SHAFER -- James W. "Jim" Shafer was born March 30, 1938 in Dayton, OH and died July 16, 2008. He was the son of the late Roy and Hazel Border Shafer. He is survived by his wife, Amy, whom he married June 20, 1964; daughter, Sarah, of Albuquerque; brothers, Jack and Don; sister, Helen; several nieces and nephews in Ohio. He was a Lutheran by faith. Jim was a Navy veteran. Jim earned a Masters degree from Wright State University in Dayton, OH. He moved to New Mexico in 1978. Jim retired as an independent broker with LPL in 2004. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary Westside Chapel.
