CLINE -- Joyce L. Cline, loving mother and friend, passed away quietly in her sleep April 9, 2008. She was born on May 14, 1935, in Ferndale, Michigan, sixth of seven children. She is survived by her two sons, Tom Cline, Bill Cline and wife, Sharon; sister, Maxine; and brothers, Wesley and Douglas. She had two loves in life, her church and all the kids she took care of over the years. Memorial to be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008, at 4:00 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church. COLE -- Ruth Joan Cole, 75, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008. She was born February 14, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa. She spent many years of her life teaching English to school children of all ages. Ruth was an active Elks Lady with the Elks Lodge #461. Her passions included her family, crafts, and her beloved cats. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Brown; grandchildren, Mark Brown, Ronald and Michael Burns all of Lakewood, CO and one great granddaughter Zoe Brown of Illinois. CONTI -- Joseph Stephen Conti, 78, passed away, Friday, April 11, 2008. He was born June 2, 1929 in New York City, a son of Angelo and Antoinette Conti. He married Mildred Gutierrez, October 9, 1954 in New York City. Survivors include his wife of Albuquerque, His son, Mark and Wife Linda also of Albuquerque; four sisters, all of New York City. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 7:00 PM at French Mortuary, 9300 Golf Course Rd. CONTRERAS -- Laureano "Larry" Contreras, age 75, a beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather and a lifelong resident of New Mexico, was born in Scholle, NM on January 14, 1933, to the late Agripina and Laureano Contreras, Sr. He passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2008, embraced by his loving family. He is survived by Ginger Contreras, his loving wife of 54 years; his devoted children, Kathy Perea and husband, Tony Perea, and Kent Contreras and wife, Michelle, all of Albuquerque. His grand- children, Michael, Paul, Kevin and wife, Sabrina Perea, and Carly and Matthew Contreras are also of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his sisters, Ernestine, Florence, and Vivian; and his brother, Eloy. He was preceded in his passing by his brother, Luvin; and his sister, Virginia, all of New Mexico. Larry served in the US Navy, graduated from the University of NM, and worked for the State of NM for 33 years as the Chief of Data Processing for the Employment Security Commission and the ESC credit union. Upon his retirement of 26 years, his days were filled with family and his passion, traveling the entire United States with his soul mate Ginger and their companion 'Cody'. A Memorial Service celebrating Larry's life was held at French's Mortuary on April 8, 2008. After a Rosary and Mass held at St Bernadette Shrine, he was laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM on April 9, 2008. CORWIN -- Ellera Judson "Cork" Corwin, Our honored and much beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died on April 8, 2008. He is survived by his spouse, Beatrice Janet Stevenson Corwin; his children, Kathleen Annette Corwin, Linda Louise Corwin, Steven Kim Corwin and wife, Joanne; grandchildren, Derek Luthy and wife, Jenny; and their children, Natalie and Parker, Cory Corwin, BoMee Corwin, Micah Corwin, Mariah Corwin, Asia Corwin; his sister, Betty "Penny" Eastvold; brother-in law; sisters-in -law; nieces, nephews, and friends. Ellera Corwin retired from Sandia Laboratories. He was also a World War II veteran, a Purple Heart recipient, and a Prisoner of War in Germany's Stalag Luft III, participating in the events of the "Great Escape" in that prison camp. DANIELS -- Billie Daniels, 82, of Dimmitt, passed away on April 3, 2008, in Dimmitt. Graveside Services will be held in Quay Cemetery located south of Tucumcari , NM on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. (Mountain Standard Time) with Tom Mullins officiating. Local arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, TX Billie was born on Oct. 14, 1925, in Monte Vista, CO to Austin and Daisy McFall. She grew up in New Mexico where she attended school. She was a homemaker most of her adult life and moved to Dimmitt, TX in 1999. She was a member of the Abundant Life Family Church in Dimmitt. She is survived by two sons, Tom Mullins of Dimmitt and Patrick Mullins of Wenatchee, Washington; two daughters, Donna Wilson of Hereford and Jackie Green of Amarillo; three brothers, Fredo and Norman McFall both of Albuquerque, NM, and Nelson McFall of Moriarty, NM; three sisters, Alice Calkins and Aimee Buckmaster, both of Oregon, and Hedy Fox of Albuquerque, NM; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. DAVENPORT -- Mary "Shug" Winter Davenport, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, slipped away