CALLIHAN -- George Madison Callihan, 83, of Scotts- dale, Arizona passed away on July 24, 2007. Captain US Army Air Corp., WWII and Korean War; he belonged to VFW Post 3591; was a past president of Kiwanis in Albuquerque, NM; Graduated from Oklahoma University with a BS, and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. George is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary Jane Callihan (Scottsdale), and step children: Jon Davenport, Marta and Bill Tompkins, Bryan and Blair Anderson. Four step grandchildren: Kim, David, Daniel,and Jordan. They also have four great grandchildren. George is also survived by five children: Janice Callihan, Cynthia and Robert Gray, Mary Kay (Katy) and Gary Padgett, George Michael Callihan, and Rebecca and Gene Maestas. The mother of these five children, Wanda Callihan (Albuquerque). Ten grand-children: Rachel, Shannon, Sara Joy, Gabriel, Anna Joy, Troy, Shawn, Clay, Sebastian, and Brienna.

COX -- Robert S. Cox, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 26, 2007. He is survived by his son, Ronald A. Cox and wife, Judith; grandchildren, Michael A. Cox and Caren M. Cox and husband, Greg Gallegos; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Desiree Cox, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Margaret G. Cox. Robert was born in Brownwood TX, but he was reared in Las Vegas, NM and moved to Albuquerque in 1950. Mr. Cox served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He was an accountant and retired from Sandia National Labs in 1979. Cremation and private interment have taken place. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, July 31 2007, 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, with Rev. Dewey Johnson, officiating. FUENTES -- Narciso A Fuentes left this life on July 22, 2207. He slipped away quietly, while in the company of his family after suffering the effects of Alzheimer's Disease and sustaining a stroke. He was born in Mora, New Mexico on 3/21/1927, the third son of Guadalupe and Estella Fuentes. He served in the army during WW II and after his discharge graduated from St. Michaels High School in Santa Fe. He was a mail carrier for the US Postal service for 20 years. During this time he was active in the NALC Union serving as Shop Steward and winning many grievances for his fellow carriers. After his retirement, he devoted himself to reading and studying many subjects that interested him. He was predeceased by his parents, his older brothers Fr. Eligius Fuentes OFM and Rumaldo Fuentes, his sisters Emilia Fullilove and Maria Fuentes. He is survived by his brother Raymond Fuentes and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be privately interred at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. GILLETT -- June Gillett died July 27, 2007 of heart disease. She was born near Eaton Rapids, MI on January 11, 1917. She was preceded in death by Ivan, her husband of 66 years. She is survived by her five children, Carolyn McBane of Phoenix, Margy Scales of Colorado Springs, John Gillett of Estancia, Kathie Esquibel of Albuquerque, and Dan Gillett of Sandia Park, as well as 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. As a Navy couple, June and Ivan lived on both coasts, and many places in between, from 1935 to 1956. They settled in Sandia Park where they lived for the next 46 years. June enjoyed gardening, birding, walking and observing and enjoying nature. She was a voracious reader of non-fiction, and took delight in the beauty of poetry and the written and spoken word. GOFF -- K. Charles Goff, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Alice; daughter, Deborah Benninghoff, her husband, Robert; grandson, Michael of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Patricia Beaton; nephew, Gary Beaton; and niece, Nicola Straw and husband, James and their four children, all of Great Britain. He was preceded in death by his son, James Leon Goff in 1978. Charlie was born September 26, 1924 to Dana and Beryl Goff in New Sharon, Maine. His mother was a school teacher and his dad was an engineer helping to build the Panama Canal. At age 19, Charlie enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for three years. His military service took him to France and Germany during WWII. After being wounded (for which he received the Purple Heart), he was assigned to drive on the Red Ball Express delivering gas and ammunition to the front lines. After completing his military service he was offered a commission but preferred to become a Department of Defense civilian in Europe. After meeting his future wife overseas, he decided to stay in Europe to get married and continue working for the