FRENCH -- Clifford Corley French, 43, who constantly ingratiated others with his mirth, died early Thursday, May 1, 2008, after a long struggle with ill health. He never met a stranger. He had the tenacity to do all tasks well and was currently working on a degree in computer science. A lifelong Episcopalian, he had just transferred back to St. John's Cathedral in Albuquerque, NM from St. Paul in Waxahachie, TX. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Alice Gilliland French of Albuquerque, NM; father, Richard Wilson French and wife, Nelda of Corpus Christi, TX; grandmother, Wilma Maureen Wilson French of Hot Springs, AK; two sisters, Karla Lynn French Messick of Albuquerque and Kathryn Lucille French King of Austin, TX; four nieces, Karlyn Michaele Crafton, Sarah Elizabeth Brewer, Angel K. Messick and Katrina Alicia Yarborough; nephew, James Kleberg Yarborough; and six great-nieces and nephews. HERNANDEZ -- Thomas L. Hernandez, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, entered into eternal life on Monday, May 5, 2008. Thomas enjoyed the love of music, which included playing the drums and singing. He was employed by APS for 17 years and loved by all of the teachers and children at Chaparral Elementary School. He was preceded in death by his father, Tomas Hernandez. Thomas is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Hernandez; sons, Thomas Ricardo Hernandez, Martin P. Hernandez and Gabriel A. Hernandez; extended family: his mother, Manuela Hernandez; brothers, Jose Hernandez and wife Sara, Gavino Hernandez and wife Loretta, Jessie Hernandez and wife Gloria; Mike Hernandez and wife, Carmen, Santos Hernandez and wife, Diane, Louis Hernandez and wife, Linda, Rosilio Hernandez and wife, Brenda; sisters, Mary Hernandez, Rose Hernandez, Romona and Erasmo Campos, Theresa and Barney Barela; grandchildren, Matthew, Martin, Mariah, and Jasmine; many nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. A Rosary will be recited in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. HERRINGTON -- Nancy B. Herrington, 67, passed away on May 1, 2008 after a determined battle against ovarian cancer. She grew up in Ruleville, Mississippi and moved to Albuquerque in the 1960's where she enjoyed the sunshine and big blue sky. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved dog and companion, Chowder. Nancy will be greatly missed by her son Preston (Gay) Herrington, III, of Farmington, NM, daughter Beth (Steven) Sanchez of Albuquerque, and her two precious granddaughters, Sarah and Rachel of Farmington. Nancy was very thankful to all the physicians, nurses, other medical personnel and Department of Senior Affairs staff who provided excellent compassionate care and services. Per Nancy's request, no memorial services will be held. In keeping with her love for all dogs, the family asks that any donations be made to the Albuquerque Humane Association of New Mexico (255-5523).

HUDSON -- Henry X. Hudson. Brother Henry X. Hudson Muhammad, 57 years old, passed away on April 22, 2008 due to a sudden illness. Henry Hudson was the director of New Horizon Counseling Inc. Brother Henry X was community minded, and was always willing to reach out to those that were in need. He truly believed that "a mind was a terrible thing to waste." He will be missed, but his memories will live on in the hearts of all that knew him. Services were held on April 30, 2008. KOEHLER -- Charles A. Koehler, was born in Deming, in the territory of New Mexico, on June 14, 1910, and passed away, May 3, 2008, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, brother, and son-in-law, Richard Emmel. Charles is survived by his wife of 77 years, Dorothy Koehler, two daughters, Pauline Emmel, and Leone (Bill) Peters, of Albuquerque, NM; five granddaughters, Phyllis (Modesto) Sanchez, Debbie Mercer, both of Edgewood, NM, Lynn (Paddy) Downey of Hobbs, NM, Carolyn (Talal) Mourad of Huntsville, AL, Jeanette (Bill) Slichenmyer of Sherborn, MA; 10 great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Nathan Lloyd, Sahn DeVel Madrid, Jennifer Smith, Sean and William Downey, Sarah Owens, Julia Mourad, and Danielle and Kurt Slichenmyer; five great-great-grandchildren, Derek, Desiree, and Maria Madrid, Madison Smith, and James Owens. As a child, Charles' family moved to Texas, where he remained until young adulthood. He then moved to Colorado, where he met Dorothy Moss. She moved back to Oklahoma, but at Christmas time that year, Charles went after her, and they married on December 27, 1930, in Woodward, OK; he then took his bride back to Colorado, where they farmed for 15 years. Leaving their farms, they moved their young family to Albuquerque, where they bought and ran an apartment house. His hobbies included fishing at Elephant Butte, rock hounding, and jewelry making. He also loved square dancing, and was a beekeeper for many years. