Anderson-Hall and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Zachary, Aaron and Matthew; and numerous other family and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Bill Anderson; parents; and her sister. C'DE BACA -- Nevarez A. C' de Baca, a resident of Albuquerque went into the hands of the Lord on August 16, 2008. Mr. C'de Baca was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Marianita C' de Baca, four sisters and one brother. Navarez is survived by one brother, Philip C' de Baca , Jr., of Colorado Springs, Co., four sisters, Alberia C' de Baca, Dora Sanchez and husband, Arthur, Margaret Trujillo and husband, Flavio, all of Albuquerque, and Lupe Garcia of Jemez Springs; and many nephews and nieces. Nevarez was a very devout Catholic, and was a member of the Third Order of St. Frances for many years. He loved singing and was a member of the Catholic Church Choir and had a host of friends. Navarez was a retired school teacher from Albuquerque Public School System having taught many years at Garfield Middle School. Visitation will be Friday, August 22, 2008, 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. Final visitation will be Saturday, August 23, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Father Ron Carillo, presider. ELLEFSON -- John Richard Ellefson, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2008. A respected and beloved husband, father and grandfather, John is mourned by his wife, Nancy (Hatfield); his sons, Varic Kenneth and Calen Eric; grandsons, Sean Charles and Paul Merritt; granddaughters, Mira Leandra and Carina Maris. John was born on March 27, 1933, in Great Falls, Montana. He served in the Montana National Guard for three years and then in the Navy from 1953 until 1957. He received his Bachelor Degree in Physics and a Masters in Mathematics from Montana State University and a PhD. in Statistics from the University of New Mexico. He worked as a statistician and researcher for Sandia Laboratories. Elected State representative in 1982, John served until 1984. A true idealist and believer in personal responsibility, John worked tirelessly for many years to elect progressive candidates. John will be laid to rest with military honors in Santa Fe, New Mexico at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2008. He will be greatly missed by family and his many friends.

ELLIS -- James Norman Ellis, retired MSGT. United States Air Force, Vietnam Veteran, and APS teacher for 22 years, was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 17, 2008, after a swift and sudden battle with cancer. Jim was a friend to everyone. He was a kind and faithful man, who loved his wife, Kathy, as himself; loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with great joy; loved the Lord with all his heart and soul. He attended Calvary Chapel since 1990, and was blessed with a special kinship group of amazing Christians. For the past 11 years, Jim and Kathy have been a part of the close and loving Sandia High School family. A Military Service will be held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Patsy Giffin Theatre at Sandia High School on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. Friends, family, current and former students are invited to attend. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 4900 Bond Court NW on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Friends, students and family are invited to bring food, music, memories, and share in the joy of his life. HANDY -- Lillian Heineken Handy, died July 6, 2008 after a short illness. She was born January 17, 1917 in Texas, to John and Millie Garner. She was the seventh of seven children. Lillian married Deward Henderson, and they moved to McNary, AZ. Three daughters were born while they were there. They moved to Albuquerque in 1948. She lived there until June of 2008. She moved to Farmington, to be with her daughter, until she died. She was preceded in death by her parents; and all of her brothers and sisters. Her husbands, Deward Henderson and Melvin Heineken. Her grandsons, James Hill and David Hill. She is survived by her husband, Robert Handy; her children, Patricia Hudson and husband Harvey, Gail Kaehr and husband Mickey, Linda Lewis and Neil. Step-children, Bob and wife Margaret, Judy Hanna and husband Fred, Lane Wright, all of Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She was a woman of many talents. She could sew, she did oil painting, had pretty flowers and raised a garden. She taught painting at the senior center, when she lived in Edgewood. She will be greatly missed. LEGARRETA -- Ventura Arrieta Legarreta, 77, resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 19, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary; children, Ben Legarreta and wife, Elaine, Marlene Legarreta, Kathy Otero and husband, James, Eulalio Legarreta, Joel Legarreta and wife, Wendy Harris, Eli Legarreta and wife, Natania, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Eulalio Jr., Ruperto and Hector Legarreta; sister, Fausta; 19 grandchildren including Melissa and Toby Baca; 4 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends. Mr. Legarreta was preceded in death by his parents, Eulalio and Luz Legarreta; and brother, Kiki Legarreta. Ventura was a top notch soldier and outdoorsman. He was a very honest and dependable man as well as an excellent father and grandfather who was loved by all and will be missed by all. LUCERO -- Joe Lucero was born July 12, 1932 in Algodones, New Mexico. A resident of San Ysidro, New Mexico since 1974, he passed away Monday, August 18, 2008 at the age of 76. Joe enjoyed fishing, hauling wood for the fireplace, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Flora Lucero; his son, Gilbert; grandson, Gary; and great-granddaughter, Mariah Grace. