GARZA -- Daniel Garza Jr., 61, passed away December 24, 2007. He was born on February 18, 1946, to Daniel and Tanis Garza in Hobbs, NM. Daniel has been a resident of Albuquerque for 28 years. He was co-owner of Garza and Garza Auto body with his cousin, Pete Garza, since 1985. Daniel's passions in life were his loving wife, children, and his Corvettes. Daniel was a member of the New Mexico Corvette Association. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Karen-Lynn Fiato; his mother, Tanis Garza of Albuquerque; children, Ryan Bowman and Madelynn Garza, both of Albuquerque; grandson, Robert Bowman of Albuquerque; sisters, Christine Whittle and husband, Joe of WA, Geneva Acosta and husband, Joe of Hobbs, NM, and Lydia Moyers of TX; father-in-law, Vincent Fiato of Truth or Consequences; cousins, Pete and Adam Garza; and numerous other relatives and close friends. Services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the NE Heights Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. GERHARDT -- Shirley E. Gerhardt, 77 of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007. She was born on September 22, 1930 in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late Charles and Louise Froelick. She married Richard "Dick" C. Gerhardt and lived the life of an Air Force officer's wife following him wherever his career took him. He preceded her in death in 2005. Also preceding Shirley in death was her oldest son, Richard J. Gerhardt. She is survived by her youngest son, Douglas Gerhardt of Albuquerque. A private funeral service was held on December 26, 2007. GINN -- Ronald Paul Ginn left this world on December 20, 2007. He was born March 25, 1959 to James and Rose Ginn, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald and a sister, Rose Ann. He is survived by his son, Austin Ginn; brother, Larry Ginn; niece, Candice Cantu and spouse, Mateo, their children, Lee, April, Tao and Shantee Cantu; niece, Tasha Hamilton and spouse, Ronnie, their children, Rebecca, Isaiah and Elijah Hamilton; niece, Monique Rogers and her children, Lucretia and Isabelle Price; beloved partner and companion, Carol Monette; best friend, Mike Leininger; friend and mentor, Brian Garrison; his dog, Bullit; and many, many friends of Bill W. Ron was a quiet, gentle man who touched the lives of many people. He never hesitated to help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed. GOODGION -- Janice Goodgion, 69, resident of Albuquerque since 1965, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 49 1/2 years, Overton "Odie" Goodgion; daughters, Robbie Schamp and husband, Greg of Scottsdale, AZ, Suzie Goodgion of Albuquerque, Debbie Chavez of Albuquerque; son, Eddie Goodgion of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Mary Brumbaugh and husband, Dick, of Glendora, CA, Maxine Nolte and husband, Ronnie, of Wilson, TX, Paula Parson and partner, Debbie Miller, of St. Louis, MO, Terrie Bennett and partner, Renae Phillips, of Lubbock, TX; grandsons, Nick, Alex, Josh and Aaron Chavez; and several other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. and Eunice Ayers; and brother, Robert J. Ayers. Janice was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Twosom Sunday School Class in Albuquerque. She worked as a Christian Educator at various churches in Albuquerque until retirement. She was very active in the Fellowship of Christian Educators in New Mexico. Janice loved to garden, travel and care for her grandsons. The family would like to thank all the friends who have shown support through cards and prayers over the past four years of her battle with breast cancer. GOTTI -- Richard James Gotti, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, December 24, 2007, of natural causes. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene M. Gotti; children, Dr. Phyllis Floyd Nelson and husband, Eric; Patrina D. Smith and husband, Randall, and their daughter, Allison; Paul R. Gotti and wife, Stacy, and their daughter, Carlee. Mr. Gotti volunteered for World War II and served in Europe as a Combat Medic with the 11th Armored Division, he was honored with the Silver Star medal. Mr. Gotti resided in Los Alamos for 46 years before moving to Albuquerque in 1997. He was employed by the University of California Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory. He was a group leader in the accounting department. Mr. Gotti was active in the Los Alamos community having been involved with the founding of the Del Norte Credit Union as a charter member and serving as its first supervisory chairman. He was also involved with the establishment of the Los Alamos Elks Lodge and served as the first Exalted Ruler as well as serving as a trustee for 5 years, a chaplain one year and as ritual coach for 14 years. He served a second term as Exalted Ruler in 1994/1995. Mr. Gotti also served as a board member and treasurer of the Timber Ridge Home Owners Association for seven years. While employed by the university, Mr. Gotti was a member of the International Systems and Procedures Association. GURULE -- Bertha E. Gurule