APODACA -- Martha C. Apodaca passed away at a local hospital on July 23, 2004. She was born April 20, 1944, in Santa Fe, NM, to Louis Corriz Sr. and Adelina (Corriz) Padilla. She was a member of the American Auxiliary Post 13 and also of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 3. Martha was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish. She leaves behind her husband, Tommy; son, John; daughter, Nina; four grandsons, David, Jeremy, Jacob, and Eric; one step-granddaughter, Latisha and husband, Nick; two great-grandsons, Nickalous, and Julian; five brothers, Louis Jr. and wife, Nellie; Ferbie and wife, Susie, Mike and wife, JoEllen; Joe and wife, Celia; Richard and wife, Martha; three sisters, Mary and son, Leroy, Genevive and Husband, Archie, Theresa and husband, Ray; many beautiful nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mom, Adelina C. Salazar; and father, Louis Corriz; and brother, Tony Corriz. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 10:00 am, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. BRADBURN -- Carolyn Irene Bradburn, 59, our loving Mother, passed away to the Lord on Friday, July 23, 2004. Our Mother's sudden and unexpected death will be deeply mourned by her family; daughter, Lori Bradburn-Alderete; son-in-law Gino Alderete; son, Matthew Bradburn; granddaughter, Sophia Estrada Bradburn; mother, Etta Irene Bruner; brother, John Harper; and little dog, Nick. Carolyn dedicated her life to her children, who always came first, as well as family and friends. She was a registered nurse and worked many years at UNM Mental Health Center, helping the mentally ill. Carolyn also worked at Presbyterian Hospital in the O.R. Her final employment, before her stroke in 1999, was with Charter Heights Hospital helping people with drug and alcohol addictions. Carolyn will be missed by many. She would want us to be strong and keep our faith that she is with God now. A rosary/wake will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2004 and a Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m., Thursday July 29, 2004. CHAVEZ -- Solomon G. "Tootsie" Chavez, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 24, 2004. Solomon was born on January 16, 1925 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Refreshments will be served following the Rosary in the Celebration of Life Room also in Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 - time and place to be announced. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. GALLEGOS -- Frank E. Gallegos, 62, passed away July 22, 2004. He was born in Santa Rosa, NM and lived in Albuquerque. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Teresa Gallegos; and his brother, Albert Gallegos. GARLEY -- Joseph "Salo" Garley, 79, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in Suwannee Health Care Center, Live Oak, FL, following a short illness. The Belen, NM native was born June 24, 1925 and moved to the Fort White, FL area from Lake City, FL, 15 years ago. He was a Superintendent of Construction with Jacobs Corp. in California for 25 years, a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W.II, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7859, and Fr. Paul V. Donnelly Assembly 1817, and also member of San Juan Catholic Mission. Mr. Garley is preceded in death by four brothers, Henry Garley, Jr., Eloy Garley, Johnny Garley, and Ross Garley. He is survived by one daughter, Lynda Wood of Las Vegas, NV; two sons, Charles Garley of Fort White, FL, and Joe Garley of Joplin, MO; three sisters, Amada Sanchez of Belen, NM, Erlinda Moya of Bosque Farms, NM, Mary Jo Moya of Belen, NM; four brothers, Max Garley of Tacoma, WA, Stan Garley of Albuquerque, NM, Bob Garley of Belen, NM, Clifford Garley of Los Lunas, NM. Eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. in San Juan Catholic Mission, Branford, FL, with Rev. LOCKLEAR -- Stacy Ryan Locklear, 3, died Sunday, July 25, 2004. MAESTAS -- Amelia Elisa Maestas, age 93, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. Amelia was born September 16, 1910 in New Mexico to Fidel and Cleofitas Madrid Gallegos. Amelia was a very warm, loving and giving person who loved life and her family around her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Juan P. Maestas; one son, Paul Maestas; two grandsons, Tim Torres and Stan Torres. SANCHEZ -- Jesus "J. C." Sanchez was born to Adelino and Francisquita B. Sanchez on November 19, 1921. He was a lifelong resident of the town that was named after his father, Adelino, where he and his wife, Trina raised their children and grandchildren. "J.C." as he was better known by everyone, was a life long farmer, horseman and rancher. He was also a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. J.C. loved working and caring for his farm and ranch. He truly loved the land. J.C. also enjoyed being active in local organizations - he knew would make a difference. J.C. was a founding member of the Valencia County Fair Board, and The Valencia County Sheriff's Posse. He was past chairman of The Valencia County Farm Bureau and presently on the New Mexico State Farm Bureau Board. He was honored by NMFB as the 1993 New Mexico Farm Family of the Year. J.C. was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, NMQHA, AQHA, NM Cattle Growers Assoc., NM Breeders Assoc, and The New Mexico Hay Growers Assoc. He was a lifetime supporter of 4-H and FFA, and the Adelino/Tome Historical Society. J.C. also enjoyed local politics and was a staunch Republican who often debated with his Democratic friends. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Adelino and Francisquita Sanchez. J.C. is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Trina; and his seven children: Anna and her husband, Ron Glenn, Robert L. Sanchez and his wife, Bonnie, all of Albuquerque, Clarence T. Sanchez and his wife, Carmella, Richard Sanchez and his wife, Cindy, Rebecca and her husband, Gary Wolfe, and Steve Sanchez all of Adelino, and Juanita and her husband, Charles B. Sanchez of Belen. He is also survived by his 26 grandchildren and soon to be eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by ten brothers and sisters, Rachel Cunningham, Roque Sanchez and his wife, MaryAnn, Betty Kiefer, Teofilo (Ted) Sanchez and his wife, Lourdes, Teresa McCurdy, Adelino Sanchez, Jr. and his wife, Carol, Dolores and her husband, Hugh Eberle, Fefa and her husband, Bill Burch, Anthony Sanchez and his wife, Patsy, and Lawrence Sanchez and his wife, JoAnn. All Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, NM, beginning with a public viewing on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 from 5:30 - 6:00 p.m., with a rosary following at 6:00 p.m. A viewing will be on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral Mass celebration at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Tome Catholic Cemetery. SEDILLO -- Vincent Sedillo, 90, went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2004. He was born on March 13, 1914 in Roswell, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his son, Paul Sedillo. Mr. Sedillo was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. Chapter 3. THAXTON -- Ruby D. Thaxton, 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2004. She is survived by her cousins, Michael Clauson and husband, Keith, and Heinz Otto Backhus and wife, Herma all of Pennsylvania; and adopted family, Ed and Bertie Matheny and family of Albuquerque. Ruby was a business owner as well as member of the Electronics Representatives Association. She was also a longtime member of the Daughters of the Nile. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE with Rev. Tom Salmon officiating.