quietly in her sleep to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, April 9, 2008. She is survived by her daughters, Diane W. Dixon and Donna G Alsobrooks (Ron Hatley); six grandchildren, Marc (Beth), Danny, Shaun (Monica), Sheri (Andrew), Carrissa (Michael), Ian, Aaron; seven great-grandchildren, Nathan, Savannah, Michael, Matthew, Morgan, Sienna, Maddox; stepsons, Earnest, Robert, and Doug. She was preceded in death by her first husband, "Parson" Bill Winter; and Rev. Warren W. Davenport. DAVIS -- Col. Andrew S. Davis, USAF (ret) passed away November 3, 2007 as a result of complications due to an automobile accident. He was born in Detroit, MI, February 27, 1920, the third of four children to Sarah and Andrew Davis. He graduated from high school at age 15. Andy was a very industrious fellow and helped support his family in a variety of ways. He was rural route salesman for Green's Cleaners visiting nine towns a week. He trapped muskrats and sold the furs to a local furrier. He worked in the family landscaping business and also at General Motors as a dynamometer mechanic. In addition, he sold his mother's homemade candies to the local businesses. He attended Wayne State University and in 1942, Andy enlisted in the US Air Force pilot program. He was a Command Pilot with over 10,000 hours of military flying time. One retired, Andy attended UNM and Anderson School of Business where he obtained a master's degree in Business Administration. He was a real estate broker from 1970 to his retirement in 2006. Always interested in new experiences, Andy traveled extensively during his air force career and after retirement. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman with a great passion for fishing, hunting and golf. He was an active member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, where he served as usher. Andy was a member of the Masonic Order, Shrine, and Retired Officer's Association. He was a devoted member of his daily coffee club. Andy married Kathleen Ruth Blackwell in 1941 and had two children. He married again to Merry Vargo Carraway in 1970 and this loving union lasted until her death in 1991. Andy is survived by his younger brother, Paul Davis and wife, Elaine, Tucson, AZ; daughter, Gerladine Wilkins and husband, Don, Severn Park, MA; son, Dennis Davis and wife, Helen, Vicques, Puerto Rico, Mike Carraway and wife, Julia, Houston, TX, LTC David Carraway and wife, Jacque, San Antonio, TX, Nancy Aslam, Albuquerque, NM, Martha Chambers and husband, Dewey, Burlingame, CA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Andy led a humble life as a true gentleman, forgiving and slow to anger, with a special glint in his eye and a wonderful smile. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. A Memorial Celebration of Dad's life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Hilton of Albuquerque Garden Room, 1901 University Blvd. NE. DOYLE -- Barbara M. Doyle slipped peacefully away Monday evening, April 7, 2008, at 92 years of age. She was preceded in death by her husband John "Jack" or "Sailor" Doyle, on April 27, 1978. Barbara was born and lived in Dubuque, Iowa, before moving to Albuquerque in March of 2003. She is survived by her son Pat Doyle and his wife Mary of San Diego, CA, three grandchildren, Kate Doyle of Irvine, CA, Capt. Michael Doyle and his wife Capt. Amanda Doyle of Ft. Hood, TX and Tom Doyle of San Diego, CA and her son Rev. Bishop David Doyle and his life partner Dan Kenaley of Albuquerque. Barbara was a much beloved member of the Acorns to Oaks family. DUSSART -- Shirley Ann Dussart, 71, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday, April 5, 2008. Shirley was born April 28, 1936, the daughter of Arthur and Elvira Gasperetti Mattie in Ludlow, Colorado. Shirley came to New Mexico in 1964, and worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1978 until she retired in 1993. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. In her spare time she loved to cook and bake for family and friends, square dance, round dance, and traveled with her loving husband. Shirley and her husband spent their winters in Mesa, AZ. Shirley Dussart was a special person, caring for family and others. Most notably, you could always find her smiling. She's home now; she will be missed dearly by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brothers, Arthur, Albert; and sister, Frances. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, John, of 43 years; sons, Steven (Jayanna) and Kevin, of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Jenny (Tony) Franklin; and half-brothers, Robert (Loretta), Stanley, and Michael; brother-in-law, Charles (Charlene) Dussart, all of Colorado; aunts, Lucy, Clara, and Irene; uncles, Albert and Junior; and other family members. Cremation has taken place with the burial scheduled at a later date at the Catholic Cemetery, Trinidad, CO.
