Shirley Ann Dussart, 71, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday, April 5, 2008. Shirley was born April 28, 1936, the daughter of Arthur and Elvira Gasperetti Mattie in Ludlow, Colorado. Shirley came to New Mexico in 1964, and worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1978 until she retired in 1993. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. In her spare time she loved to cook and bake for family and friends, square dance, round dance, and traveled with her loving husband. Shirley and her husband spent their winters in Mesa, AZ. Shirley Dussart was a special person, caring for family and others. Most notably, you could always find her smiling. She's home now; she will be missed dearly by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brothers, Arthur, Albert; and sister, Frances. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, John, of 43 years; sons, Steven (Jayanna) and Kevin, of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Jenny (Tony) Franklin; and half-brothers, Robert (Loretta), Stanley, and Michael; brother-in-law, Charles (Charlene) Dussart, all of Colorado; aunts, Lucy, Clara, and Irene; uncles, Albert and Junior; and other family members. Cremation has taken place with the burial scheduled at a later date at the Catholic Cemetery, Trinidad, CO. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd. NE, Rio Rancho, NM with Father Rick Zerwas as the celebrant. A reception will follow at the K of C, Eugene Teatum Council 6696, 1020 Veranda Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Incarnation Building Fund, 2309 Monterrey Rd.