went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2007 at the age of 74. She was born on July 31, 1933, to Benigno and Raquel Chavez in Vallecitos, New Mexico. Bertha was a very sharing and creative woman who enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Gurule and her daughter, Rebecca Gurule. Bertha is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank B. Gurule, her 11 children; Arnold Gurule, Eileen Johnson and husband, Robert, Frank E. Gurule, Daniel Gurule, John Gurule and wife, Blanca, Rosalie Salgado and husband, Juan, Rick Gurule, Carol Gurule, Paul Gurule and wife, Cissi, Elizabeth Gurule, and David R. Gurule. She is also survived by her siblings; Cristobal Chavez and wife, Julie, Charlotte Martinez and husband, Lorenzo and Tillie Sandoval and husband, Don; along with her 31 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all. HANN -- Martha Jane Underwood Hann "God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away, and although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay." Martha Jane Underwood Hann, 80, known to almost all as "Marty", took her journey into God's arms on December 20, 2007. She was born June 7, 1927 in Crooksville, Ohio and was raised as an only child and grandchild. Her parents, Mary Jane Underwood and Roy Underwood and her daughter, Mary Lynn Hann Baldwin Williams, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Jane Hann Davalos; her granddaughters, Martha Jane Baldwin and her husband, Dr. Ivan Ortiz, Sarah Baldwin, and grandson, Keith Baldwin, as well as grandsons, James-Vincent Davalos, Marcus Davalos and their father Ruben Davalos. She was also great grandmother to Ivan Ortiz Jr. and Andres Ortiz. Marty came to Albuquerque in 1948, where she became an avid gardener and master bridge player. She was one of the first members of the Rose Society of Albuquerque. She was a gourmet cook, loved to entertain, had a quick wit, was well read and loved to start a lively conversation on a variety of topics. She was known for collecting antiques, seamstress abilities, needlepoint, as well as being involved in the swimming activities of her daughters. She was one of the first members of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. Her well known laugh will be missed by her special friends John Gill, Kay Sumpter, and Liz Schlessinger and individual thanks to Bettie Rodriguez, a special angel who helped her to keep her independence. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held December 27, 2007, 11:00 am, at St. Johns United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE.

HOWARD -- Robert D. Howard, 78, of Peralta, left this earthly life to enter Heaven's gates with Jesus on the afternoon of December 22, 2007. Bob - man of God, husband, dad, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, cousin, friend - and now victor because of Jesus! He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Ann "Pat" Howard; daughter, Melinda Howard-Pacheco and husband, Peter; son, Dwaine Howard; grandchildren, Brandon and Stephen Klein, Kasarah, Shayla and Robert Howard, Jesse Pacheco; siblings, Floyd Howard, Norma Jean Holle, Mary Goodnight, Virginia (Carolyn) Archer and husband, John, David Howard and Ruthie Cook; brothers-in-law, Bob Foehner and Scott DeVore; sisters-in-law, Debbie Mitchell, Sue DeVore; and numerous other family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by, parents, Robbie Lee and Tressa Boatright Howard; sisters, Maxine Roper, Hilda Foehner; brother-in-law, Gordon DeVore; and sister-in-law, Polly Howard. Robert was raised on a farm in Illinois where he learned how to work. He fired steam engines, tested nuclear devices, farmed worms, drove trucks and delivered luggage but specialized in the Masonry business estimating and contract work. He graduated from Carlisle High School in Illinois and served his country in the US Air Force. Through his life, Bob was most proud of his family, most affected by his personal relationship with Jesus Christ - and he wasn't afraid to share about either. His knowledge of Scripture was impressive, especially dealing with prophecy. Bob's legacy wasn't built on riches or fame - it was built on that intimacy with Jesus and his intense love for his family. Integrity, hard work, discipline, sincerity, and a quiet strength were Robert's hallmarks. JACOBSEN -- Marilyn Jacobsen, age 84, on December 22, 2007. Marilyn was a warm-hearted woman who added love and laughter to the lives of everyone around her. She relished her life and its joys, and faced the family's tragedies with grace and love. Marilyn grew up in Minneapolis, raised her family in Red Wing, and moved to Albuquerque in 1975. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth; children, Carol (son, Michael), Sandy (husband, Dean), and Chris (wife, Holly and children, Mara, Erik and Louisa); and her many dear friends and neighbors. Marilyn will be reunited with son, Dennis (and wife, Tina); son, Steven; and parents, Gertie and Halvor Butler. Her children will gather to honor her at the Red Wing Oakwood Cemetery in springtime.
