised dachshunds she rescued from shelters, fed the birds, and gardened. Her legacy lives on in the welcomes we make, the care we give, and the flowers we plant. SAAVEDRA -- Roberto (Bobby) Saavedra "La Chuca", 70, a resident of Albuquerque passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008. Mr. Saavedra is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lupe; four children, Martha Contreras and husband, Anthony Anaya, Robert Saavedra and fiancee, Kaylee Tindelle, Lawrence Saavedra, Estella Cervantes and husband, Jose; nine sisters, Rita Maldonado and husband, Lupe, Emily Saavedra, Yolanda Perez and husband, Francisco, Julia Ortega, Adela Maldonado and Sonny, Dubie Sedillo and husband, Isaac, Diana Rivera and husband, Robert, Agnes Randall and husband, Steve, Celina Phillips; two brothers, Shane Cassidy, Filimon Muniz and wife, Linda; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Mr. Saavedra was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Salas; father, Miguel (Tony) Saavedra; sister, Elizabeth Garcia. Mr. Saavedra was a member of the Catholic Church.
