THOMSON -- Florence I. Thomson, 87, of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008, after a prolonged illness. She was born August 25, 1920, in Charles City, IA to the late Marion and Rose Page. She graduated from the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Marshalltown, IA in 1943. She married John D. Thomson on May 19, 1943, in New Orleans, LA. Florence was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Heasty and Esther Murray; a brother, LaVerne Page; her grandson, Colin Larkin-Thomson. She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, John Thomson; three children, Irene Rose Cooper, Robert Thomson, and Greg Thomson, all of Albuquerque; a daughter-in-law, Adrienne Larkin; and three grandsons, David Larkin-Thomson, John and William Thomson; her brother-in law, Wilbur Heasty, and family; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the mortuary on Thursday, April 10, 2008, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Florence's name to the UNM School of Nursing Scholarship Fund, 1 University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM 87131 or the Children's Grief Center of New Mexico PO Box 20218 Albuquerque, NM 87154. TORREZ -- Amelia B. Torrez, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday morning, April 5, 2008. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 7, 2008, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. WESBROOK -- David Wesbrook, a former resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Easter Sunday at his home in Denver. David was retired. He enjoyed his hobbies of motorcycling, flyfishing, stamp collecting, and was a talented woodworker. David is survived by his children; Jen and Chris; his brother, Joe; and his sister, Ann. AJA -- Manuel Allen Aja, Jr, 44, of Albuquerque, passed away April 5, 2008. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Jancula and husband, Louis, of Albuquerque; father, Manuel A. Aja and wife, Joanne, of Fallon, NV; brother, Michael James Aja; and his daughter, Ahjia Thorpe and husband, Aaron, of Missoula, MT; sister, Michele A. Aja and her daughter, Laryssa E. Bitsoih-Aja, of Albuquerque; half-brother, Tony V. Aja his wife, Linda, and their children of Fallon, NV. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008, and Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. on Friday April 11, 2008. AUGUST -- Larry P. August, Jr. 1960 - 2008 Larry P. August, Jr., age 48, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 05, 2008. Larry was a graduate of Belen High School where he was a state champion track and field athlete. After graduation, he went to work for the State of New Mexico with the Children, Youth and Families Department for 19 years and the Department of Corrections for six years. Larry was a gifted musician and a talented artist. He loved motorcycling, the outdoors, animals, and as anyone who knew him remembers, he was the most loyal Dallas Cowboy fan of all time. He was a proud member of the First Mountain Chapter of ABATE and the New Mexico Motorcyclists Rights Organization. Larry was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Renee August and his brother, Brian August. He is survived by his daughters, Rachel August and Alexis August; wife, C.J. August; parents, Rachel and Larry August; sisters, Annette Sandlin and her husband, Ken, Tina Trujillo and her husband, Joseph; and Lisa August. Larry is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and hundreds of dear friends. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, 418 W. Reinken Ave. Larry lived with enthusiasm and love for life. A Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the La Merced Moose Lodge. Larry's brothers and sisters who ride motorcycles are encouraged to attend and join him for his "last ride."
