Roberto (Bobby) Saavedra "La Chuca", 70, a resident of Albuquerque passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008. Mr. Saavedra is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lupe; four children, Martha Contreras and husband, Anthony Anaya, Robert Saavedra and fiancee, Kaylee Tindelle, Lawrence Saavedra, Estella Cervantes and husband, Jose; nine sisters, Rita Maldonado and husband, Lupe, Emily Saavedra, Yolanda Perez and husband, Francisco, Julia Ortega, Adela Maldonado and Sonny, Dubie Sedillo and husband, Isaac, Diana Rivera and husband, Robert, Agnes Randall and husband, Steve, Celina Phillips; two brothers, Shane Cassidy, Filimon Muniz and wife, Linda; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Mr. Saavedra was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Salas; father, Miguel (Tony) Saavedra; sister, Elizabeth Garcia. Mr. Saavedra was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at San Jose de Los Duranes Mission, 2110 Los Luceros Rd. NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Annette Nieto and Diana La Cour. Final visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 at San Jose de Los Duranes Mission with a Communion Service to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery. Pallbearers are Juanito Saavedra, Anthony Saavedra, Adrian Garcia, Chris Sanchez, Ruben Benavidez, Gabriel Muniz. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Carrera and Johnnie Garcia.
