BASS -- Irene Bass, 96 years of age, was born May 4, 1910. She passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007. She was a resident of Albuquerque for the past eight years. Irene is survived by three daughters, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Those from the local area include daughter, Loyette McDuffie and grandsons, Mike, Marlon, Scott, and Monty McDuffie. Burial will be in Emporia Kansas Friday, January 19th.

CHAMBERS -- Beatryce "Bea" Chambers began her journey to be with the Lord on January 4, 2007. She was married to Marion Chambers for 57 years until his death in August 2004. Bea worked at APS Food Services for nearly 25 years and retired as a cafeteria manager. She is survived by her children Barbara Chambers, John Chambers and his wife Harriett; two granddaughters, Megan Swanson, and Lauren Chambers. As a long time resident of Albuquerque and a member of Sandia Baptist Church, Bea was deeply loved by her family and friends and will truly be missed. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2007 from 3:00 to 5:00 p. m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 22, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel. CHAVEZ -- Ernesto Lionel "Leo" Chavez, age 85, was born November 10, 1921. He went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 after a long illness. Ernesto was born to Francisco and Tomasita Chavez in Cuba, NM. Ernesto Honorably served in U.S. Army during WWII, was a life member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He was married to his wife, Antonia, of almost 61 years and raised a daughter, Adelaida. Ernesto is survived by his wife, Antonia Chavez; daughter, Adelaida Padilla; sister, Lilly Martinez; grandchildren, Timothy Padilla and wife, Marguerite, Carla Glidewell and husband, Shad, Roberta Cohen and husband, Thomas, Susan Padilla-Reina and husband, Michael and Jessica Padilla; great-grandchildren, Lance Padilla and Daniel Masse, Lynnsey and Rhegan Glidewell, Aundria Cohen, and Evan Reina; sisters-in-law, Percilla Christilaw, Albertina Carabajal and husband, Gilberto; numerous nieces and nephews whom all loved and admired him. He will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Rosary will be held on Monday, January 15, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, New Mexico as well as a Funeral Mass which will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. COFFEY -- Charles E. Coffey, age 79 and a resident of Albuquerque for 48 years died Friday January 12, 2007 following an illness. Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife of 54 years Sue Coffey; one daughter Cheryl Coffey; one son Wayne Coffey and his wife Marilyn all of Albuquerque; two grandchildren Douglas and Kyle Coffey; one brother Ralph Coffey and his wife Wanda of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister-in-law Mary E. Nelson and her husband Bill of Bothell, WA; and several nieces and nephews. Charles was a Navy Veteran and a member of Holiday Bowl Senior Men's Bowling League. A viewing and visitation will be held Monday January 15, 2007 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 16, 2007 in the Main Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors with Pastor Alan Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made to Presbyterian Hospice or the New Mexico Cancer Center. CORDOVA -- David J. Cordova - "Mr. C", "Dave the Barber" and "Boss", was born on March 10, 1930 in Van Houton, NM. He passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2007. David was raised in Dawson, NM and served Honorably in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his five children, Rosemarie G. Cordova and her son, David, Margaret J. Allen and her husband, Stan; her daughters, Jeanikra and Jeanine; sons, Kody, Dru, Eugene A. Cordova and his daughter, Joee, Joseph P. Cordova and his wife, Theresa and their sons, Joshua, Aaron and daughter, Tera, Bernard C. Cordova and his wife ,Vaughn and their daughters, Tausha, Shaelynn, D'Aundra, and Kendra; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Josie Cadava and husband, Nelson of Blanco, NM, Rosie Casias and husband, Orlando of Lemon Grove, CA, Alice Bryan of South Fulton, TN; brother, John Cordova of Rio Rancho, NM; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. David owned and operated the Campus Barber Shop with his son, Bernard. He barbered for 55 years in Albuquerque. David was loved by many, despised by a few, and respected by all. His family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of his family, friends and loved ones who were so supportive to him in his last days. A special thank you to Presbyterian Hospice Nurse, Linda Krinsky. To honor David's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. DISHUCK -- Norma Dishuck, 79, passed on Monday, January 8, 2007 in Aurora, CO. Norma moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1950 and resided here for 50 years prior to moving to Colorado. She worked as a commercial artist where she did the artwork for several Albuquerque Companies. Her drawings were published in New Mexico newspapers and magazines on a regular basis. Surviving Norma is her son, Steve Dishuck; daughter-in-law, Sharon Dishuck; grandchildren, Brian and Pamela Dishuck and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Dishuck, all of Colorado. A private Service was held on January 11, 2007 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM.
