Obituary for FUENTES

Narciso A Fuentes left this life on July 22, 2207. He slipped away quietly, while in the company of his family after suffering the effects of Alzheimer's Disease and sustaining a stroke. He was born in Mora, New Mexico on 3/21/1927, the third son of Guadalupe and Estella Fuentes. He served in the army during WW II and after his discharge graduated from St. Michaels High School in Santa Fe. He was a mail carrier for the US Postal service for 20 years. During this time he was active in the NALC Union serving as Shop Steward and winning many grievances for his fellow carriers. After his retirement, he devoted himself to reading and studying many subjects that interested him. He was predeceased by his parents, his older brothers Fr. Eligius Fuentes OFM and Rumaldo Fuentes, his sisters Emilia Fullilove and Maria Fuentes. He is survived by his brother Raymond Fuentes and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be privately interred at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The New Mexico Alzheimer's Association, 9500 Montgomery NE, Suite 208, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