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 2:00 PM, at Daniels Family Funeral Services- Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, with a gathering following in his honor in the Celebration of Life Reception Room. Interment will be scheduled for a later date, at Fairview Cemetery, in Yellow Jacket, Colorado. LISZEWSKI -- Velma Neil Knapp Petot Liszewski, 75, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 4, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. "Velm" and also known as "Mimi" to her siblings, was born near Enid, OK on February 7, 1933. She was raised by her loving mother, Cassie and grew up in several states during her younger years to include Illinois, Arkansas and Crosstown, MO, where she met and married Roland Petot. They set roots in New Athens, IL. She raised her children and later married Walter Liszewski of Nashville, IL. Velma finished beauty school and became a licensed beautician in 1971, owning her own shop for many years. (The country ladies never looked so good.she had quite the following!) She was a devout Catholic, church volunteer, homemaker, proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to write and has left her family some wonderful memories within her journals. She enjoyed fishing at the Lake of Egypt, quilting, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Amongst her favorite pastimes was traveling, exploring and hiking the trails! She has traversed the paths of the National Parks of California, Tennessee, Wyoming, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Velma lived a full life, dedicated to family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her seven children and their families, Roger Petot and wife, Jenny, Kathy Swyear and husband, Terry, Debbie Meinhardt and husband, Gary, Bob Petot and wife, Cindy, Linda Petot, Roland Petot and wife, Sandy, and Clara LaPlante and husband, Jon; along with her 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers, William Knapp and wife, Norma and Denny Knapp and wife, Beverly; sister, Mavis Price; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her including her beloved dog, Maggie. Rosary will be held Friday, May 9, 2008, 9:00 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, MO. Mass follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Posen, IL. STERLING -- Enid, 65, resident of Cedar Crest, went home to her Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2008. Enid was an active member of Mountainside United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing with the choir. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Karen Caudill, Dana Christensen, and Paul Thomas; grandchildren Sarah, Philip, Toria, Jonah, Noelle, and William; and brother, Donald Sterling and wife, Sue. STOUT -- Ted A. Stout, 66, of Albuquerque, NM., went home to our Lord on May 2, 2008, after a lengthy illness. He was born March 17, 1942, in Logansport, IN. to John M. Stout and Ruth Ray Stout. Ted was married to Bonnie Little in Clifton, Colorado April 22,1962. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; a son, Corey Stout and wife, Bonita Baker, of Albuquerque; daughter, Deana Hoover and her husband, Michael, of Rio Rancho; grandchildren, Mackenzie Stout, Alison Lucero, Kaitlyn and Garrick Anderson; brothers, Robert Stout and wife, Kay, John H. Stout and wife, Jane, all of Grand Junction, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Lynne Dickens and husband, John, of Belen. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Cameron Anderson. Ted grew up on a peach ranch in Clifton, CO. where the employees referred to him as "Cotton Top". He graduated from Central High School in 1961, went on to Casper Junior College, Casper, Wyoming, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. He came to Albuquerque in 1976 to be manager for a printing company. He owned and operated a prepress business for several years. He then became a much loved and respected department head and teacher of Commercial Printing at TVI and when he retired because of his illness, he was employed at Intel Corp. where he trained new hires and wrote training manuals for Fab 9. Ted was a creative artist both for enjoyment and in the business field. He loved and enjoyed his family, teaching, and travel. Cremation has occurred and his Memorial Service "Celebration of Life", will be held Thursday May 8, 2008, in the garden he designed for his son and daughter-in-law. For location call 249-6772.
