PEREZ -- John C. Perez went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2007 at the age of 16. John was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and his uncle, Richard Lopez. He is survived by his father, Sergio Perez Sr., and his mother, Geraldine P. Lopez. He is also survived by his son, Isaiah Richard Perez; his siblings, Sergio Perez Jr., Daniel Lopez, Fabian Lopez, and Adrian Lopez; along with his grandparents, Lucy Lopez and Adalberto and Margarita Perez. He will be missed by all. Visitations will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services-Garcia Mortuary. Final visitations will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007 between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church. PFAFF -- Charlotte E. Pfaff, 89, died December 23, 2007. Born at the family farm near Amsterdam, Idaho she moved to New Mexico in 1942 residing in Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Albuquerque, Pajarito Village and Corrales. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. and Celeste R. (Sligar) Human, husband Daniel Pfaff, daughter Barbara E. Pfaff, and granddaughter Ashlee G. Pfaff. She is survived by her sons Norman Pfaff (Janice), and Richard Pfaff (Jan), five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her family appreciates the gracious care she received from the staff of the memory unit at Sandia Springs Senior Living Community and the services of SolAmor Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by Direct Cremation & Burial Services. A memorial service will scheduled after the holidays. REYNOLDS -- James Edward, 39, born in Cocoa Beach, Florida, went home to the Lord on Saturday, December 22, 2007, after a brief illness. James is survived, by his loving wife of seven years, Elizabeth and his precious 5 year old, Cody James; his sister, Samantha Cortez; a brother, Mark Dillion and his wife, Julie, all of Albuquerque. His mother and father-in-law, Darlene and Charlie Rice; sister-in-laws, Debbie Monahan and family, Diana Sandoval, husband Kevin and family, all from Denver,Colorado; a brother-in-law, Kurt Poole and his family; and another father-in-law, Charles Stanley Poole; and an extended family that included Ivan and Boyana Martinez; Kevin Adams and his wife, Sandy; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. James was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan and was rejoicing in their great year. He was a committed member of the Believers Center of Albuquerque. He loved and enjoyed serving this church. He was also employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a city mail carrier. A special thank you to Pastor John Ross of Believers Center, for his wisdom and dedication. Thanks to those who came and visited James and for all the prayers and support. James is loved and will be greatly missed. SAAM -- Sharron Lucille Saam, 63, a resident of Edgewood, NM and devoted French teacher at Moriarty High School, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2007. She is survived by her children Mike Saam, Zachary Saam, and Melanie Pitsch; her grandchildren Tiffany, Nick, Kristi, Wyatt, and Logan; and her sister Ernestine Nunes; and the rest of her loving family. Friends are welcome at Memorial services to be held on Thursday, December 27 at 11:00am at French Mortuary at 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, NM. SALAZAR -- Emilio Salazar, 77, died December 23, 2007 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Jane Salazar; children, Elizabeth Austin and husband Bob, Dr. John A. Salazar and wife, Marcia, Robert T. Salazar and wife, Shauna, Steve G. Salazar and wife, Amy, and Richard G. Salazar and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, John Austin and wife, Tonya, Michelle Austin, Kenneth Salazar and wife, Amy, Brian Salazar, Andrew Salazar, Kristin Salazar, Jordan Salazar, Kyla Salazar, and Zoe Salazar, and great granddaughter, Madelyn. Emilio also has three siblings surviving him, Adelina Monseur, Benito Salazar, Charles Salazar. Mr. Salazar was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Juanita Salazar and his brothers Raymond and Alex Salazar. Emilio served his country in the US Air Force and retired from the U S Postal Service after 30 years. He dedicated his life to his family especially his wife, children and grandchildren who he dearly loved. SENA -- Manuel D. "Gordo" Sena passed away at the age of 84 on December 21, 2007 after battling lung cancer. He was born to Pablo and Josefa Sena in Pojoaque,NM. Gordo served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was S FE County Sheriff in the 1950's and as he would say "I was the last Republican Sheriff in S Fe". Retired from the US Marshall's office. He is survived by his sister, Mary Quintana; wife, Nellie and her children, Stephanie, Rick and Michelle Aragon and Nicole Jackson and husband, Neal; Gordo's children, Marquita, John and his wife, Geneva, Frank and wife, Diane and Stephanie and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Cenissa, Ursula, Melisaa, Anthony, Natalie, Abby, Jordan and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Brennan and Alyssa; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation will take place. Rosary will be at Berardinelli Funeral Home in Santa Fe on December 28, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.. Mass will be Saturday, December 29, 2007 in Pojoaque, NM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 10:00 a.m.