Department of Defense, first in the transportation field and later in financial management. His career took him to Germany, England, France and back to Germany. Charlie finally returned to the United States in 1986 to work for the Army Corps of Engineers before retiring in 1987. A Memorial celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, August 1, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. His final resting will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. LOVATO -- Fred H. Lovato of Albuquerque passed away July 27, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Fred is survived by his wife of 42 years Judy P. Lovato; four children Tracy Lovato, Bobby Lovato and his companion Bonnie Medina, Brenda ( Reyes) Martinez and Erica Lovato; grandchildren Renee Lovato, Joey Lovato, Dennette Lovato, Chris Lovato, Devin Lovato, Andrew Martinez, Matthew Martinez, Audrianna Lovato, Marissa Lovato, Isaac Lovato, Freddy Lovato and Kristen Martinez, Jonathan Martinez, Arianna Martinez; great grandchildren Dominic Lovato, Isaiah Cordova and Angelina Cherry; brothers and sisters Lucy Borroel , Bena ( Don ) Miller, Hank ( Beth ) Lovato, Bobby ( Marilyn ) Lobato, Joe ( Geneva ) Lovato, Jimmy ( Billie ) Lovato, and Margaret ( John ) Noriega; mother in - law Alice Medina; brother and sisters in-law JoAnn Kovacev, Mary Fells and Anthony Medina; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was loved by all who knew him. He was always known for the wonderful, and very comical stories he shared. Fred was a very hard working man who was very willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He saw something good in every person, and always gave the benefit of the doubt. Fred loved his country and proudly served in the United States Navy. His one true love in life was his wife and family, always saying "Did I tell you lately that I love you?" A rosary will be held at 7:00pm Tuesday July 31st at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 1800 Martha NE with visitation starting at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday August 1st also at St Bernadette. NOLAND -- Miles Burnell Noland, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007 at his home. He had been a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years, after moving here from Kentucky in 1962. Miles owned auto repair shops in Albuquerque and Belen. He is survived by his wife, Leona Faye Noland; step-children, Paulette Maxwell, Pam and husband, Ernest Velasquez, Alan and wife, Alice Tennison, all of Albuquerque, Patricia Maxwell of Joplin, MO, Pat Barnes of Canyon, TX, and Lorraine Tennison of Fort Collins, CO; 12 grandchildren, Kim Gallegos, Kristy Lopez, Gerred and Chad Woodard, Cody and Savannah Velasquez, Matthew and John Tennison, Randy and David Barnes, and Taylor and Leah Reid; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; one brother, Obie Noland and wife, Betty of Irving, KY; sister-in-law, Faye Noland; cousin, Avis Nelson; and niece, Rhonda Anderson and husband, Larry of Jacksonville, FL. PITTS -- Peggy Joyce Pitts, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2007. She was born on November 29, 1936 in Marianna, Arkansas. Ms. Pitts is survived by her husband of 53 years, George Pitts; eldest son, Dale and wife, Karen; three grandchildren, Addison and Connor of Plano, TX, and Kendra of Albuquerque; and youngest son, DeWayne Pitts of Spring, TX. Ms. Pitts was a well known and respected art instructor who had painted and taught for over 30 years. She will be missed greatly by her family, close friends, and adoring students. TRUDEN -- Angelina P. Truden, 75, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007. She was born September 11, 1931 in New York City, NY the daughter of Dominic and Antoinette Perpetua. In her earlier years, Angelina was an accomplished seamstress specializing in gowns. Angelina came to Rio Rancho in its early days in 1967. Angelina had the gift of hospitality and she loved to cook and bake. As a result, everyone always left her home with more than what they came with because of her wonderful generosity. She took great pride in giving loving care to her family. This included helping rear two of her grandsons. Angelina will be greatly missed by all of her family and dear friends. She is survived by her children; John Truden and wife Evelyn of Albuquerque, Mario Truden, Sr. of Rio Rancho; Regina St. John and fiance Tim Siple of Aurora, CO.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Jean Gallo, Frank Perpetua, Pat Perpetua and Marty Gazzani and a host of other family members. Angelina was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, in July 2001.