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carmen; his children: two sons, Tony Lucero, Albert Lucero and his wife, Esther; four daughters, Ruby Lucero, Rose Mary Gonzales and her husband, Sammy, Virginia Gallegos and her husband, Robert, Elizabeth Baker and her husband, Richard; his brother, Bonifacio H. Lucero; his sister, Edwina Montoya; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; thirteen god children, as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. MARTINEZ -- Curtis Gordon Martinez, 52, a resident and member of Laguna Pueblo, NM passed away on August 19, 2008. MCINTOSH -- Burns Geddes "Geddy" McIntosh, Jr., born May 8, 1927, died peacefully on August 19, 2008 with his family by his side. He was a life-long resident of Albuquerque. He graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in 1944 and Northwestern University (Chicago) in 1949. In 1945, Geddy enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Jeanne Marchand in June 1954 and enjoyed over 54 years of marriage. Geddy was preceded in death by his parents, Burns G. McIntosh Sr. and Ruth Tarvin McIntosh; and his two sisters, Maryann McIntosh and Kathryn Ely. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; and his three daughters, Lori Ehlers, Teri Waite and Bonni Capobianco. He is also survived by sons-in-law, Jeff Waite and John Capobianco; and his grandchildren, Trevor and Hayden Waite and Jessie and Katie Ehlers. Additionally, he is survived by his nephews, nieces and many friends who loved him. Prior to starting his own business, McIntosh Mortgage Exchange, which he ran for 35 years, Geddy was a credit manager for several local businesses and was a restaurant manager in Philadelphia and New York City. He was an avid sports fan especially baseball. He was a batboy for the St. Louis Cardinals farm team. His love of baseball continued with his coaching of Little League Baseball for 37 years. Geddy also enjoyed UNM men's and women's basketball games. He was a 70 year member of First United Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and on various committees. He especially liked the musical presentations. Geddy was a member of the Masons, Shriners and served as treasurer for Job's Daughters when his daughters belonged. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church at 215 Locust NE followed by a reception at the church. A private burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery. NOLASCO -- Ramona Nolasco, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, born in San Marcial on February 18, 1931, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Rudy Nolasco, Sr.; sons, Rudy Nolasco, Jr. and wife, Sylvia A. and Randy Nolasco and wife, Kathy A.; grandchildren, Aleece, Camille and Rudy V. Nolasco, LeShon and Terren Ingram; sister, Marian Romero; niece, Rosanne Ortiz and husband, Freddie. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Ingram. Ramona was a devoted member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and was active in the Woman's Guild. Ramona was a creative artist, loving wife, mother and grandmother. PATRICK -- Barry Dave Patrick December 13, 1959 - August 10, 2008 Barry Dave Patrick, born in Floydada, TX and raised in Quitaque, TX, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 in Queen Creek, AZ. During his life, he lived in Albuquerque, NM working on the new Intel Fab in Rio Rancho, then moved throughout the United States and overseas to Malaysia and Ireland. Barry left behind many friends and family from our local Albuquerque area, especially Kristina Pulliam, Norma, Johnny and Carrie Gibbs and son, Jon Dillon Patrick. Barry's other children, which he also was so proud of are Russell and Chance Patrick of Amarillo, TX and Nashee and Danielle Patrick of Lubbock, TX. He will be laid to rest at his hometown of Quitaque, TX on August 23, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Quitaque. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family and friends.

SCHUCHARDT -- Richard Dean Schuchardt, 81, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 17 years, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2008. Richard was born September 19, 1926 the son of Leopold and Alice Everding Schuchardt in Media, PA. He had been a computer programming engineer with the Unisys Corp. before he retired. Richard is survived by his wife, Joanne Schuchardt of Albuquerque; four children, Anne Ott and husband Raymond, Jr. of Kentucky, Christine Smith and husband Peter of Pennsylvania, Patricia Lahrheim and husband David of New Jersey, and Richard Dean Schuchardt, Jr. of Virginia; five grandchildren; and one brother, Lee Schuchardt and wife Grace of North Carolina. STEELE -- Shauna Steele, longtime resident of Albuquerque, began her next great adventure on August 14, 2008. She is survived by many; friends who became family and family that she loved to sing, dance, and fish with. Shauna spent her work life with the State of New Mexico, doing outreach and marketing for the Human Services departments. She found "terrible beauty" in being a four time breast cancer survivor, and took pride in being honored with the Anita Salas Volunteer award. A Celebration of Shauna's remarkable life, spirit, and accomplishments will be held Friday, August 22, 2008 at 4 p.m., in one of her favorite places to sit, the backyard of Dianne and Steve Griego at 1712 Camino de la Sierra NE. East on Indian School through the Tramway intersection, up the hill and then left on Camino. The house is at the end of the street on the right. VALENCIA -- (Leila) C. Valencia, 87, the Matriarch of the Valencia family, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on August 19, 2008, at home with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Valencia is survived by her children, Carmen Valencia, Rosanna Valencia, Carolyn Archuleta, Frank Valencia and wife, Roberta, Roberta Sanchez and husband, Ernest; 15 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many Godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Valencia was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Pablita Chacon; her husband, Bernard (Bennie); her son, Benny Jr.; her granddaughters, Bernadette Lucero and Lynette Valencia; her sisters, Susan Cerrato, JoAnn Pena and Lila Apodaca. Mrs. Valencia was a member of the Catholic Church and loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and other activities. Her family celebrated her birthday, every year,with a matanza.