STARR -- Adam Starr, age 21, passed away at the University of New Mexico Medical Center on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, following an unexpected and sudden illness. He was born August 4, 1986 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Boris and Heloisa Starr. He was currently a junior at UNM studying Bio-Chemistry as a pre-medical student. Adam was very active in his community and his Church. He participated in, chaperoned, and led many of the the Queen of Heaven Parish youth group activities and trips. He loved and was loved by many, many friends and had a huge impact on their lives and of those of his family. His examples of love and courage will be remembered forever by those that knew him and whom he touched. Adam is survived by his parents, Boris and Heloisa Starr; his sister and her husband, Leila and Jon Lillywhite; his grandparents, Boris and Teresa Starr; and his aunt and uncle, Teresa and Gary Gerew. THORNTON -- Howard Wayne Thornton, age 60, of Albuquerque died Wednesday, December 19, 2007, after a 12-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Betty Thornton of Albuquerque; by his daughter and son-in-law, Jill Elizabeth Corbeille and Wayne Corbeille of Las Vegas, NV; by his two brothers, Donnie Earnest of Sacramento, CA, and Richard Earnest of Butner, NC; and by his sister, Fran Earnest Bratton of Sacramento, CA. Wayne was born in Wewoka, OK, and graduated from Lovington High School, Lovington, NM, in 1965. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era aboard a nuclear fast-attack submarine, and was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. After the Navy Wayne attended Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR, and graduated with a Bachelor of Forestry degree in 1974. He then attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ, on a fellowship and received a Master's of Science in Forestry in 1975. His career with the US Forest Service spanned over a 34-year period. Wayne's various jobs included: Wildland Firefighter Crew Foreman; Helicopter-Attack Foreman; Recreation & Lands Staff; Silviculturist; District Ranger, National Wilderness Legislation Coordinator; Legislative Fellow to Senator Pete V. Domenici; Forest Supervisor; and Regional Director of Lands & Minerals for New Mexico and Arizona. He worked on the Siuslaw NF in OR; the Coconino NF in AZ; the Cibola NF in NM; Washington, DC; the Plumas NF in CA; and the Regional Office in Albuquerque. While with the U.S. Forest Service he earned another Master's Degree in 1981 in Natural Resource Economics at Michigan State University. Wayne loved his work with the Forest Service, and was particularly proud of his special one-year Forest Service assignment with Senator Pete Domenici; his participation as Forest Service team leader to acquire the Baca Ranch Land and cooperation with Congress to manage the Valles Caldera National Preserve - the unique volcanic caldera in Northern New Mexico; and serving as lead field negotiator for the Forest Service for settlements of land claims by the Pueblo of Sandia and the Pueblo of San Ildefonso. Wayne devotedly practiced his faith and always lived his life to the fullest - an active church member teaching Bible study to adults and children, serving as a Deacon, and participating in many other church-related activities. He was an avid mountain bike and road bike racer; loved to kayak, fish, hike and camp; and kept up with his rock climbing at the Stone Age Climbing Gym until the last few months of his life. He is also the author and illustrator of a published children's folktale entitled, "A Cat Named Fish and a Fish Named Cat." A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper Dr., NE. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation, 4901 Lang Ave., NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. WYCHE -- James Bryce Wyche, (J.B.) affectionately known as "Jay-Pa" after his grandchildren were born, quietly passed away on December 25, 2007, surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. James was born in Roswell, NM on January 31, 1917 to Seth and Jessie Wyche and was the oldest of six children. J.B moved from Roswell at age eight with his family to homestead land in Pie Town, NM. In early 1940 he moved with his new bride to Albuquerque, NM where he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. In 1949 he went to work for the Albuquerque Publishing Company. He retired in 1986, after 37 years but continued to work for APC as a consultant. At age 75, J.B. followed his dream of moving back to the country and built a home in Stanley, NM. J.B. was a lifetime member of the NRA and North American Hunting Club; he was also an avid hunter and expert marksman. Jay is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nelline, his two children Fred and his wife Monica and Martha and her husband Dennis, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one sister Elizabeth Bratcher. A Viewing will be held Thursday, December 27, 2006 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Moriarty, NM from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Stanley Union Church; Pastor Richard Hyman, Pastor Carl Dahl and Pastor David Mitchell will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanley Cemetery in Stanley, NM. Pallbearers are Chad Sullins, Glen Sullins, Keith Sullins, Kelly Wilson, Joe Lopez and Walter Garfield.
